Six minutes of densely-packed master information. It's going to take multiple views to fully delve into it, understand all the implications, applaud the decades of creating art, soak in all the facets... and all this in an informal talk on center-of-interest. Thank you!
It’s an honour to share; thanks Dave.
I like the first painting as it is! What I always liked about watching you paint is how you manage to simplify the subject and yet maintain a sense of detail and accuracy in the drawing.
Thanks Chris. I just didn’t get the exact effect that Is as searching for; I’m persistent and will definitely retry at some point.
Good to learn from what you felt didn’t work in your paintings that was helpful!
Glad to be of some help.
Definitely can be hard to see the problem areas when you're in the middle of it - stepping back as you say, can be a big eye opener. Just a suggestion - I find all the paint on the easel very distracting - maybe a sheet of white paper on your easel would help the art you are featuring in your videos stand out more. Really enjoy your videos!
We’ll definitely look into it.
You do manage to communicate sky light on the ground plain, beautifully.
Thanks Simon.
I am learning so much from your videos - thank you 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching.
Nice paintings they Feel great. Thanks again for your efforts in the art community.
Thanks Steven.
First time viewer.....I have the same set-up as you , works well for me....lovely work, I can relate to everything you said ...thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it Paul.
Thank you , very interesting
Excellent work as usual Colley! now when is Travis going to appear in a video? 🙂
Not sure yet, I’m saving up so I can afford his appearance fee.
Good and helpful video! 😊 I skip the distracting music though, you don’t need it.
Thanks for the feedback, we’ll definitely tweak the music’s mix in the videos going forward.
@@colleywhissonartist Honestly there’s no need for music, especially while you are talking.
Sorry, but the cow anatomy is way off. Head is huge and Holsteins, depending on their age have very unique skeletal structures.
You need to study that breed and they are completely different than a beef breed.
John McCartin of Australia is one of the best milk cow painters now.
The rest of your painting is good and you are so right about painting detail.
My main aim in my work is to depict a version of our reality, and although it’s not exact, it’s my creative license.
John McCartin is a great friend of mine and a brilliant painter; we all harbour own aesthetic.
Your painting is excellent, just that cow.. Which I am sure that you will fix..
