    I had a "friend" in diablo 17 years ago who sent me a link to a program who would dupe my items, or so he said *Ominous music*
    I installed the program and me the young padawan, not yet destroyed by the harsh truths about life were on a server together with my trusted experienced friend, waiting to learn the secrets of duping and spread free valuable items to other peasants.
    Once i ran the program my diablo 2 tabbed up and everything i was wearing was thrown on the ground. For a few seconds i was shell shocked, unable to react while that mischievous little ant looted my items. I tried to take control over my mouse but it was all in vain, the program was stronger and more rapid than my delicate little teenage hands. The only thing i could possible do was to turn off my computer, which i did in a state of pure panic. I just sat there looking into the void of my black screen, hoping that whatever had just happened was just a misunderstanding. Maybe my dear friend had sent me the wrong program and my items were now in his trusted hands.
    I restarted my computer and removed the program before logging into diablo 2 again. The seconds before i got into a server felt like an eternity and i hoped for the best. It was a fucking massacre. He was forever gone and with him were my hoto, enigma, 2x soy rings that i had spent many hours to gain alongside other valuable items.
    A veil was lifted from my eyes and i gained the mangekyou sharingan, or at least the hate that comes with it. If i were to thrive in this game i needed to become like my friend.
    I wanted to get back what was stolen from me and i would use any means necessary to achieve that goal.
    I used whatever brain power i had at the time and like a little rat i joined different servers, applying the right strategy that was needed for the task at hands.
    Sometimes kind souls that wanted to quit the game gave away free items. My hands was not delicate anymore. I sucked up all the best items before the other losers could get them.
    other times i watched in the shadows while people who didn't noticed me teleported to different parts of the world to drop items in sneaky spots for their other characters.
    Once they changed character and teleported to the right spot they would only find me standing there with a psychopathic grin and not their beloved items.
    I wanted them to know that it was me who brought suffering to their doorsteps. My favourite scam which will sound silly but works like magic against people who were like me before i gained the sharingan was the following.
    I offer an item of great value to a price you can't say no to. We have our items in the trade window and i act like i really don't want to go through with this trade. Then i asked a question, like how much mana do you have? While they look for the number i switch the real item with an identical piece of shit item and click trade. They wanted the item so much and accepted the trade immediately before i could change my mind. Like a trapdoor spider i watched as another victim were pleading to get their items back, but no, the door was shut and would only open for another prey.
    After every scam my methods got more refined and additional items would fall into my lap. Time passed and one day a realised that not only had i gained the items i lost so long ago but with them alot more.
    I was richer than i could ever imagine. But it slowly dawned on me. Like a dragon protecting his riches i didn't use them for anything, i just kept adding to my wealth. I didn't play the game i just scammed people and after every scam i lost more from myself. These items deserved to be used.
    I equipped the best items and holy fuck my stats were insane. I joined server after server killing any player that was in pvp mode and stole all their gold.
    Then i simply logged out one day never to log in again.

    Back in the start some I knew would make someone drop an valueable item in town, where it normally cannot be reached by other player, behind a wall or something, it would be like a game of "Haha you can't get it in time", maybe scammer himself would drop a valueable item to show that the other player cannot quickly run and grab it in time before he picks it up again.
    But when other player drop something, they would grab the item with sorc telekinesis.
    Silly, and totally playing on the fact that other player wouldn't know.. worked sometimes. Spells normally don't work in town, but that one did.
    Cannot grab items anymore with telekinesis i believe.
    This was also around time where it was common to have itemgrabber hack, where you just set program to pickup whatever you wish in a large radius.

    The ole swap a Shako for a Cap with an Emerald in it was a pretty classic one, surprised it wasn't mentioned. Also, there were a ton of Anni scams, including: The one-sided caravan in Act 2, the one-sided bar in Act 2, one-sided walls in Act 1, and there were 'drop the game' mods around that time as well. All of these were attempted on me, but none worked except the one that drops the game because I didn't know about it.

