i was in dublin for two nights. and i met him at a bar. he was alone. we talked for a while. best night ever. he's a lovely man.
I still remember seeing "Once" in theaters and falling in love with Mr. Hansard's voice and music. He's been in my top five ever since.
Huge fan of Glen. Quite frankly, I don't care if the world isn't going crazy over his music right now. When I'm marrried and have my children, I'll expose them to quality music: Glen Hansard.
My son is one of the main guys in the video, the little guy in the check shirt! The whole thing is just fantastic, song, people and Glen and Hedi :-)
On Tuesday night, I was very lucky to go and get to see one of my favourite artists and biggest influences- Glen in Manchester. I was even luckier to meet him before the show when I was eating dinner in a little bar and Glen came in. He was due to perform in about and hours time and was sat yards away from me with his band eating a burger and having a pint. I managed to have a chat with him and he's the nicest, most down to earth artist ever! Great show too. Thanks so much Glen

I met him at a in-studio performance a few years ago. First time I've ever been star struck by the most humble and gracious man. Incredible performer and writer. No alter ego, what you see is what you get.

Parenthood anyone? Just an awesome song!
Hadn't heard of Glen until this song ripped through me on an episode of Parenthood. It has been a very long time since music I didn't know has touched me so profoundly.
I am now finding & listening to a bunch of Glen's solo work as well as Frames and Swell Season. Still liking "Rhythm and Response" best so far.
Glen to me (with the utmost respect) is Bob Dylan meets Cat Stevens meets Van Morrison. If that sounds like your thing, then check him out!

Went to school with glen, the Holy Spirit primary school,Ballymun. In the late seventies early eighties. His nickname was Hamo. Remember he had a mullet and a Status Que patch on the back of his denim jacket. Great to see him doing well.
