I have loved the rule of five. It has challenged me to look into my goals and identify the tools I need to realize my goals and work at it intentionally and consistently. I have also loved rule 9 'seize the moment' and rule 10 'live an intentional life'. I am thrilled about the journey I am starting after watching this video.

John Maxwell is an incredibly inspiring and motivating speaker. My brother, this video has inspired me so much that I started commenting and before I knew it, I'd gone overboard. I'm riding high after discovering that I'm featured on this month's cover of Darryl David's Power Agent Magazine. I'm inspired brother. "Dreams are free, but the journey isn't." "Seize the moment." "Live an intentional life.' I love how this video starts, when he says we must ask ourselves 2 questions. What am I doing to develop myself? My grandmother told me that if I don't take care of me first, I can't take care of others. She said she can't teach me to ride a bike because she never learned to ride a bike, but she can show me how to be the best rice and beans in town because she raised lots of kids on that delicious rice and perfected it through practice. I will admit to you that as an 8 year old boy I had to really think about that one. It took me a few years but at 14 years of age, I got a part time job selling women's shoes at a high end boutique and the top salesperson tried to teach me how to sell but he didn't know how to sell, he was the top salesperson because he worked the most hours and was always there during the rush. When I beat his top record on my 1st full week there, he ended up asking me how I did it. I was honest with him. "I don't know" is what I said. "I just smile and tell ask the girls if I can put the shoes on them." I was selling high end shoes in a high end boutique to high end ladies who went to high end spas that gave them high end pedicures, and at 14 I already knew I had a fetish for beautiful, accomplished ladies who take care of their feet. Add the teenage boy hormones and I was willing to touch every sexy foot that walked into that store. I never bitched when a lady walked in and made me get her 20 pairs of shoes before choosing one as long as she let me put the shoes on her feet. No lady ever said no to me and I always commented on the color of their toe nails and how pretty their feet were. Obviously I was doing something right without being aware of what it was, but it was then that I started developing my sales skills, and the "speak to beautiful women" skills. Today I can teach that because I am aware of it. I developed a great sales technique that is genuine. I believe in the power of making the prospect feel good about buying what they already want but are afraid to buy. I can teach people how to make the best rice and beans out there as well because Grandma taught me how to make hers! What am I doing to develop others? I'm a public speaker and I help others by telling stories like the one above and relating them to their lives. By the way Evan, here are my thoughts on #5! Swing at it FIVE times a day: I want to be the go to Realtor in New York City. (Every day I will speak real estate to someone new, post a blog post, make my calls, ask some questions, answer some questions). I want to be a published, successful author. Can you do a video on Chinese success techniques? A really great one they have is the one minute rule. You do something everyday for one minute and gradually you'll get into the habit and, want to do more. Like learning a new language. When I was in college and, they made us do speeches I learned that there was a 100 words to one minute. You could learn a lot in a minute.
I believe Rule number 9 is the most important. It's true that all the rules are extremely inspiring, but if one is not able to understand that he/she should; seize the moment, go towards life, use your potentials, create and not wait to receive, then he/she can't apply all the other 9 rules.

Can you do a video on Chinese success techniques? A really great one they have is the one minute rule. You do something everyday for one minute and gradually you'll get into the habit and, want to do more. Like learning a new language. When I was in college and, they made us do speeches I learned that there was a 100 words to one minute. You could learn a lot in a minute.

I believe Rule number 9 is the most important. It's true that all the rules are extremely inspiring, but if one is not able to understand that he/she should; seize the moment, go towards life, use your potentials, create and not wait to receive, then he/she can't apply all the other 9 rules.
