It's good to know how much water the rooting cuttings needs a d how often they need to be water them. I would like to get one of those moisture meters for sure. Great video as always!!
Troy, good video on this matter- hope your meter lasts longer than mind. It was the same model and lasted just 2 days. I’m extremely guilty of over watering and the resulting dead cuttings …. It’s amazing they need so little water .
i have had good luck so far this one is in its second season and i got 4 out of my last one.. and i use it alot....so here is the secret .. humidity is all you need to grow lots roots.... higher moisture will cause more top grow...and smaller less weaker roots. roots dont need to search for water is why ..but..just humid soil.. will cause the cutting to root and root and root trying to collect enough moisture to put on top growth....and when you feed it the first couple time after pot up you feed it so your promoting more root growth (1-0.5-1)... makes for a nice strong start to a tree
@ - thanks for the reply - as a newbie - I have ran into quite a few examples of strong roots and no top growth - then it just slowly withers away - then I’ve also had nice top growth and little roots - which goes to a slow death of the plant. I have to be careful in that my mindset and watering relates to growing tomatoes and peppers .
Good video Troy. Thanks for sharing. I've ordered some of the Gnatrol WDG for doing my fig pops. How much do you apply when watering? I will try getting the Clonex as well.
