By the end of it all I found myself pulling for the Nez Perce, even tho I know what happens. Helluva chase they led em' on though, sure as shit didn't make it easy. Gotta respect that endurance and determination.
I loved this series, I grew up in south eastern Washington State, been to the town of Joseph in Oregon and Wallowa Lake and it's beautiful country, it's too bad they couldn't have returned to their homeland but it's a sad.part of history
Great job as always wish they could've made it sad chapter in this country but jealousy among the tribes cost a way of life that would have ended anyway so sad
Almost finished 'binging' on the Nez Percé history. Excellent ! 'Nez Percé' is French for 'Pierced Nose.' Sounds like 'Neight Pear-Say' when heard. Wonder when they lost that 'tradition' in style ? Introduction of horses perhaps ? Anyone know ?
@@ericcrawford3453 Off all the native tribes I know anything about (always liked history) they are the ones I admire most. Strongly suspect the horse made a difference when battle tactics demanded close facial contact movement while clinging to the sides of the animal, causing irritation etc.
This "video" would have been better if it showed images (where available) of those being referred to, maps, and images of the locations being referenced.
I truly enjoy your stories. As a black American this is true history that we all should have been taught In School.

I've been to the Big Hole battlefield and camped at the Chief Joseph Dam nearby. I can see these places as I listen. Truly awesome video! Thank you!
A sad, sad story. Much courage, much suffering.

Good questions, I don't know the answers but I do know Nez Perce got the wrong end of the gun maybe more so than any of the other tribes.
