- Today I'm finally starting a new Pantone challenge and I'm excited to take you with me for the beginning! I needed another challenge after I finished my sketchbook in March so I decided to start painting my new set of 50 Pantone postcards! In this video I'll paint the first three and tell you a little bit more about my process, my supplies and my thoughts and struggles. This is a very relaxed and chatty video so have some snacks and a drink and join with me starting a new painting challenge! ❤️

I also want to clear something I said in the video because I realized later that it sounded a bit weird, but when I contemplated whether I had grown past these pantone challenges as an artist, I didn’t mean that it’s only for beginners or anything, I meant it only personally for me! I felt like a few years ago I was very scared of the white paper when I started painting and this challenge helped with that but now that I’m much more confident and enjoy painting without any limitations, maybe this challenge isn’t the ideal one for me anymore 🤔 But anyway, I just wanted to clear that out in case someone understands it wrong!!! I hadn’t considered how difficult it must be to try and get the right colours on top of bright Pantone colours but now you’ve explained it, it absolutely makes sense! 😮

I’m doing the pantone challenge now and I’m curious if placing white down first (where we need colors to pop) and put the intended color over the white? I think I may try that next!

Are there different colors in the 50 set? I can't decide which one to buy!

But are these cards glossy on the surface? Or are they more matte? I am thinking they are probably glossy??

You could have easily left the door Pantone color with an outline and shadowing.
True! But I don’t know if that would be any less work and that brown door kinda fits together with the gray imo!!
🌻I think you do an amazing job with these challenges considering you haven’t studied color theory as much as you would’ve liked.
