    Ingredients and Measurements:
    Wet Ingredients:
    1/3 cup cream soda (use more if needed)
    1/3 cup evaporated milk (use more if needed)
    1 tsp. almond essence
    Rest of the mixture:
    3 cups all purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. elychee/cardamom
    1 tsp. ground anise seeds
    1 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1 cup butter
    2 tbsp. custard powder
    1/4 cup freshly grated coconut
    wet ingredient mix (see above)
    For the sugar syrup/paag:
    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup water

    These mitai look amazing, Matthew! I like the addition of the cream soda and will try out the recipe soon. Thanks for sharing. I wanted to ask, have you ever heard of putting yeast and baking powder in soft mitai? I was just curious to hear your thoughts, thanks! 😊

      Thank you so much for watching. I have always heard about putting baking powder. If you put yeast, it will be more like a bake texture and more fluffy. It wouldn't have that flakey and crumbly texture inside. One day I may need to try it to confirm the texture. Would probably still be a delicious dessert.

      I have the Trini style rasgulla on my channel already (Indian gulab jamun). I will do the Indian style rasgulla one day. And I will do the dosa recipe soon too.
