I just hate the fact that so many brands still ‘expand’ their shade range as an after thought 😐
Well, most brands dont have a huge budget starting off? So they kind of have to do that. It’s the norm for smaller brands. Like, people are upset when brands don’t start off with 40 shades like Fenty but they don’t realize that Fenty was literally bankrolled by a large corporation and given a 10 million dollar budget.

@@user-uv4tv9po9j if they start off with 10 shades it's fine, as long as the shade range is good. The problem is that a lot of brands don't have shades darker than medium. And after they get dragged they create darker shades. It's really not a budget problem, it's the fact that they completely disregard dark skinned people
A lot of brand have been around for many many years and hadn’t been called out for their lack of shade ranges until the past several years... whilst it’s wrong, at least a lot of them have stepped up and are trying. It’s unfortunate they even have to when it should’ve been done in the first place but good for them now.
@@kieramcgregor there have always been complaints, that's why brands like black opal and black radiance exist. But because of social media our complaints are now heard by more people, and those who are just now hearing about it think it's a new issue
At this point if Hourglass come up with any dark skin friendly products , we should boycott it. We cant be here begging brand to include us. I despise Hourglass

I heard the e.l.f sheer tinted powder is a great drugstore alternative for the airbrush flawless powder. I don't have the Charlotte Tilbury one so I can't give a proper comparison but I do have the e.l.f one and it's actually really great, it's also a lightweight tinted setting powder maybe you should try it if you're looking for a dupe/alternative for the CT powder 😊

Awesome tutorial Tammi, it seems like Charlotte Tilbury has some amazing products, but I still don't think her brand is very inclusive. Plus, I don't think her bronzer and pressed powder compacts doesn't contain enough product for the amount of money you pay for them. I truly think her brand is way over hyped.

Why is the brand not 'inclusive'?
I get that CT eyeshadows dont do it for you, given your usual colorful looks (which I always love), but I have to say, your eyes look gorgeous in this video too! Though I do see that this kind of neutral look could be created with practically any other brand, one wouldn’t have to spend that much money. Anyway, my compliments, you look stunning in every video and I love being subscribed, your content and personality bring me such positive vibes.
CT Eyeshadows / Quads are designed for a more mature client over 27. -- I’ve seen Wayne Goss say it before & I 110% agree, as you age, you still want those shimmering Eyeshadows, but they’re not complimentary on older skin. -- CT has solved this by have just enough shimmer & sparkle for her older clients, but where it won’t age them either. -- CT Eyeshadows will most likely leave disappoint a younger audience.

I just don’t think makeup products should be as expensive as Charlotte Tilbury products are. We all know that there is a huge mark-up on makeup, and high-end brands are guilty of placing a higher mark-up on the same product that an affordable brand produces - you’re just paying for the different packaging and designer name. Makeup should be accessible to everyone and this shade range, this price? It’s a no for me.

Absolutely agree. And the fact that she caters to white people only, and then for everyone with melanin as an after thought, and grudgingly so, and never for rich deep skin tones, puts me very off this brand.
I cant stand her, nor the way she speaks. Besides, all tutorials I've seen of her doing makeup were horrendous. She doesnt have any talent. She was so condescending and horrible when she put on makeup on a famous gorgeous muslim woman, and didnt understand her facial structure or anything else. She is a perfect example of less than mediocre being celebrated and supported merely because its white.
I imagine that the choice to keep her products in the lighter range and the price point is a conscious and deliberate decision. She wants her brand to be "exclusive". She can keep her blah products.
PS: I don't appreciate when people (youtubers) insist on the "correct" pronunciation of "Tilbury" when they butcher foreign-sounding name almost deliberately.
Some people can afford it. Everyone should buy what they can afford.

The products of hers that I have tried are very nice, but I hate that they are not inclusive to deeper skin tones. It’s 2021! if drugstore brands can do it, surely these expensive brands can..
This is the second video where irony has struck! I was just in sephora yesterday talking to the sales associate about how I wanted to try the setting mist and the powder because you recommended it lol
I decided to not support her because I don't like that she's not really inclusive. A lot of her products are just borderline too light for deep dark skin and for the prices I expect more. And the few shade extensions she has feel like a cash grab.
But you still created a lovely look.

@@rianne_9042 her skin/complexion products are where it’s at 🙌🏻, not in terms of shade range unfortunately but “worth the money” her eye shadows and palettes I own a few and they are so cheaply made but so high in price when it shouldn’t be. I got the palette that has the blush/contour/highlight in it and the packaging is cheap their is hardly any pigmentation it was gutting especially for £60

As a tip, if the lightest bronzer is too pale use it like the airbrush flawless finish powder, just get more fore your money and it’s refillable

I was able to finally buy something from Charlotte tilbury line I got the airbrush finish setting spray the mini thou. I thought I was going to give me this beautiful glowing finish but nope.
I got my daughter the product The Inkey list niacinamide helps control excess oil and she test it out today while working. She get super oily and she hates it so much, but now she’s in love. You should try it
Am obsessed with Charlotte Tilbury makeup, I love all of the products I have from her and they work perfectly with my skin. Pricey but worth it in my opinion

CT as extended shade range and is more inclusive, because now belongs to Estée Lauder companies.

