- Ares, changed by his time as a mortal, opens up to Xena/Callisto in an unexpected moment of vulnerability.
From Xena Warrior Princess Season 2 Episode 8, "Ten Little Warlords": Joxer delivers a letter to Xena, who is still in Callisto's body, telling her that ten of the greatest warriors are being challenged by Sisyphus to slay a monster known as the Barrachus. The reward is Ares' divinity. Meanwhile, Earth is beginning to lose all sanity, as a result of the lack of a Deity of War.

Hudson actually does a wonderful job here playing the more composed 'Xena' instead of the usual Callisto. Impressive.

Even if he couldn't teleport, mind control people, emit fire from his hands and burn people alive, Ares should've had some fighting skills as a mortal 😅.
Always nice to see beautiful Hudson Leick, and R.I.P. Kevin Smith.
And that's why Xena can hold her own against the gods.
Not necessarily one would imagine that he would feel pretty weak and vulnerable after losing his powers and immortality.. death and pain are scary to a god
@@davlin7685 Even as a mortal Ares should have still had the knowledge and fighting skill he had as a god. He's the God of War so technically he should know every fighting style in existence.
@@trickq5883 Later in the show, they reveal he really can fight as a mortal. He's was just going through some mental stuff here with the fear of death and depression from the situation. Later, during another time when he's mortal, he can fight just fine. He even goes toe to toe with Xena at one point.
Ares did have some fighting skills, but was also not the bravest without his power, but he was still plenty skilled at fighting, and one time did get the better of Xena when he didnt have his powers. But, that was the only time it happened....he was hyped during that fight.
Hudson played Xena for this episode because Lucy suffered an injury and couldn't film. I loved Hudson and would have liked seeing her more in the series.
I wish Callisto/Hudson stayed playing Xena for at least one more episode.

Ten Little Warlords is one of my favourite episodes! Gabby and Joxer are hysterical in this one.
Here's a fact for you fans if you didn't know: The reason why they did these episodes with Xena's in Callisto's body, is because Lucy Lawless had hurt her back during the filming another episode and the production was giving her time to recover and heal.
She actually fractured her pelvis being thrown from a horse filming a segment of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Callisto became a hippie after this episode. lol
I like the idea of Xena (in Callisto’s body) being the Goddess of War.
Mortality humbled Ares a bit. Once his Godhood came back, he went back to being a spiteful, petty, egotistical bully. The God of War DOES lie.
He did keep his promise in the end of returning Xena to her original body. Other than that, yes Ares mostly lies.
One of my favorite xena in Callisto’s body and Callisto is in xena body. The best one I love but the god of war is still annoying and I still feel sorry for Callisto after everything she been through losing her family at the end she got to see her parents again in heaven
The music composer is the best!
Technically it’s xena in Callisto body having a moment with ares but they always have moments that’s why I ship them

Seeing Xena in Callisto's body makes me feel a little bit more serious. I barely hear a little bit of Callisto in Xena.
The guys thrught they could attack her Evan in a different body but she show them it’s the same person but different body that my girl and poor Aries he look horrible as a morital 😊😊😊
