Don't be dissapointed. Rakuzan lost now, but they came back as winner in the next year winter cup (the author said this in an interview) Also, every match with kisedai seirin always won by 1 point. Remember the 111:11 score back then in Teiko? It looks like Kuroko take all those 1 back xD
@@daniellzz77 hello! Sadly I don't have the link. I saw someone translate it back then. It was interview from a comic magazine, if I remember correctly.
The discussion at 7:40 I totally agree. A logical move made by Akashi would be to just hold the ball and not shoot. Anything that guarantees a win will always get first priority
well the time was more than 24 seconds so even if they try to hold the ball only, seirin will still get a possession, so a good move is to secure the win and try to score. And still even if they were just trying to hold the ball and try to pass it, izuki will steal it nonetheless
I feel yall on Seirin having plot armor through the winter arc, but also it needs to be said that despite appearances, the Seirin team is straight stacked: 1) They're the only team that has two generation of miracles level players on the starting lineup: kuroko and kagami. People sleep on kuroko but that's his thing, his power isn't beating people in 1v1s but providing a huge power boost to team plays. Then of course there's Kagami who has the best aerial abilities out of all gen miracles and is close to Aomine in agility and game sense when he's deep in the zone. It can be argued that clutch/flawless team play combined with the best aerial player is more untouchable than even Aomine's agility, who can be slowed down or distracted on the ground, and directly counters Midorima's long-chargeup super accurate 3s. 2) They have arguably the ex-strongest Uncrowned King, Teppei (nerfed only by having his glass knee). His whole thing is versatility, since he has the game sense of both an inside rebounder and a point guard at the Uncrowned Kings level, and his ability to adapt is captured in his signature skill, Vice Claw, which lets him change plays on the fly even though every play sees 100% commitment/effort 3) They alluded to this throughout the series, but Hyuga is the 3rd best shooter in the anime, behind only Midorima and VERY close to Mibuchi, so he's approaching Uncrowned Kings power levels, especially in clutch moments where his shooting shines. At the end of the anime where he brute force copies the earth shot, it can be argued he's on par with Mibuchi in that exact moment 4) People also sleep on Izuki, but he's in the upper tier of smart thinkers in the anime, and Eagle Eye is a pretty broken ability that provides a further boost to plays made with Kuroko and Kagami. He can't physically keep up with gen miracles or uncrowned kings, but the last episode shows he learned a thing or two from uncrowned king Hanamiya, who essentially trolls other teams into making bad plays. In the last minute of the game, Izuki uses his knowledge of the other team and their habits against them, deducing where the ball would be passed and making that clutch intercept. It's definitely a fair point that Mibuchi, their best shooter, attempting to pass the ball inside where both Kuroko and Eagle Eye are in full motion is just bad writing, but I think it's also fair to say that this is where the anime was trying to go as far as Izuki's character development. Other than those yeah everyone else on seirin is basically a random. But still, two generation of miracles players, the most versatile uncrowned king, another uncrowned king in clutch moments, and a player who can see plays like pieces on a chess board at all times is a pretty stacked combo
Thank you for this comment. Also they got drawn in by the solitary superstar ideology of the Generation of Miracles and totally missed that The Basketball which Kuroko Plays is team ball. People start talking about Akashi's teamwork but it isn't quite the same if you remove Akashi Rakuzan's team play falls apart. To synch up plays purely off of eye contact was something they achieved because they know fully how to work with each other and how to connect their plays with complete trust. Rakuzan was still a group of strong individuals at the end of the day. Call it plot armor if you want but Seirin losing would be the writer not following through on the core theme and main plot point of the whole story
Good story. Wish there was more, but at the same time, I'm glad they didn't drag it out and ruin it. Also, don't know/remember if it's been said before, but This show has a lot of great voice actors that are also in Attack on Titan. To name a few examples Hyuga is Reiner Braun Akashi is Levi Ackerman Midorima is Erwin Smith
I can't believe you're already done with the series :( it's truly been amazing reliving the memories with you guys. I hope you react to the movie because the series basically prepares you for the movie.
When Izuki said their pride will make them shoot they are saying because rakuzan has won so much they don’t just hold the ball too win they wanna win by shooting atleast one more and they would pass to who kyoshi is guarding bc his knee
Tbh Seirin should have lost against Yosen maybe even the 2nd time against Aomine, I love this anime so much but the plot armor is pretty high lol especially vs Akashi and Rakuzan
Regarding Seirin's team strength, Kuroko and Kagami are basically GOMs. Kiyoshi is an Uncrowned King, Izuki and Hyuga have been shown to catch up to Uncrowned King level based on how they held their ground against Hayama and Mibuchi in the finals
When I started watching KNB, as a basketball fan, I was hyped. Now I know the rules and when you actually play the game and watch it in real life, you start questioning things that happen in KNB (time in the paint, travels, shooting motions, etc…) but by making it this way, I believe the creators really made it entertaining and fun to watch so I enjoyed it a lot
Some people in the animation teams don't really understand the rules, so the parts they make may seem violations. Anime is drawn by a group, not by one person, so this may happen. And also, this anime is an adaptation from manga. In manga they don't show the motions, so the anime team must figure it out themselves.
@@longdang1119 considering that the fist time Kuroko performed ignite pass in the manga was a punch it’s quite sure that the author is not exactly an expert of rules…
I hope you guys can check out Ping Pong the Animation and give episode 1 a try. It's 11 episodes long and an amazing story for growth of characters and the animation is really good. The art style might be a bit off putting but honestly it grows on you on the first episode already. It's definitely my favorite sports anime out there ^^. Also nice to see you finally catching up on kuroko
Congrats on finishing the main series! Really enjoyed this journey, your reactions are so legendary. You guys are gonna love the movie- any plans to go back to watching haikyuu now that you're caught up with Kuroko?
Rakuzan is literally all about pride, such a proud team wont win by just hold the ball, that would be like erasing who they are. They had to win by making that point to show who they are
I wouldn't say the last offense play of Rakuzan was that dumb but it's not smart either. They had 30 secs left and committed a TO with 10 secs left they actually used around 20 secs in the shot clock and took the best opportunity against Teppei who's playing with a foot.
To explain the whole pride thing, simply put all of Rakuzan including Akashi are all extremely self confident individuals they take great deal of satisfaction in winning because it valdiaties their superiority, Akashi does this because he has to live up to the expectations his father has for him, the uncrowned kings do this because they have great pride in their titles and view themselves as above most players and because of that they only compare themselves to people they view as equals this is why the center of Rakuzan (forgot his name) changed his position from power forward to center so that he could face off against Kiyoshi who was considered the best out of the kings, we also see this in the generation of miracles who had to compete against each when no one could rival them this is why many of them are angered easily by weak players challenge them and its why Rakuzan can't hold the ball to them backing down from the challenge of what they view as an inferior team clashs against how they define themselves as uncrowned kings, basically to them holding the ball would be equal to losing because if they don't win overwhelmingly and prove their supremacy than they are the same as any other team hence why they went for the point.
To be honest tho even if they hold the ball Izuki and Kuroko are ready to steal the ball so either way seirin won. But it's whatever their highschoolers it's anime and it's hype XD
