I LOVE how Johnny Morris replaces "so loudly that they all stopped to look at him, then he promised them a new train at once" with The Fat Controller saying "Now, um. Wait a moment, please. Um, wait a moment. Um, now, I promise you a new train if you'll all just keep quiet."
Slow but with good acting and a real accent over vinyl with him is much, much better than slow with bad acting and pronunciation meant for teaching english to 2-year-olders with Michael Brandon, or later series with Angelis.
The trunks bumped going oh-oh-oh and the pulled ones going bobobowodom bobowodom is probable imitating the sounds they really made in those days, just made to speech. I can imagine different trucks making different pitches as they collide one by one.
I'll be the first to make about Clarence Dalby's illustration in these stories. 3:30 That right there just makes the engines' proportions and perspectives so out of touch. Dalby really made his artistry look so corny. It ain't worse like William Middleton's illustrations in "The Three Railway Engines" book by any means, but in terms of circus-like portraiture, that's what you see when you look at Dalby's illustrations.
@@McMalarky The reason for Gordon getting switched off the main was the cause of the points, not a fault with the engine. I think in a way that Awdry needed a reason for James to get to pull the express and imo it was kinda rushed. Not a story killing element though.
@@McMalarky I was confused how that wasn't really mentioned so it made no sense without that info. Ironic how Gordon would later nearly Crash into Percy for the same reason.

He left to run his very own branch line. Leaving the big engines to do their own dirty work of fetching coaches and freight cars for themselves. And I really like that subtle change in the Railway Series.
He used to pull express trains during his times in the early Sodor ages. Sure, he's a mixed-traffic locomotive that can haul both express trains and freight trains, but the many performances he has demonstrated proves that no matter what the trains hold consists, Edward sure did managed to get the job done. I think now I'll pencil the Furness Railway "K2" Seagull tender locomotive as number 2 on my favorite types of steam engines.
*"Hello Gordon! Is it tomorrow?"*
Really like how James roasted Gordon here.

James the red engine book is one of my favorite books from the railway series
Oh, the indignity!
😂
My mom's favorite Thomas character is James. She's likes James because he's red and red is one of her favorite colors
I love it when james and gordon are good friends but why was gordon angry at 4:58?
angry at the trucks?
Probably with the Trucks.
Why does Johny Morris do his own train noises. This is why I like the Wille Rushton era.
You and me both, he's too slow for my liking
He's funny with his impressions!
And ted robbins is good too

I was gonna ask that.
This story was adapted into an episode of series 1. Thomas, who was absent from the story, appears in the model version, as a background element.
3:34 Nintendon't in a nutshell
I am a big fan of British railway
The Thomas R-W-S Book's 3-5 are perfect for the upcoming movie "The Adventure Continues" are you looking forward to that film anyone?
Agreed
I will never understand why this narrator makes up his own lines.
Reece Walter Show.
I believe he improvises some lines, as well as his clever sound effects, to give the stories a bit more life.
The RWS and TVS don’t have exactly the same lines and dialogue

I LOVE that Johnny Morris does that

All of james's stories toke place in 1925
Why hasn't anyone made any remarks on this yet?

Why did TFC give the express to James? There was nothing wrong with Gordon.
He didn't deserve it
They didn't trust him

In the RWS the cab roof on James is not painted black
It was sometimes, Kenny and Spong were the only artists to exclusively depict the all over red.

Where is Thomas in this story?
On his branchline

oh oh oh oh oh.

Date:May 21, 2019
Huhh? The story started at June 18 1967 not may 21 2019
@Thomas HDMedia wrong date
JAMES:"oh yes sir I'll try"
@Thomas HDMedia STOP CHANGING YOUR NAME IDIOT
why is henry blue he is suposed to be green
Henry never got painted blue in model version after his ordeal in tunnel.
Yeah, he was tired of being mistaken for Gordon, so he broke the NWS dresscode like James.
@@oron61 so he changed color
