I just figured it out.... why the states loves these huge ambulances ...it's so they can carry all the batteries to power their disco lights.

Oklahoma emergency, they have 5. When heroes next door did a tour on their station 2 of them were out of service...

That marching band was great. Teaneck VAC put on a show for sure and the light bar on the GMC looked new is it?
The Boeing Kid the only new lights on the gmc after the most recent refurb in 2006 are the grille lights to match the other ambulances that was done in 2016
especially considering that NJ ambulances are BLS and cant do much more than advanced first aid.

iiOregon_Law there's never a case of they have "too many lights". They just do it for fun and to get people off the phone and on the far right side of the road.

As a former EMT, I’m a strong proponent for having eye-catching warning systems. These ambulances though... what a Frankenstonian hodgepodge of warning lights. I can get past the fact that not a single rig has the same setup because it’s a volunteer squad, but holy crap... two full-size light bars, a full-size light bar’s worth of grille lights, surface mount lights on the corners of the boxes, sawed off Vector pods on the fenders and, because all that wasn’t quite enough, a dual element dash-light. And that’s just the front of the ambulance. Ugly, ugly, ugggggg leeeeee.

those are big ambulances, and I very certain that one at 4:01 use to be a armored car o.ol

It’s an original custom ambulance built in 1989. Nothing armored about it but it does look very mean looking coming down the road to give it that appeal

Yup!
I realise that emergency vehicles need lights and sirens to raise alert other road users of their approach and responding to an emergency...
But I was a patient needing to go to hospital I'd be embarrassed being transported in a Teaneck ambulance, It's so inconspicuous that my grandmother's neighbour's pet dog might as as well be posting it on facebook!
Getting other road users attention is necessary but that level of sirens and light is not necessary and it just seems undignified to be transported in.
