Obviously that is sign of credibility as a music educator, but it is also heartening to know that techno-performance culture and techno-internet culture, at least in your case, are not in conflict here. Also I have just discovered you channel and am very impressed and grateful for your work. Thank you

I'm someone who can't face learning daw software, so I use vcv, and hardware for having fun. These tips videos are great for getting me thinking. So many of the "just do x, y, z in the piano roll or dropdown menu" things get me puzzling out how I would patch that function.
This is on top of the quality production tips themselves!
Thanks, and please keep doing your thing.

a dark(not bass) spring reverb mixed in barely hearable is the way to go
u can manage the tail with a gate.. short is good
i use softube and the arturia
      the right IR's also work
i guess its the sproinginess that makes it fit, normal verbs often sound outlandish

Nice work. You can add fills, mod the decay time, and introduce elements which are non-repeating to break the 16 bar repetition. Sequencers have a random funtion for most things like timing, velocity and note on which can be interesting as the listener cannot anticipate when the sound will trigger.

The clap/snare in the 2nd chart (explaining rushing/lagging feel) are 4 offbeat hits and not on 2 and 3 as in the audio (and visible MIDI track).
Another mismatch seems to be the number of bars per perc type. The workflow diagrams starts with 2 bars for the strong perc. Yet the video presents only a 1 bar strong perc patternn going to 4 bars immediately for the weak perc.
But it was a good idea to use a charts in the first place. Very helpful, I'm just nitpicking.

Something I like to do when I get to 4bar and 8bar is have something that happens on the 4th group of every 7, or 3rd of every five, where I find it can be really distinct as well, like replace a dominant note or hit in the sequence, 7*8=56 so at that cadence it might only happen 2 or 3 times

Hi Alice! Great vid as always, you give all of us a great motivation and will to get better 💪🏼💪🏼may I ask you two quick questions?
    1) If you were to give three percentages of how much you actually use Serum, Pigments and V Collection in your tracks, what would they be? (I'm asking because I've noticed you use Serum and Diva a lot and was wondering if you make most of the sounds with these)
    2) While producing and mixing do you use any kind of headphone equalizer as MorphIt or Sonarworks?
    Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

There is a lot that need to go on for perfect drums, ad 3 kicks 1 for sub mid and high, (depends on the track) snare, clap and reverse clap, some instruments need to go a bit offbeat. Drums need to be pitched, add correct attack and release. Equalize it, add FX, compress and finally add the right swing.
