Hi Rion, I really like watching your videos cause you are more detailed and thorough in giving direction to an eatery place unlike some other vloggers who'd mention the name of the restaurant but NEVER give instructions how to get there by subway. I'm from Canada and a foodie at that. I always find myself getting lost, going to the wrong exit and ending up somewhere not even near where I was going like when I went to Kobe. Thanks again Rion. In Singapore, we either eat rice or noodles only. Never ever eat rice with noodle until I come to Japan (Kinryu ramen). Also never eat bread with noodles before. Yakisoba Pan. Quite an interesting experience.

The first meal I had in Japan when i visited in 2014 it was Tendon in Akihabara, or close to Ueno (do not exactly remember). It was a chain shop and it was so simple yet so good!

Rion, question for you or anyone with answer. Been to Tokyo about 3 years ago and had omakase at Tokyo Ten restaurant. Yes I believe it might be a chain. I loved it. One of the best omakase sushi I had ever. How does it compare to other restaurants in Japan within that price point. Thanks for any info. I would like to return to Japan within a year or 2. 🙂
Amazingly, the first time I ate at Tenya Tendon was right here in Indonesia, one of their Jakarta branches. The prices are actually cheaper than in Japan, but the quality may be a little lower too. To be honest, we almost have too many Japanese franchise restaurants here in Indonesia. Gindaco, Pepper Lunch, Ippudo, Genki Sushi, Osaka Ohsho, Yoshinoya, Hanamaru Udon, Marugame Udon (sorry I don't remember what name they use for this one in Japan), we have at least one branch in Jakarta alone. Too bad when it comes to the best stuff, like Ichiran and Kushikatsu Daruma, I still have to visit Japan, at least for now. Thanks for this video, Rion. Really made my dinner tasted a bit more oishi. :D

Oh, and I forgot to mention that we also have Ootoya, Sukiya, Coco Curry, and Kushiya Monogatari, and two Aeon malls too, although not exactly in Jakarta. Hey, maybe it is a good idea if you visit Indonesia (again) and review all the restaurants I mentioned. "Nihonjin reviews Japanese restaurants in Indonesia, ....in English!" I bet that would attract a lot of views and new subscribers.

you can check out Osaka Kizu Market, its not very popular but i think it was an amazing alternative. there is also an amazing sushi place at the market. got to be there early in the morning though! oh and its also pretty central in osaka.

Hi Rion. Just found your channel and LOVE it. I've been to Japan 4 times already and had plans to go again for a 5th time this year but had to cancel because of CoVid-19. Since you live in Osaka, can you help me find a restaurant? My wife and I found this gyudon restaurant 3-4 years ago in Osaka. It's in the Tenjinbashisuji shopping street I think. Last year we visited Osaka JUST to eat here but they are closed! The gyudon they served is high quality wagyu with egg in it. We tried asking our hotel but they said we can go to Yoshinoya. lol. We like yoshinoya but this gyudon was sooooooooo good. I attached pictures for you to see what I'm talking about.
