False- I don't think he can make it to the end of the season healthy enough to do it. Lamar progressed each and every year in the NFL and became one of the best throws of the football the league currently has. JF is the same thrower of the football he was when he entered the league. Dude is so contradictory. When Justin fields lost 2 straight it was the end of the world. When Russ lost 5 straight it was nothing. Justin was in multiple offenses so how in the world is he supposed to develop with differnce systems year in and year out. Not to mention u mention Justin holds the ball to long u forgot to mention he was running and creating plays. He even had a chance to sit basically a whole season behind a hof, who is washed now. I think it’s time jack learns that it’s ok for his take to he wrong and move on. Russ was producing in the passing game and lost the more difficult games…for reasons that were mostly outside of his own play.
Fire Arthur Smith and bring back Russell Wilson. The lack of Mike Williams usage after he scored the game winning TD with his first target for the Steelers is inexcusable. Smith also made a lot of other bad decisions like the Patterson usage and early down play calling. Russ had never the chance to be the playmaking QB because he permanently had to throw on 3rd and long with a fast collapsing pocket.

Fields is the obvious answer. Sign him to a 2 year deal. Make him the unquestioned QB1 for 2025 and let him sink or swim. If he does great, they have a young franchise QB. If he flames out, draft one in 2026 in a much better QB class..

Russell Wilson is still your man
I believe the most likely scenario is that the Steelers sign Justin Fields to a 2-3 year deal at 20-25 million a year and that they bring in a backup like Jacoby Brissett or even Daniel Jones. I wouldn't be surprised to see them sign Jones as his is play style is similar to Justin Fields. Both Jones and Fields, on paper, look like prototypical NFL QB but neither will ever be a top tier QB (mid tier at best and that is unlikely for either).
Regardless, if they go with Fields, the Steelers will be at best a 10-7 team with another 1st round playoff lost. I am not a Tomlin hater but the common denominator in this 'one & done' playoff run is Tomlin, Danny Smith, Bosswell, and Heyward (maybe I am missing someone else). I am not too fond of Danny Smith but I can't blame him or the above players for the playoff drought. If the Steelers continue with Tomlin, it will be the 'same ol' same ol' '.

Dude the Steelers have ZERO hope of even SNIFFING the Superbowl this upcoming season or next, the offense is laughable, the defense literally just gave up 300 yards to the ravens, Tomlin probably won't ever get near the Superbowl he's a terrible head coach and too many good teams in AFC, with that being said, Justin Fields is a good option, sign him on a cheap contract loaded with incentives and see what you got

JF...second year in the offense. The most athletic QB in the bunch. Opens up the run game a bit more. More run game flexibility. Already developing a connection with the receivers we have. Why go out and get another bandaid....when we need stitches. We arent gonna get a franchise QB in FA or the draft this year. Let JF rock...if he sucks and we have a losing season...trade up and get one of the many QBs in the draft next year. The issue with the steelers is they never want to accept that have to actually rebuild. Our oline needs help. We need more help on the d line. We need some weapons on offense. More losing season with your formula.........They need to start new.......get rid of all washed up players and coaches like overpaid under performed Tomlin. Just look at Washington Commander clean house last year and where they at now.
That’s a rare moment for Washington. The most realistic team to look at is the lions. So if we were to do that we are going to have a couple of losing seasons with better trade options before becoming a winning playoff team and this could take 2 or 3 seasons

I have been a Steelers fan for 56 years and this team has gone from great to mediocre. Having a winning season is great, but going into a playoff and getting stopped in Game 1 is bad. We have lost 8 straight first round playoff games and we lost six games in a row this season. It is time for big changes.

If we fortify the o-line, Rodgers or Wilson are ideal. Even though they can’t run like they used to, both can still play. Our offensive line sucked and the run game vanished.
They just got to get JF in a few games in the beginning and one game before the play off that don’t matter if we lose.

The offensive line is made up basically of first and second year players offensive line will be fine specially when injured players get back we need a running back to compliment Warren and hopefully we get Higgins and draft a good number two in the draft along with a corner and a defensive tackle

I do believe it's not the coaching staff, I looked at a lack lustered effort on some of the players,few of the players were not giving their best,every one needs to be on board to have a super bowl team.

@Timothy-Lemm there's always room ( on any team) for improvement but I just don't see the 100% effort as in years past.Now that could be from coaching ,maybe the players are just feeling discouraged, and don't have the fire needed to come together and win ,but something is missing.And they must figure it out.Do you remember when Jerome was talking retirement and the team played their hearts out and ,he retired as a super bowl champ?It may be me but I'm just not seeing that kinda fire among the players. Big Ben was the third string quarterback, I believe it was Batch and Maddox? Injuries. Anyway It started with Maddox winning two games and big Ben winning another 13. I feel we will not lose by looking for two new quarterbacks and just getting rid of what we have if we want a Super Bowl. The payoff could be tremendous, I would look for a fresh draft rookie and a seasoned quarterback. We would do no worse, because I do believe that Justin Fields is not a 3-D quarterback as coach Bill tower often talked about with big Ben. A person that not only saw the game like most quarterbacks, he also understood depth. If you watch last year‘s interview with big Ben’s video interview where they taste food and drink beers he will understand what I’m talking about. 9:08

The only reason they were able to draft Ben because they went 6-10 the year before Bill Cowher didn't want to draft Ben he wanted to run with the 2 qbs he had and draft an OT but Dan Rooney stepped in and changed the decision
