Actually in the anime they exaggerated Akashi's role in the final game, actually the idea of the 111-11 score was Kise's, Akashi simply agreed to it because even the others were bored to play to who scores the most. And even after the game, Kise first tells that they should have known that Kuroko's friend was among the opponents, but then says also that it would have not changed anything because after a while they would have stopped trying hard because of the difference in skills, Aomine even says that their opponents should just apologize to them because they are far too weak. In the end the only one who always took the situation seriously is Midorima (but of course he doesn't like weak opponents because he hates the ones who don't try their best, so if the opponents lose the will to play againt him he is not happy at all, he respects only the ones who work hard).
Every one of them was at fault. Even Midorima who, even though he wasn't directly involved, still was a bystander to everything they did and just went along without arguing otherwise.

The difference is that, unlike Aomine and Murasakibara, Midorima would still show respect to Teiko's opponents if they play until the hand as hard as they can. @@dianeemaleu2697 "Letting them do what they wanted" is not what Kuroko is doing. That's pretty much like people in an "abusive relationship" that stopped fighting because they don't think they can reach the other person, that does not mean they are condoning/supporting their shitty actions. Akashi was making it seem like Kuroko didn't try AT ALL, but that was not true because he did try. What happened was Kuroko FINALLY reaching his breaking point, him telling Momoi that he didn't "remember" the promise he made to her about them always being friends is pretty telling. Also, it's not uncommon in toxic relationships to see someone hoping the other could be nicer under specific circumstances. This "circumstance" in Kuroko's case was him thinking that the GoMs at least(and emphasis on "at least") could offer this courtesy to Ogiwara's team in consideration to him. Kuroko was not asking something outrageous, to say that he was asking "special treatment" is wrong when he was begging for what amounts to basic human decency. Also let's not forget that Akashi said that in answer to Kuroko asking why they did what they did to his friend's team. Putting aside the whole Ogiwara vs Akashi debacle and whether Ogiwara deserved the backlash he got it does not change the fact that Kuroko was his friend and Akashi seriously hurt his friend. This isn't just Akashi simply ignoring Kuroko's pleas and doing whatever they did as usual what he did was deliberate. Kise might have the assholish idea but Akashi sanctioned it. Akashi is not stupid, there's no way he wasn't aware of how much his actions wouldn't hurt his friend specially after he became aware of Ogiwara's connection to Kuroko and after Kuroko's plea when it was clear as day how much this meant to him. And Akashi was trying to justify that. You know, going out of his way to be as disrespectful as possible to Ogiwara's team just to make his distorted point to Kuroko, hurting others and even him be damned. Akashi was in the wrong. There's no justifying what he did here and Kuroko didn't deserve AT ALL what he received, not from an aquaitance and even less from a person who's supposed to be his friend.
They cut off so many things from manga because in manga when Akashi and ogiwara meet he said to Akashi that why do you play basketball, is this right way, do you have fun playing like that and etc.. Which was pretty rude towards Akashi, you definitely shouldn't say anything like that to the other team especially to Akashi the emperor. Even when they meet Akashi was mannered and didn't say anything disrespectful to him but ogiwara said all that to him which they didn't show in anime. He changed because of the team which made him change and whatever is happening is all because they just got too powerful I don't get why people blames Akashi for this. He is also going through immense pressure he has been told only to win and that's what he is doing. Kuroko will never understand how all of them feels because they're all on just another level so you can't blame any of them for there actions because at the end of the day they are just kids playing and just too powerful and want some real challenge.