      I did this trick in my youth. I am sorry for the maybe five to ten souls I have crushed.
      I also convinced some people to download a "dupe" program that tabs back in D2, force them to drop every item and then restarts the computer. But I am not sorry for that, because they wanted to dupe in the 1st place.

    Your video starts with the biggest scammer though. Tyrael! He single handedly saves the universe with one throw with his sword and he let's us die and fight through the same world three times, for what? His amusement?
    I am also very convinced that Tyrael is the one who locked some chests so that they can't be opened by brute force or magic, just to fuck with us. 'You think you're strong? That you can beat hordes of demons and beasts all by yourself? Open this wooden box! MUHAHAHA!'
    Tyrael wasn't the fool, he's the mastermind. Why do you think he shows up the second you kill baal instead of helping?

    There was also a trade window scam back in the day where there would be an item in the trade window, but when traded it wouldn't trade the item. The common item for this was tal rasha's mask. This could be detected by an item instantaneously being in the trade window when you initiated a trade. Thus, they would trick you into thinking they were going to trade you an item and then you would trade it and get nothing. Sort of similar to the force trade scam.

  • @ThePepe969
    @ThePepe969 7 лет назад +7

    The force trade never existed btw, it was fake all along haha. The green box scam was real though, if a guy would press the green box, you would have a script that would click ur green box automaticly.

    You could also pick up items through a wall in town of act 5, people would ask you to drop your torch to prove you had one. Because you couldn't hold two at once, you would think that they couldn't steal it, but they didn't actually have one and BOOM your torch was gone.

    • @dudeathischair22

      I'll admit i did this once and felt so bad that i gave the torch back to the guy lol. However i did bot and maphack like crazy and got banned for it multiple times, at least that isn't directly hurting other players.

    I dont know if this was a scam or if people were really dumb. My brother and I used to create 2 separate games where one of us would be selling something really valuable like 20-20 grief or w/e and the other one would be selling some random average rare necklace/ring. When people join the first game and make offers for the grief we would say a really really high price or that average necklace/ring, "because we were making a character that really needed it". The target would end up leaving the game and happen to see that necklace/ring for sale in another game, join in and get suuuuper overcharged thinking that they were about to trade it for a grief when reallyas soon as they paid like 20 HRs for some worthless ring we would just leave both games and call it a day.

    Back in the day I think 1.08. When shaftstop cost 30 sojs... would have people full inventory with potions and come outside of town. They would pick up a portion I dropped but they couldnt place it anywhere. That's when you kill them... they would come outside and pickup body but not all of it. They would get overburdened msg. Kill them when this happens and all there items equipped would drop on ground. This is why you can have 100 bodies on the ground now 😀

    • @korhalt3010
      @korhalt3010  7 лет назад +2

      I'm not 100 percent sure on how it works but according to a d2jsp thread forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=256878 "the trade hack requires you to have ftele hack loaded (telehack)" and "The creator of ftele, apparantley had a backdoor on ftele that allows other players to click your checkmark with a certain program. If you have ftele, consider that you have a Trojan, do not worry about having your account stolen, but if you do have ftele I strongly suggest deleting it" meaning that only people with the telehack can be scammed by it. This post was from 2004 and the hack may have been evolved to work without the other person having telehack running.
      The force trade scam I believe has been patched since patch v1.12.

