Do more of these videos showing walking to the game stores. At night would be great too. Miss Tokyo.
Can do.
Man I love these videos! They're so chill. I also like the way you put the retro commercials in there too! Quality stuff 👌
But I do want to watch you digging in the "Junk" Section for over 1h! :
Ha ha, maybe some other time then. The video will be called "Digging Through Hard Off Junk for an Hour"
16:12 Rare japanese Doom II Big Box for Windows 95 sighting!
I miss Japan already. :( Loved searching for rare gaming/anime goodies over there last month.
That Metal Gear @8:12 though
great amazing video man I love these japanese shop videos also the music you used in these videos are amazing man missed the old gaming youtube channels like this one magusx1 and so on.
Well shoot, forget Super Potato and Mandarake, Hard Off is looking like the true paradise for retro enthusiasts and for those wanting to save a few bucks.
Yep, the challenge is making the trek out to the shops dotted around the city, but if you take the time you'll find some very good deals on games.
Super Spike! Wow I remember spending hours on that game trying to beat it. Wen I finally did I was one happy boy. I would love to have that Senran Kagura box set. And I don't even own a PS4.
I really do miss the strolls through the streets in Japan.. especially knowing that they're going to lead me to games :)
YES!!! Buy and Sell to us! JContra lives out there and does RUclips videos and I have begged him to buy some Spice orange GameCubes from the junk section for $5 - $7 each and sell a few to me.
Anything I post for sale will be on my FB page I guess. There's a link in the description.
@@MadPanicGaming Thank you bro!!
musasikoganei・hanakoganei・tamanagayama・tachikawa・hamura・higashiyamato・hachiouji・akigawa・・Close places from these stations! West area of Tokyo.
Yep, I used to live in Fussa and would make the rounds every weekend.
always love these *-OFF window shopping videos! 22:05 'Breeding Stud' alrighty then! definitely jealous of all the BEMANI-related stuff there... wouldn't mind owning some of that!
Man those Super Famicom games... I would have spent so much there.
Love your videos, I live in Hokkaido and Hard Off or Book Off are awesome places to look for games and consoles!
Oh nice, I've only been to Hokkaido once but I really enjoyed it, great food and beer.
Great video! I love your Japanese game store videos.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
nice video I'd wish you show more of the xbox 360 and xbox one games and consoles just saying like your video :)
Damn I love that Gunhed commercial, it's so 80's. The voice over is hilarious, like something out of South Park. Great video as always.
For the most excitement you must play the PC Engine.
Damn straight
nice vid as always. thank you
I wish I could go to Japan and game hunt!
I'd love to watch you dig through the junk piles....
You mentioned that you were thinking of getting into game selling. And that got me thinking...is there such a thing as a "Tokyo video game shopping tour"? Someone who scouts locations for good buys, and then acts as a guide for tourists who don't know enough about Japan to help the "tour group" to navigate the city, going from shop to shop for a couple of days?
I give tours of Akiba, but I could expand into a game hunting tour I suppose. As far as I know nobody's doing that.
Man, I wish I would go to Japan :( They have affordable 3DS and 2DS models in Hard Off. I'd have a great collection. They're not ridiculously expensive.
Very cool video. Those games would be outrageous in price if they were the US version.
I saw icewind dale, awesome.
Man, I wouldn't like to bike on that street. TIGHT!
That Hatsune Miku PS Vita for 27 thousand yen looked pretty nice, and that Senran Kagura PBS looked still sealed, i would buy that on the spot if i had the chance.
Great stuff 👍👍👍👍👍
Good that no officer found You jaywalking, lol
I NEED to buy Dreamcast next time, they're so cheap in Japan! (2-3x the price in Poland)
Really nice deals in this Hard-Off, great video, keep it up!
Another store to go on my upcoming Tokyo trip.
I'm gonna pass some time on that junk section you can get so much interesting things in these bin if you like digging .
Nice pickup too I paid like 2000 yen last year for Super Star Force so goid deal man .
"Junk" section looked interesting :-)
I see that tales of destiny near the ff7 section nice!!! Im actually stopping over to tokyo for my layover this april ill hunt games and ship it off to me then hunt games in the Philippines for 2 weeks. I wanna say jim thanks for showing hardoff hahaha it makes me laugh saying that anyway its an awesome place.
I saw that GlayLancer on the Megadrive is getting another official re-release the other day
Love your videos.. it's reminds me of LGR videos and I love it
V'Ball is a great game, very similar of the original arcade game... Good choice ! :)
Love it, immediately came home and played through the single player mode.
