The Crystal Cove historic district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, not only because of its historic use as a beach colony and filming location, but also because of the 46 cottages located there which were built in the 1930s. These cottages are perfect examples of Southern California coastal development in the early 20th century and were preserved by the Crystal Cove Conservancy Alliance. They have been used in several film productions. Since the restoration, the cottages have been open to the public for overnight stays, offering visitors a uniquely California coastal experience.

If I had one wish, it would be to be transported back in time to the late 1950's or 60's or even WWII here at Crystal Cove. Especially the beach parties and holidays. Thank you for the perfect little piece of the joy and magic and the solitude of that sunset, even amongst others, it is so personal. The music was the perfect accompaniment
Thanks for sharing your experiences and perspective on Crystal Cove, one of my favorite locations in all California. In case you didn't see it, my entire Crystal Cover playlist is here 👉 ruclips.net/p/PLGCMSOvWgbrnURZ4c_70OX0SDzlVO42sh -WMM
I love the Shake Shack, I believe the concession is owned by Ruby's. Sometimes the burgers are hit or miss but the view is priceless and its a good $$ option and wait-time option verses the restaurant on the beach. Crystal Cove is just so amazing and was founded by some pretty amazing people who did lose multiple genertion "owned" homes when Irvine Co deeded the land to CA State Parks. but thanks to Laura Davick a 3rd generation coveite it still exists in a form close to what it ws for all to enjoy. Thank you for this ecellent video that encapsulates the vibe here.
So many of those who lived there are gone now, but the history and magic are still palpable. Its sad that California has lost so much of the charm that these vernacular cottages afforded us of the history of that era and our coast is primarily a corporate vacation land, not owned by families who actually inhabit the homes, save for the multi-million/billion dollar ones. Crystal cove does offer a window back to the past when you walk through the tunnel. Thank you for a beautiful sunset!!
