The duo announcing team of Bob Jenkins and Benny Parsons was a delight to hear in this race. Their narrative pacing was good; the slight pauses from their speaking roles, allowing the action and sounds play out on the screen without narration, was nice, too. This telecast was a lot more pleasant on the ears than what Fox and NBC currently do with their yak-fest announcing crews for NASCAR races.
Bob Jenkins is the best ever to do it! He and Benny were outstanding! Also enjoyed when Ned joined the team. They were the best trio in auto racing broadcasting.
I understand why a lot of these uploads have edits, and I am SO appreciative that this effort exists and has turned loose such high quality copies of so many classic races But it would have been really nice to have had Paul Page' intro narration preserved on this one.
Funny how NASCAR and the racing media make such a big deal out of all the crews coming out to congratulate Dale Earnhardt after his 1998 Daytona 500 win, but the same thing basically happened here. I'm a Gordon fan and I totally forgot all the crews came out to give him kudos.
good grief those Bodine brothers were the biggest idiots, ok maybe not Geoff, he was a real real driver with a respectable career, but those 2 younger ones all they ever did was wreck people, maybe one win between them both. i feel bad for Geoff that his name gets trashed because of those other dumbasses.
After the 1994 Season Jeff Gordon would go on to have One of The Greatest Careers in NASCAR History that saw an additional 91 Victories & 4 Championships in 1995, 1997, 1998 & 2001 before Concluding his Driving Career in 2015 from a Full-Time Perspective & in 2016 from an Overall Perspective.
Whoever Was Doing The Original Recording Did A Horrible Job! 😳🤢🤮😡 Way , Way Too Many Pauses On The Pause Button 🔘 Maybe 🤔🙄 People Would Like To Know The Starting Grid! 🤷♂️🤦♂️ Maybe 🤔🙄 People Would Like To Know About The Tire Wear Of The 'Goodyear' Tires Vs. The 'Hoosier' Tires!🤷♂️🤦♂️ I Am Posting 📫 This 👇 At 4:42 a.m. , Wednesday Morning 🌛🌉🌃🌌 , June 5 , 2024.
This was the race I decided I was a Jeff Gordon fan! Those passes on Wallace and Irvin on the outside were incredible and showed the guts Jeff had to make a car work for him!!! I was a Richard Petty fan since I started watching in the 70s, routed for Bill Elliott as well but Bill annoyed me just riding around behind 1 of the 3 putz brothers bodine and never did anything to show he “wanted it”. Jeff did and that’s a driver IMO !! Excluding race!! Far better than the crap nascar puts out these last 15+ years..

Great video of a historic race, but it's too bad that the starting grid and the segment on the Hoosier vs Good Year tires was cut out.
🏁Great race, I was there!!!!🏁
Man, where does the time go??????
I wish I was alive to watch this live. I love watching these older races
2:00:50 The start of an amazing battle between Jeff and Ernie
Great piece of NASCAR trivia…who led the 1st lap of NASCAR at Indy? Rick Mast
Man I loved Gordon’s 90s schemes
I'm sure nobody at the time knew that they were bankrolling the IRL. The revenue from this race helped Tony George fund "his" series and destroy AOWR.
Great race.. Bill Elliott had best/fastest ride today! If only 4 more laps.. 🏁
30 years ago today. I still remember it so well. Things have changed, but at the time, this was a rare occasion where the event justified the hype.
Watching the 2024 race now. The only fans there are on the front straightaway and it's by no means full.
Sad.

Btw the only inaugural race at Indy i missed was the first one lol
The only thing NASCAR does right anymore is give us these old races.
Frickin a I’m with ya
Agreed. The current brick bodies are ridiculous.
is that right? ironic
30 years for this Indianapolis motor speedway.
A 1994 Nascar cup series at INDY Motorsport speedway
we are so back
Can we please put this race back on the oval
Wish granted
Miss the old points standing
Hell yes !!!! 😊😊😊😊
Sacred Race really
26:38.
Geoff Bodine should have won this race.
I miss this. Man NASCAR sucks nowadays
You can't tell me Gordon's car was illegal
Typical Dale Earnhardt manages to crash into another car and crash into the wall in the first lap. He was a goof lol.
7 time champ was a good? Ok.
