I am natural but I wear my hair straight and I LOVE your videos!! Most of the products you have recommended I use already. The protein overload issue is a very real concern!! I alternate between my protein shampoo/conditioners with non-protein products. It is hard to stay away from the heat tools and I have both the Dyson Corrale and the GHD flat irons. I typically use the Dyson on wash days and GHD on other days.

Great advice! You're hair is so healthy and flawless! I don't understand either why companies got to put protein in about all there hair products. I checks the ingredient list now for protein. I use to just purchase the product and use it without checking the ingredients and experience protein overload. Lesson learned!! Beautiful flat iron! 🔥🔥🔥

    Your hair looks amazing!
Thank you so much for the video.
I'm a huge Joico fan myself.
If you don't mind me asking?
I totally understand how it feels to want to grow your hair out.
Have you ever considered clip-in extensions just to add a little length?
Not to use everyday, but just to add a little extra length when you want it?
I personally cannot handle the clip-ins, because they hurt my head, but I have been using halo extensions.
I like to have that option when I want it, but I definitely don't use everyday.
    Again, you are simply beautiful.
I'm glad that I found another Joico lover and channel! :)

Conditioning 👏 is 👏 a chemical 👏 process. If you leave conditioner on too long it will affect your hair. We have to get away from thinking of relaxers, perms, and bleach/dye as the only chemicals that are applied to hair that can cause damage. Everything is a chemical. We apply chemicals to our hair because they react with the bonds and structure of hair in different ways.
When you spoke about this in your video I wanted to give you a hug.

The shine on your hair is incredible! You're def doing something right! I agree about Olaplex! It brought my hair back to life after a protein overload setback. But I can only use it once a month. It's too strong! I'm curious about the non-combing benefit bc I find when my hair is properly moisturized and not too weighed down, it doesn't break at all when I comb it. The first 2 days after wash day I barely get any breakage. Breakage starts on day 3 if I don't moisturize.

Steam is fabulous particularly when deep conditioning. Works for natural and relaxed hair. It is a slept on aspect of conditioning hair. Heat is a DETRIMENT TO HAIR OF ANY KIND. Respect heat. Randomness and irrelevant to some, but you are gorgeous and feminine and classy. Things that must be said. Bravo fellow Canuck girl. Aussie is so slept on as a product. Their conditioners are fantastic for relaxed and nautural hair. Cheap and cheerful and it works.

Great update video! GHD is amazing! A friend from the UK told me about them maybe 10 years ago and I bought a flat iron then and it still works. I bought another one a few years ago and I will never use another brand. Good tip about deep conditioning. I love keracare humectoas it's so moisturizing but I've come to learn that I can't use it too often. For me, it's almost too moisturizing and then I have to dump a bunch of protein in. That moisture/protein balance is so key!

    Awesome 👌🏾
Sleeping with conditioners overnight you know I used to do that back in the day maybe 7 years ago but as time goes on you learn more when it comes to products and how to apply them and how they respond to your hair I teach this a lot of my channel :) followed The directions of every product that you use you don't have to leave it on for hours or days some allow you to leave it on for 30 minutes with heat or even without heat they say 5 to 10 minutes and that's good enough because whoever the scientists were behind the product they already know what the product will do because it's formulated just to stay on for so many minutes. Thank you ever so kindly for this video God-bless you🙏🏽😊

Love the update, your hair has really bounced back! . If you haven’t found a good leave in yet try the one from the new Aveda Replenish line. I tried the sample trio then ordered the full size leave in. Will def get the moisturizing shampoo too. Recently went from texlaxed back to relaxed and got serious about quality products with real moisturizing priorities. I quit the Keratase oleo products loaded with silicones that lead to dryness and breakage on my ends unless I clarify weekly-no bueno for me.

I love you're product recommendations because you love salon products just as much as I do. There's nothing wrong with drugstore but to me there are certain products that are best from the salon. I've been using joico k-pak shampoo and conditioner for my protein and it's just ok to me. My hair loves protein but I only got them because my AG products I liked were discontinued so once again I need something else, any ideas? I cannot be a finger detangler, lol. I know a lot of people swear by it though so if it works, it works. I used the olaplex twice a month, have you tried their leave-in yet? I swear when I watch your channel I leave with a list, lol. I also like bunning my hair as a protective style. I prefer to do loose curly buns after a twist out so that I can avoid heat and the need to comb. It also looks cute with little curls hanging down. BUT, the key change for me to avoid breakage when bunning is from using a silk/satin scrunchie!! Not a SINGLE hair will get caught in it so you won’t even need to move the bun around to avoid breakage, and you can get the skinnier less ‘schoolgirl’ ones too! I will never let a regular hairband into my hair again. 🙅🏾‍♀️

Your hair is looking great! On an unrelated and random note, when is your sister Erika gonna feature in your video again? It’s been a while and it would be awesome to find out if she’s doing anything different with her hair these days...

I forgot to ask, do you co-wash and if so what products do you use for that? I know you work out and you're a runner so wondering if you ever co-wash mid-week. Thanks!

    • @StyleDomination

I used to co-wash but it left my hair pretty gross. It felt greasy, weighed down and dull. It would get dirty faster too. I wash once a week now...twice a week in the summer when I'm running/working out and it's hot out!

Have you started dyeing your hair yet? I am always looking for color that is long lasting but not damaging to relaxed hair.

I was all set to go, and then we went into a lockdown! Hoping we reopen at the end of May as scheduled so I can get a relaxer and semi-permanent colour. L'Oreal sent me a wash in colour that I may try!

I’ve realised no matter how much alternative hair straighteners I use it still wrecks my hair so I just have to live with my rollers and a bit of texture . I think my hair just seems to dislike any hair straitners unfortunately
