My mother went to be with Jesus in March- it seems that every day something comes up that we depended on her for ❤. Hugs & prayers -I am sure your momma will be on your mind as you sew your buttons 🙏🙏🤗🤗❤️❤️
Our family subjects are my favorite time of the day and it’s what we spend the majority of our time working on. I love the discussions from all of our kids
The CM feast still overwhelms me! Even after 11 years of homeschooling 😂 Love that you do all of these as your “core”, that’s kind of how our days work too.
We did AO and it was so overwhelming at first too! When we first decided to start CM we did the morning basket route first to add in certain things on the AO schedule and it was much easier to ease into it. ;)

Yay for back to school week! I am so glad you mention that you are just rotating through all these enrichment things, not doing them on an every day or weekly basis - I love all the things and just have to remember we don’t have to do them all at once!
Looks like a great year ahead! I love the enrichment that comes with CM homeschooling. Artist/picture study has become my favorite over the years. We took a family trip to DC this past school year and it was so sweet to see my youngest child experiencing wonder and awe in an art gallery seeing the real thing she studied! I also loved the my oldest got to check off seeing a real Van Gogh in person from her bucket list before she graduated. Laying the foundation to appreciate the beauty that goes into art, music and handicrafts gives a sense of appreciation to all that goes into those skills and giftings!
We also had my dad passing away in February so we paused on school for awhile and we have a one year old baby as well. Blessings to you. It is hard…we also live in Florida and will also be studying the nutcracker in co op and going to the show with our friends….

I would love to see how you schedule all of this out. Do you just decide how many days a week you want to do each thing, and then spread it out accordingly? I always feels like there’s so much and not a good way to fit it all in!

I just have to say that we stumbled across the Speaking Spanish with Miss Mason and Francois this summer and I ordered the German version. (I took 6 years in middle and high school and we have really been struggling with Spanish the last 3 years.) We started 3 weeks ago and I have to tell you, I LOVE it. It's so natural. And the super fun part?? My 3 and 5 year old do it right along with us! They are saying German phrases throughout the day!
I don’t have school age kids yet, but we’re taking a very, very gentle start to homeschooling preschool with my 3.5 year old this year, and I’m reading up on Charlotte Mason. Watching your videos makes me so excited for the future!

How funny- we also dig around on the AO website to find our own folk songs and we also chose I’ll Fly Away and Crawdad Song, but we chose the Mermaid instead of the Fox. I love that you’re adding the ballet study! We started doing an opera, a composer, and a ballet- one per term for our classical music study. So fun!

Our last school year was rough as well. My mom got sick in January and passed away on April 5. This school year we are dealing with our oldest adult daughter’s diagnosis with cancer. I feel like Job at the moment. God has a plan…I may not like it but he has a plan for our family.

For nature study, you might consider purchasing the Laws Guide to Drawing Birds to use this year. I have liked all the books in this series.
