New Dawn is alright. Would have been better if they hadn't scrapped Jacob's region. I really wanted to see the what the Veteran's Centre and the Wolf's Den looked like after the collapse.
Yeah, that was a major disappointment. I was really excited to see a lot of places post-war, and I'm glad we got to see what we did (falls end, Rye's aviation, the statue, Joseph's church, the prison, etc.) but I wanted to see so much more. The Vet center would have been cool to actually explore without only you hypnotizing us away, and there were a lot of parts of faith's region that were irradiated that I wanted to see (the marina, Hurk sr's house, the pizza parlor, guy marvel's set, the bliss, and the taxidermy place). 5 was a lot better, but for what it's worth i'm semi happy with new dawn. The map and art are great.
If you look inside John's old home aka prosperity, on the table in the center you'll see a map of Hope county. The map will be the full county as a far Cry 5, but then it has an outline with a black marker that shows far Cry New Dawn's map basically. You can see that there's two huge chunks taken out. I really loved far Cry 5, it was an amazing game and is still fun to play. Far Cry New Dawn is also very awesome. Lots of playability. I just hope they add more content. I want to see: New game plus. More expeditions. (Only 7 ATM) More outfits. More guns. Even more story would be nice. Sadly right now all there is to do after you beat the game is: 7 expeditions Scavenge and retake outposts. Roam the map and scavenge. Achievements and challenges. Farm perk points. Craft/Upgrade guns. Craft Vehicles. Unlock all follower's perks. Still very fun though for the time being.
It's crazy how emotionally invested you get in Hope County. The creators really did make it it's own character and so it's no surprise so many people have an emotional reaction to seeing all these landmarks decimated and buried or falling apart in New Dawn. I know I did. I spent so much time in New Dawn just walking around and remembering what places used to look like. Then I had to go back and start a new game of FC5 as soon as I was done with New Dawn. lol Also, the music is so beautifully haunting. I will linger on the map just to listen to it.
This actually happened to me. Played FC5 when it first came out and absolutely fell in love with Hope County. My favorite thing to do was to just ride around and enjoy the scenery and hang out with the people with Peaches the cougar by my side. I got so nostalgic when I played New Dawn seeing everything destroyed and after having replayed that just recently, I immediately went back to FC5 and teared up a little at how beautiful the land and music is
Even while I haven't even bought the game, it kind of hurts to see the state of Hope county like this. Not because the map is "poorly designed", it's amazing that the map is nearly the same yet so different, but because of so many memories being wiped away. The once memorable church is now a shadow of itself and Rye's farm is nearly unrecognisable.

In the prison mission I was wandering around before doing anything and in one of the cells I found a picture of boomer. A guy was inside that cell too so maybe he has something to do with boomer?

For someone who absolutely LOVED FC5, New Dawn was an absolute blast to play. Seeing how the county I grew to love changed, along with its characters, I had an absolute joy in playing New Dawn. Just finished it today, I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who was a fan of FC5
Oh, these 2 gems became my all time favorites, especially FC5. The music, characters... the whole vibe is such a pleasure. Visiting every inch of this beautiful place, doing random stuff and having a conversation with many NPCs gave me a huge joy. I can play this again and again, I feel no saturation.

i played new dawn for a while one day, and thinking about what hope county became after the explosion gave me shivers, it made me miss far cry 5 so much:( seeing all those locations i used to go, become into nothing, really got to me😪

New Dawn was my first Far Cry game and after having played through it numerous times I finally played 5 and it was definitely weird to see these places I had come to know as being destroyed as being these lively places.

It is INSPIRED (theres a major difference) by reality and cults and sects in America. That much is true. But nothing that happens in the game ever happened in reality neither did any of the characters ever exist. But you are correct that it is inspired by Americas cults. FC 3 was inspared by Pacific Ocean pirates, FC 4 by asian dictators. So maybe if the story inspiration hits your home thats why you like it but the story itself is nothing special.
That was such a beautiful edit !!!! I love it. The soundtrack gives me chills and i think the DLC was genius. When i play them back to back i feel so different and after i finish New Dawn i have such an urge to go back to 5 just to remember things as they were.

Whatever you do in any game, as long as you see the place where your character moved, you will develop, you will feel that feeling of nostalgia and you will feel sorry when you pass by and realize that you are already in other times
this F5 & ND game gives me a pleasant sadness that is impossible to explain. It is a feeling similar to nostalgia, you feel sorry, you want to cry, but it is nice, I want to feel it. I'm not even excited about F6, I just want a sequel taking up the character of F5 again
2 worlds 17 years apart. Far cry new dawn for me is almost to sad to play considering I have over 800 hours played in far cry 5. Yet, far cry new dawn is still a beautiful game.
These are both amazing games, but I still think Far Cry 5 wins just for the soundtrack (and more map to explore). Weirdly enough, I get nostalgic when I play New Dawn and want to go play 5.

I have far cry new dawn and it actually kinda makes me sad seeing all the locations gone
New Dawn was my first Far Cry game and after having played through it numerous times I finally played 5 and it was definitely weird to see these places I had come to know as being destroyed as being these lively places.

It is INSPIRED (theres a major difference) by reality and cults and sects in America. That much is true. But nothing that happens in the game ever happened in reality neither did any of the characters ever exist. But you are correct that it is inspired by Americas cults. FC 3 was inspared by Pacific Ocean pirates, FC 4 by asian dictators. So maybe if the story inspiration hits your home thats why you like it but the story itself is nothing special.
That was such a beautiful edit !!!! I love it. The soundtrack gives me chills and i think the DLC was genius. When i play them back to back i feel so different and after i finish New Dawn i have such an urge to go back to 5 just to remember things as they were.

this F5 & ND game gives me a pleasant sadness that is impossible to explain. It is a feeling similar to nostalgia, you feel sorry, you want to cry, but it is nice, I want to feel it. I'm not even excited about F6, I just want a sequel taking up the character of F5 again

2 worlds 17 years apart. Far cry new dawn for me is almost to sad to play considering I have over 800 hours played in far cry 5. Yet, far cry new dawn is still a beautiful game.

I remember playing this game with my friend when my parents used to get into these horrible arguments, My friend and this game really did help me get past it has it just distracted me so much to the point I sometimes forgot about it all