I would totally buy games from you!!!! Please, start doing it!!!! Please!!!
I'll start listing them on my FB page. Link in the description.
Meanwhile in America game costs are highway robbery. 😢
That problem is starting to creep in here too.
I'm visiting Japan next April, this video was very useful for me. I wonder if these places are all cash-only.
No, they accept card as well.
I have to say really enjoying these videos. Just getting back in to playing video game and forgot how many games I need to check out. When I come back to Japan see if you be down to do a collab on retro games. Plus get some chu-hi.
Sure thing, just drop me a line when you're in town.
@@MadPanicGaming will do brother. \m/
Great pickup on Super Spike V'Ball. Now all you need is three friends, a multitap and you are in for the most fun that can be had on the NES/Famicom. Especially if beer is involved. Though, come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a Japanese Famicom mulitap. Do they exist?
Yeah, there are multi taps for the Famicom, I don't have one unfortunately even though I have a handful of four player games.
I remember you going to this one in a previous video. Thanks for being so hard off!
Oooooooh, Eye of truth in the beginning. You have good taste
Great tune. I've been really getting into this lo fi hip hop stuff.
@@MadPanicGaming Hahaha isn't synthwave great? You should check out Triangle Music's channel as well as the Space Trip mixes here on RUclips
Great video again Jim. Im a big box PC collector and didnt find one in any Hard Offs and it looked like you saw a whole row in that store! I dont suppose you saw any of the prices of the big box PC games im just curious if they were expensive? Must try and find this store when I go back.
Sorry, I didn't bother to check the prices on those.
"Go lady in white van go, you are standing in the way of me and video games".
Love watching these vids Jim, snooping about in the Hard Off's and game shops. Were you tipsy when you were providing the voice over by any chance? ; )
Nope, wasn't drunk for once, just dead tired.
I would have grabbed Power Stone in a heartbeat
If I didn't already have it.
Dammit i have to go to japan 🇯🇵
interesting hard off. the junk section look like those hard off outside main cities. How long do it take from Shinjiku to go there ?
Maybe about 30 minutes.
damn i miss japan already (ive been to japan around march-april this year) and i remember my precious childhood by listening to your bg (afaik u used rockman x bgm right?)
Actually, it's Gambit's them from X-men Vs Street Fighter.
21:17 someone spraying air-freshener because of the stinky gaijin ?
Can you do a DS import buying guide?
I'll need to get some first. I don't collect for any handhelds at the moment.
I want to shop there😢
*Ahh sheeiit here we go again* seems to be a popular GTA:SA meme ATM lol
Probably a silly question, but is the retro scene as big in Japan, as it is in the West?
Yeah, it's going pretty strong, but prices are typically because there are a ton of games in a relatively small geographic area.
21:21 You should have bought Judge Eyes, because the game got pulled due to the controversy.
But anyway. Great video.
video starts at 6:00
what music is 6:00? I remember that music but not the name.
Do they have goodwills, charity shops or "church" shops in Japan or do these used media chains take all the business?
I've been to some little bargain shops, but they're few and far between. The "Off" shops have that market cornered pretty much, also GEO.
Hey Jim, random question. Have you ever been to Kiddy Land in Harajuku?
I would get ryu ga gotoku kenzan and ishin
Why don't I live in Japan :(
28c here 46c
get a stabilizer for your GoPro Kid
Music at 2:28?
Please can you write me this store station name ??? Please
Any chance you ever come across any ranma 1/2 games for SNES?
Yep, I've actually got them all in my collection.
@@MadPanicGaming I use to love playing Ranma 1/2 hard battle on SNES when I was a kid. And that eventually got me into the anime.
I can see why Jim. 8^)
Anthony..
what hard off is this?
The one in Musashi Koganei.
Thanks man.
何気に相場を知ってるハードオフ
I never see any graffiti and trash and you're in a huge metropolitan city. Who cleans this stuff up or is there just not any graffiti?
There are people who work to keep the city clean, but there is graffiti around town it's just usually out of site.
why dont you do live commentary? so boring to watch when you comment over a clip only
I think he tries to record as inconspicuously as possible, stores do not like filming let alone live filming.
If your camera picks up the Hard Off theme (which plays constantly) you get a copyright claim slapped on you and I don't need any more of those. Plus yes, live commentary makes you much more conspicuous and I don't want to be a bother to the people around me if I can help it.
