    I remember when you ran from Bayou Segnette to Venice , super far , super tricky , can run a ground really bad in the boat , oyster beds , from fresh to salt and back to fresh , you deserved a gold prize just for the run , then we watched you win , so happy for you mr Mike

    Mike, thanks so much for this video. In my fisheries, especially right now, we have so much of what I call snot grass. I realized I couldn't do top water and the like all the time. I love finesse fishing, but with weihjts was aggravating. Found out about the swim worm. Now Im excited to try it, and like that, it's very versatile. Go, team Mike Ike.

    You failed to mention the twister type tail...which gives excellent action as a swim worm as well.

    Oh can’t wait for this one , remember the old Culprit broad tail worm , paddle tail is still one of my favs for Venice , pitching it in the canes , 1/4 oz bullet pegged

    Swim worming with an underspin... the curl should be up. same for swimbaits. You'll get more action because the blade pivots the tail section upwards. try it.

    Great video, I always have a speed worm tied on. For those without a metal straw, I use a pencil with the eraser removed. The metal that holds the eraser is sharp and goes through soft plastics easily!

  • @jasonjohn1978

    Mike always coming with the juice. Not gonna lie, I’ve only thrown cut tails very little. Always just fished them as more of a finesse worm on a ned head. Definitely going to ad these back into my bag of tools after watching this video.
    So Mike, would I fish the super size cut tails the same way? Just upsize my terminal tackle? I think I have some 10” or 12” cut tails somewhere I’ve always wanted to fish for that bigger bite with.

    Which type of rod and reel do you use? What about line and leader material?

    • @CastingwithKirk
      @CastingwithKirk 11 месяцев назад +2

      I use a 6’6” Medium/Fast action baitcasting rod with a 6:3.1 baitcast reel. You can speed up or slow down as needed. I spool up straight 12lb fluorocarbon for sparse cover and 40lb braid for heavier slop and pads.
