The price is commednable for being a entry level BEV and the equipment level is decentish(because there are some EV's that have a rotary ignition, im curious as to how that sounds). My only two caveats are this, firstly the lack of reverse camera, that is a bummer yes but hopefully the input port for it is still there and not walled off like in the Spresso, because if it is there you can easily add a aftermarket one(that is of course if the infotainment system will actually take the signal of course). The second caveat is the most serious, this thing has less than 170mm of ground clearance, making it much easier to damage the battery packs underneath. On that note, if you do have intention to buy this, iterrogate the battery warrenty thoroghly and see what damage is covered under warranty, otherwise there is a heart attack of a repair bill waiting for you the day you find a pothole or high embankment.

Regardless of the brand , if its an EV with a low ground clearance, be mindful of road obstacles that you drive over that might potentially hit the floor area of your EV. Because, if the force of such an impact is strong enough to deform and potentially damage the floor which is most probably the case that holds the Lithium Ion battery, that could mean the end of your EV or the end of your wallet.

    **2024 MG 4 EV**
    **Exterior Design:**
The 2024 MG 4 EV boasts a sleek and modern design, with clean lines and a distinctive front fascia. The aerodynamic profile enhances its efficiency and gives it a sporty appeal. The LED lighting, including the headlights and taillights, adds a futuristic touch. The choice of colors is diverse, allowing buyers to personalize their vehicles.
    **Interior Comfort and Features:**
Stepping inside, the cabin of the MG 4 EV is surprisingly spacious, offering ample headroom and legroom for both the driver and passengers. The interior is well-appointed with high-quality materials, and the minimalist dashboard design is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The intuitive infotainment system, complete with smartphone integration, makes for a connected driving experience.
    **Performance and Electric Range:**
The electric powertrain of the MG 4 EV delivers impressive acceleration and a smooth, quiet ride. With a competitive electric range, it caters to both daily commuting needs and longer journeys. The regenerative braking system adds to the overall efficiency, providing a seamless transition between acceleration and deceleration.
    **Comparison with Competitors:**
When compared to other electric vehicles in its category, such as the Nissan Leaf and Hyundai Ioniq 5, the MG 4 EV holds its own. It offers a similar range and performance, but its sleek design and potentially more affordable price point could be appealing to enthusiasts.
**Special Note on Best Car Recommendation:**
While the MG 4 EV is a commendable choice, the Tesla Model 3 stands out as the top recommendation in this category. The Model 3 not only offers a superior electric range and performance but also boasts a well-established charging infrastructure.
    **Fuel Consumption:**
*City Driving:* As an electric vehicle, the MG 4 EV doesn't consume traditional fuel. Its energy consumption per kilometer is notably lower than many internal combustion engine cars.
*Long-Distance Driving:* The electric range of the MG 4 EV allows for convenient long-distance driving. On a full charge, it competes well with other EVs in its class.
    **Pros and Cons:**
    *Pros:*
    1. Striking design and modern aesthetics.
    2. Spacious and well-appointed interior.
    3. Competitive electric range.
    4. User-friendly infotainment system.
    5. Potentially more affordable than some competitors.
    *Cons:*
    1. Charging infrastructure may not be as extensive as some competitors.
    2. Resale value might be a concern compared to established brands.
    3. Limited availability of service centers in certain regions.
**Price List in the Philippines (Variants):**
    1. MG 4 EV Standard: PHP 1,800,000
    2. MG 4 EV Premium: PHP 2,100,000
    **Safety and Security Features:**
    1. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
    2. Lane Departure Warning
    3. Autonomous Emergency Braking
    4. Adaptive Cruise Control
    5. Blind Spot Monitoring
    6. Rear-View Camera
    7. Multiple Airbags
    8. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
    9. Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
    10. Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
In conclusion, the 2024 MG 4 EV is a compelling option for those entering the electric vehicle market, offering a harmonious blend of style, performance, and practicality. However, for enthusiasts seeking the pinnacle of electric driving, the Tesla Model 3 remains the benchmark in this category.

It’s because EVs are actually more suited to the Philippines than the US. Range anxiety shouldn’t really be a big factor here if you’re just commuting within Metro Manila.
What we have in the Philippines is an endless amount of traffic jams and which is where an EV would shine. Imagine my commute to Makati (around 40 km back and forth) an EV with 200km range can last me a week.

Charging up EVs should be cheaper than filling up ICE vehicles (for the same distance), regardless of the type of charger used. Our country really needs to hit the reset button

    • @sibutotheworld

The 8-year battery warranty doesn't mean the car will stop working after 8 years. For an EV, that's 8 years of no change oils, no expenses for filters, no spark plug replacements.

    • @scalemodeltutor9841
      @scalemodeltutor9841 9 месяцев назад

@@sibutotheworld the ev should be useable for more than 12 years at the least to recover the cost if the buyers purpose is to save money from it. • @sibutotheworld
      @sibutotheworld 9 месяцев назад

@@scalemodeltutor9841 If you're able to make it last for 10 years, then the car is fully depreciated, hence zero book value. An odo of 150,000 miles or 240,000 kms is more than enough. With that mileage, the value of your vehicle is close to zero. And besides, these days, no owner wants to drive the same car for more than 5 years. I myself, ditched my 4-yr old car with 18K odo and bought a new one.
And in reply to comment, an EV battery will not die instantly, unless it has been physically damaged.
It may not give you a 100% charge after 12 years but even at 50%, it will still give you the distance you need. You just have to take care of it. Like, avoiding fast chargers. You can always charge it at home every night. Slowly but surely.