  • @ToxSicEntertainment
    @ToxSicEntertainment 7 лет назад

    That last one is a fun one for me. Not to pull on others but to flip on people trying to pull it on me. Which leads me a short story...
    When I was younger, about 13 or 14, I was playing D2 every single day for hours on end. I roamed the bnet servers, jumping into games when I could and just having a jolly good time. Until I ran across a game titled "Free Uniques for All." At that age, with the lack of Hero Editors and whatnot, I immediately jumped in. Then, a message popped up asking me to type the DND message. I did and got ransacked. Lost everything I had actually worked hard to obtain.
    A couple years go by, I got older and was wise to the scam, and I ran into it again. This time, however, I was prepared. I had about three or four dummy accounts set up for the off-chance I would come across it again. Since I had found a hero editor, I created some items that, on the outside, were just powerful enough to run through Hell difficulty with no problems. However, they had NV states (not visible in game) that destroyed your health in a matter of seconds (thanks to a lovely player over on ladderhall).
    I made the characters on the dummy accounts, added those items to him, and went on bnet. A couple of friends at the time warned me of the scammer and suggested I steer clear of a game titled "Ubers, come join!" Instead of taking their advice and steering clear, I took the shit head on. I joined the game and waited. When I was prompted to type the message, I did so but gave him the dummy accounts with the death items. Once I did, I exited the game and waited.
    After about a half-hour, I join on my actual account and notice, in the chat, that someone is awfully upset. I politely ask the player what happened and they claim someone gave them bad items. Due to having written his name down, I knew what he was referring to. After a solid hour of conversation with the player, I checked his account name and noticed he was on the dummy account. I started a game and asked him to join. When he did, I revealed what had happened. What I secretly, or not-so-secretly, had done.
    After moments of silence, he responded with "fuck you" and I haven't seen that account or his scam account since.

    Don't remember why but when I was 12, back in 1999, I was conned into a drophack. I only lost like two items before I yanked my phone cord (loldialup)

    I never understood how do people dupe items in multiplayer

    • @dom2970
      @dom2970 7 лет назад

      I used to know a way on diablo 2. You had to have a bone mancer and a meteor sorceress. The bone mancer would have to have fast enough to cast rate to fill the screen with bone walls and the meteor sorc would cast meteor in the spaces in between the walls. This caused the game to disconnect and you could drop all your items and rejoin the game as the same character then drop them all again! :D Was fixed a long, long time ago though.

      Huh, that sounds very risky

      There are numerous ways to dupe items. Like Dominic said by making the game lag or making the server crash is one of them but I also remember a fairly common one where you'd create a copy of your characters files, enter a multiplayer game, trade all your items to a mule or someone you trust and then place the old character files back into the Diablo II folder. Duping has for the most part been fixed and is considerably harder than it was in previous years but I believe it's still possible and pretty common among non-ladder duelers.

      When somone leaves a game the server saves all the characters in that game, but not all at once. It saves in order 1 to 8. If the 8th player drops an item and is picked up by the first player and leaves, all you have to do is crash the game before it finishes saving all the characters.

    Pffft. These scams are weak... Fooled once by the trade scam I will say day 1 of playing.... However what about Town Tele when you had to drop Anni to trade it... Or the A1 Wall run around with a pally or Sin..... How about the a5 Wall pick.... How about the A2 Palace scam where I literally made people drop connection from game while trading anni... Hahahaha God this game was great!!! :)
    It was a work of art when you talked someone into dropping their best shit and teleporting over to them in town. XD

    You missed the drop trade scam for torches..basically torches couldn't be traded in chat window so people would go to act 2 i believe it was to the palace..how its supposed to work is one person stands up in the palace up the steps the other person is down on the ground outside the tower to the left..both players drop their items and run to the others to pick it up..if this is being done legit it actually worked out pretty well..if the person jacked around and picked up their item to try and beat you they didnt really have a chance before you would notice it and just go back and grab your item and leave the game..I guess this one is technically a hack because what you had to is alter the game files..its been a long time but i remember having to download something and edit something within the games files for it to work..i would be standing in the palace we would both drop and all i had to do was click on a specific spot on the screen and it would cause their entire game to crash basically like an alt f4..then you just run and pick up their shit when they dissapear and boom pwned...Not gonna lie I did this a lot lol

    I scammed people by becoming their friends and gaining their trust and then one day I would ask if I could play on his sorc or druid saying that I have never made one or w/e and then scam his entire account. I also use to dupe a ton of items and I sold to this guy for a ton of real $$$ then ended up stealing it all back. I was evil on this game.
