      ✨💖✨Isn’t she just one of the most delightful, sweet, charming, beautiful ladies ever. Yes, I pray she finds much happiness in her perfect home. Who could not love a person who quips, “it will be so nice, that I’ll not cook in it at all; I’m going to live off of pizza.”

    Turning the house upside down was genius. I think I would've gone for that idea. And though the slide is fun, I think I would've installed a lockable gate at the top to control the kids using it without supervision - at least until they were a little older.

      I wouldn't have. The downstairs would have been really dark and claustrophobic. I know they would have been bedrooms, but when it's warm I like to sleep the window open and wake-up to sunlight.
      They probably would not have been able to afford it. The house already had issues with damp, they would have had to take really drastic measures to prevent moisture from seeping in. Waterproofing is expensive.

    Two more lovely renovations. Lindsay is so charming. Glad she got a good builder. Great they showed what modifications are available. Great for anyone. Those over the range microwaves, for example ; lots of people can't safely reach up and use a step stool, not good. I hope she creates lots of new happy memories in her home. Lesson from other build: always have a contingency fund. And keep a bit squirreled away for repairs, especially if you own an old property. The slide is fun and genius. I would start a photo wall of all my guests sliding down it!

    I grew up in a house that was plaster on brick. It was really cold in the winter time. Because of this, I'm not too sold on repointing and leaving the brick exposed on the interior. Especially if the interior and exterior brick wall is the same one.

      @@tamielizabethallaway2413 Oh!!!! I am so sorry! I think I was in the middle (like not TOO bad. I've had friends who haven't had ANY problems!). (I'm 63)
      I remember a girlfriend who was older than me (this is years ago), who would 'layer' (dress) and in the middle of winter (snow on the ground outside), in the middle of a conversation, she'd begin stripping down and would say "My own personal summer... " !! I was so glad to have friends who were much older than me as I learnt so much from what they went through. I know there are things you can take to ameliorate the situation; NATURAL things, like Wild Yam. I take a Progesterone cream (made from wild yam), but there are lots of other things that do help. Go to your local health-food store and ASK their advice. I don't do drugs as a rule and prefer what's natural. ALSO, hot-flashes are triggered by Sugar, Alcohol, Stress ... so, if you can, CUT BACK ON THOSE! That really helps. I do drink wine occasionally and right after, BOOM! Hot-flash (but not so bad as I know a LOT of people have them). I will add a little water to my wine also. You just have to find what works for you. HYDRATE; drink more water through the day. Take time for you (even if it's only 5 to 15 mins). I know a lot of these things seem too easy or simple, but altogether, they help! Plus, there are herbs and roots. Ask! (or Google!). And ... GOOD LUCK!!!!!

    • @eleanoreagly4844
      @eleanoreagly4844 4 года назад +5

      Tsk, tsk, tsk, exceeding budget is recipe for spending a lot for interest and if an income is lost can become an economic disaster. The increase equity has no value until time as sale, however property taxes would increase relative to increase in valuation.

    Such a shame really, that would have been the perfect site for an 'upside down' house! Not sure why Brits seem to be so opposed; I had a school pal whose family built one eons ago, when I was about 11 and I just thought it was the neatest thing & always wanted one, too! (That was England, of course!) Here, is a fab (over-budget!) home, but the living areas are marred with the lack of view & not being able to easily move from living to garden - I know that will soon get very annoying!

  • @andreaandrea6716
    @andreaandrea6716 3 года назад +6

    OMG! You do NOT spray paint IN THE WIND! And she will end up having to use 10 cans of spray where a small pot of paint and a brush would go on THICKER, take a shorter amount of time, look better, cost less and save her fingers from falling off (holding the spray paint nozzle down for a long time HURTS!). Not to mention how toxic spray paint is ... and for the environment?

    I wonder if people choose not to make a choice like an “upside down” home because of fear of what their friends and or family would think. So very silly. Why have amazing views from the rooms you use during daylight hours when you can just go stand in your bedroom and look out the window, keeping others happy. So many people are afraid of new and different. How boring.