I love the CT airbrush powder (I have 2 backups) and her Hollywood flawless primer (gorgeous) but the rest of her complexion products.... the foundation formula is great but it runs soooo warm. I 100% agree her colors are off, even for light/medium skin like mine. Have to depend on concealer to balance out the orange.

My Airbrush FF is number 3 Dark and I was like you, you have to try it and I’ve had it since it launched and I’m going in on my project pan 😁👌🏾
She has another highlighter that suits darker skin more, it’s called magic star, it’s deep golden and stunning, it says limited edition but it is still available on her website, I have both highlighters and I love them both. Check out her site and if you want the limited edition darker deeper highlight get it before it goes.

Thanks for the very helpful review on CT. I'm late seeing your review, but have the old No7 Lift & Luminate Finishing Powder in Medium and it just blends into my skin. I think we are shade twins (Shiseido 440 Amber)? Did you know that No7 recently expanded their shade range in the L&L Pressed Setting Powder? It is no longer called 'finishing powder' and there are now five shades. Also, Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Powder is translucent (for us medium and medium deep skin tones) and is waterproof.

In 2022, it’s crazy, but not surprising for certain companies. I remember when there was no “shades” for people of color; and if one of color wore what was availability, it was a ghostly look. It spoke to the perceived irrelevance of the African diaspora. Then came Ebony Fashion Fair, followed by a few others down the line. Like everything else in desegregation, when known how well economically we can do it for ourselves, an interest is peaked! Hence, the introduction of additional shades and targeted products; or just buy the whole thing. So, support black products wherever, whenever you can, especially, if the company recycles some of the wealth back, for example, in the form of scholarships, etc.
Really beautiful look, love all these colours on you! To get more of an intense metallic shine off of the shadows press them on with your finger, works wonders, especially with that Icons palette! The loose powder has olive oil in it, which is what gives it that scent. So there's nothing wrong with it and it hasn't gone 'off', but i do agree it's not the nicest scent for a product to have....

FYI: if your budget allows, there's a payment alternative that is interest free on her web site called afterpay that we have in the states. I can't say I it's abroad. AND! If you hurry, you may be able catch the airbrush foundation and powder combo that is about $72 ÷ 4 payments to make it easier to try her line.

I didn’t know you were 27 (you are young- I am 24 lol). I never really heard of Charlotte Tilbury until I started watching your video. I love the overall eyeshadow look. I think out of the Charlotte Tilbury products to buy I am going to buy is the setting powder and setting spray. I have combo/dry skin but I am going to get setting spray because we have to wear masks now and don’t want it to run onto mask.

I love Charlotte Tilbury products. I have the beautiful skin foundation, which looks like my skin but better.
As for the high priced products vs. drug store- I got a lipstick in sephora years ago. Now sephora for me is a high price place- I'd only go there to get a perfume for Christmas or sth...That lipstick- it dried for no reason. I had not used it, opened it months later and it was useless. The most expensive lip product I ever got, so tiny, and it belonged in the garbage.
Meanwhile, I still use the same lipsticks I had bought before getting that Sephora thing...I bought them in Rossman (sth like Boots in the UK) and they are not Maybeline- they're from the teenager shelf lipsticks. Not sticky, not dry- everything is fine with them in 2021.
I’ve had my Hollywood flawless filter for 2 years now and it’s only just half way through 😅 Lasts FOREVER. It’s probably expired now but I refuse to throw it away because of the price LOL

On Cult Beauty they have Charlotte Tilburys 2019 Christmas highlighter which is gold and would look amazing on your skin tone. It's kind of similar to macs whisper of gilt. She definitely needs to expand her highlight range!

I wish they had a Mini of the Hollywood flawless filter for those of us who want to try it but don't want(or can't afford) to spend the big bucks on the full size.

I would love to see CT expand her film star bronze and glow duo to include a matte bronzer/contour shade for deeper skin tones. The current “dark” one is literally just two highlighters for me.
As others have mentioned here, I dont believe releasing deeper shades as an after thought ought to redeem a brand that deliberately chooses to create chatter by releasing products suitable only for super pale people. We need to respect ourselves, and steer clear of brands that don't cater to us, and support brands that don't make deeper skin-toned people beg for inclusion. The "exclusive" brands can stayed fucked, and we can give our money to plenty of other brands that are living in the current century.
