I would like to use heading machine oil. Do you have any experience with this? The viscosity is 68 cst. After use, it will go up to over 400. The oil is very sticky with lubricants, sludge, and bonding powder.
Hi Bas, thanks for your question! We passed it along to the SKF RecondOil team, and their answer is below, but the short version is that it depends on the overall additive package and your specific application needs. If you’re thinking of a certain application and lubricant, you can reach out to them with more details at recondoil.com/contact-us/ and their team will be happy to give you a more complete answer.
From the SKF RecondOil team: “Before installation of a RecondOil Box, we always validate that the oil is suitable to be treated with Double Separation Technology (DST). One of the key parameters evaluated is that the DST does not interfere with the additivation of the oils (evaluated using ICP). After the installation of the RecondOil Box, additive monitoring is also part of our oil condition monitoring programme.”

What about the additives like anti-foam, zinc, calcium and phosphorus? Do you have any long term tests on these elements?
