Wow so glad someone is doing this. I live in the Midwest near Chicago/Rockford. I want to explore so many things. So little time but these videos are gold. Not too long either 🤌
So much has changed since I went there to explore. When I only a few windows were boarded up and the lighting was amazing for photos before that. Surprised you didn’t get caught, I heard recently the police have been patrolling the area and the owner is having anyone found on the property trespassed.
So sad these beautiful mansions being left to rot. But how stupid of the developers, do developers never talk to the target buyer group to see what they actually want? Of course, someone rich enough to afford to buy into these properties would want amenities, common ground areas, and they probably wouldn't like being told they couldn't have kids or pets.
Okay, I actually teared up watching this. And that's not me. Ya know people flip junk houses all the time - then you see this such beauty - such detail - such hope. Than nothing. Just forgotten. 😢
Such of waste of money. These homes were beautiful. Great Channel by the way. I grew up in the Chicago area so its nice to see all the places you post about
I LOVE hearing the stories about the abandoned places you go. But, okay....was that a marble fire place you walked past? 😭😭😭😖😑. So much waste & the idea behind building it.... makes no sense. Thanks for sharing.
No way is it Inverness. I grew up in the northwest suburbs so I know that Inverness is allowed kids and pets lol My sister lived there for a long time too.
Now that is a beautiful mansion. Too bad it's like that. I wouldn't buy one either if there is nothing with it. A million bucks is a bit too much. Are those houses even worth that? Enjoyed the tour. Thanks. Pity.
Do you have any videos of being in that massive mansion? Or any in this neighborhood? You said no land rights, pets or kids? Sounds like no future. There is one house in this neighborhood i liked but its kinda small.
Why not repair these homes? Section them off, place common areas for kitchens and commissary. Rent them out at low reasonable rates. Acquire security 24/7 & seperate tenants by age groups in order to protect the elderly and provide peaceful quiet areas for seniors. I'm sure these mansions have at least 5 to 6 bedrooms; that's enough for 5 to 6 senior couples. This would also provide excellent shelter for low income and homeless people. There's enough property for community gardens and spas/pools. When I earn my first millions this is my goal. The facts of homeless people and seniors being dumped in nursing homes hurts my heart.
If it was worth the money someone wouod have done it no one would leave a gold mine sitting . It’s probably tied up in millions of dollars of legal bills and not financially worth It

Right especially at that price tag. $1.5M is way to much for that!
Just found you and subscribed !! Great job!! Love it that you’re midwestern !!
really good story and naration. hopefully it will be restored.
That's so sad it's so beautiful what's left of it.

Just found your sight. Love the videos. I live in the Midwest near the St Louis Area. Enjoyed watching but it did make me a litte motion sick.
This was one of my first videos ever haha. (Posted it later then I filmed)
Hopefully I’ve gotten better since!
I love the architecture. I wish I were wealthy.
I would love love to live in one of these houses 😊
Hey, why don't you mention WHICH suburb? Are we supposed to guess? Looks like Inverness. Is it out near Batavia?
He doesn’t share the locations to avoid vandalism and theft

The houses clearly were not worth it! That’s why no one moved in hahahaha
Is this in Kane County?

Post-Capitalism insanity. . . Seems this is in Lake Bluff, Illinois and a 2007 article: 'Downsizing goes upscale' covers some of the project.
I HAD to stop watching that camera was just moving WAY TO FAST
