@@themidrange Of course she would be most valuable, that is hard to even think it would anyone else. A'ja is the best point scorer sure. Caitlin Clark is the best Point/Assist contributor in the league, and is even on pace to have the most points contributed in a season by any WNBA player, ever. Ya that is most VALUABLE, plus a bottom of the barrel team to a playoff contender, just like Larry Bird.

      Front runner
      Look at her stats bro
Wilson is just a pure scorer
Very little team value in that
You talked to me about the NBA bro
      So you know the NBA?
The NBA have always given the MVP to the players who help their team win and improve
It's rare they have given MVP just for pure scoring on your own
      Look at stats bro
The NBA would give it to Caitlin
      The W won't
But the W is a political movement not a serious sport
      Bro
You will have to get used to me
Because you know I am right...

And she has created more points from her scoring and assists total, than anyone else in the league
      That's not a Rookie stat
I believe that makes her MVP
Because the best player imo is Wilson, but MVP isn't a best player award
      Most valuable player
Well that's different to best player...
      Valuable?
She brings the biggest crowd in the game
      She sells the most Merc
She holds the most records for any Rookie
She has already made League records of her own (not all rookie records)
She has created more points Vs shots and assists in the whole league this season
MVP.. she makes her team mates score more, and that has lifted the team from bottom to play off hopefuls
The value is beyond anyone else by miles imo
If it was best player award though I would give it Wilson
      Because Wilson's pure points scored
And CCs Rookie problems that need another season to become fixed (like turnovers)
I wouldn't have much of an argument against Wilson for best player this season though
      But most valuable
I struggle to give it Wilson over Caitlin imo

Caitlin Clark super fan here. Great video, very detailed breakdowns of things that are easy to miss and rarely pointed out.
I’ve go zero problems with any of the negative things you pointed out about her game. It’s all very fair criticism and it shouldn’t surprise anyone that there are things she can improve on. In a way, knowing she has room to grow show how high her ceiling could be.
I honestly hope her coaches see this video (I can’t imagine she would, if I was her I’d avoid content about me like the plague or suffer a mental breakdown).

Question in Basketball why are there so many referee mistakes? If watch UK rugby you will see there are other checks in play over referees so they can make the right call. If you watch it no player no matter how big they are have to obey Referee decisions. It seams Rugby is the only main sport that has games controlled. I noticed with all other sports it is left to the ref and huge mistakes are made goals when there should not be touch downs when the ball is out of control Baskets failed because of a clear foul yet nothing done. It is sad that fair play is not in sports the way it should be. For instance Americas women's Basketball team all old players most should not had been there as they already had medals fair play would be a new younger team give them a chance for medals. In Olympic soccer UK sometimes pull out because so many top players that are professionals. It seams sportsmanship has gone as special drugs used and other cheating methods. I like simple if a foul hard luck if a turn over it stands too much cheating seams to be going on in all sports other than Rugby at the moment.

    • @themidrange
      @themidrange  Месяц назад +1

I think refereeing in baskwtball is difficult because it's so fast paced and there's always the balance of trying to keep the flow of the game. There's violations every play but if all of them were called the game would never finish. Not saying the refs are great or have done an awesome job in all these games, but there's a few arguments for why it will never be perfect in basketball.

That's why I also don't do the gossip strategy and race baiting. I think reese, Carter and other players being called bullies is probably not accurate. This is a physical league and most people are used to watching the nba, so when they see the wnba they think there's something extremely broken with it. Basketball in the rest of the world looks much different than the nba. Thing is, the rules and freedom of movement will most likely begin to change and adapt more to the nba style game.

No big deal, she’s hot headed and gets in refs ears. If they’re not going to call an obvious hand push on her, so be it, just call it the same both ways. She’ll “make friends” like all the greats do. The title’s clickbait because there’s no rookie even close to her game (and I don’t begrudge creators using clickbait, it’s part of the game lol), but sure she’s got some maturation to go through mentally and with the pick and roll game.

Click bait unfortunately us the game we gotta play but I try to address it asap, I used this title and thumbnail since ESPN didn't actually have her number 1. I expect it's partially how she got this good in the first place
It will get her into trouble at times though, all emotionally driven moments do
Ask Sky the team who thinks bullying is how you win games and fans
It will save a game or 2 at times also though, because she is very clutch in those highly emotional moments, so she can feed of that energy and up her game for a short burst or 2
      Age should help
Her skills settling instead of developing will help
Her mental development will also help... I was a lot more hot headed in my 20s than I am now in my 40s
The NBA is better, has to be said...

I am hopeful Caitlin and us fans can change that
We don't need to push the black or LGBTQ away, the same way they try pushing us away... I want everyone to play, and that's the difference between us and them
We're for everyone and they aren't
We need to take the power away from them is all
The influence to force problems on official and non official acts
The first thing I want to see is a real ban in male players

sparks actually played defense against clark like they should. no drop coverage and smothering her off the screen. when she learns how to beat that or gets someone who recognizes it, she gonna be unstoppable. and if she starts moving off ball better, she gonna end up looking like curry.
but anyone talking about her as mvp just goofy. a'ja wilson is balling out and nobody is close in that race.

You're not wrong. There's a few coverages she's struggled with. Even this one with the sparks she struggled but still had a triple double. That's how scary she is. 😂

😂😂, CC has had a bigger impact on her team and their turn around from last to a winning record and climbing into the playoff race.
She's also had a bigger impact on the league, attendance and viewership wise.
CC has shattered multiple rookie and league records. Her rookie stats are better than those that have won MVP in the past.
Her rookie season is historic and will go dwn as one of the best, most impactful and productive seasons in history , period, not just for a rookie but for ANY player .
Fastest player ever to 500 points and 200 assists, 2 triple doubles this season, and extremely close to at least 2 to 3 other triple doubles.
Those are just 2 amongst multiple examples of her dominance in that league already.
Especially, considering NO one has been gaurded harder than her, picked up and pressed full court, doubled and blitzed more than anyone and she's still cooking them.
She's a legit MVP candidate 100% and there are plenty of strong arguments as to why she is the MVP.
You pretending otherwise is what's goofy !

She needs to play off the ball better in defence for sure 100% agee with that
She also needs to work on how she can get the ball to a team mate from half court when she has 3 players around her...
Because that causes a lot of her turnovers, and causes her to be hot headed
I won't lie though, 3 players surrounding her half court will never be an easy thing to solve for her! Or anyone!
She seems to manage it better as each games goes on imo but maybe she can improve and get on top of it early in the future
She is MVP in any normal season imo...
But Wilson has played good enough for me to be like?
She played great so no problem really, good for her
I think why it annoys me a little though, is because they tried to steal that ROY award from her
They have refused her player of the week and month several times this season
      So it is sorta like...
      Not this again!
WNBA... Just treat her like you would a black women FFS it's not difficult

Great job .. I got a recess rookie of the Year to get a double double every night when you have guards that are on a very low level get to have that team still in the playoffs is incredible. The reason I don't have CC because as a guard she shoots a terrible 3-point percentage has league leader in turnovers and a liability on defense.. how far is MVP there's no discussion there's only 1 MVP... MVP shouldn't even be a topic for no channels, media, or anyone else wondering it's clearly Aja Wilson..but once again great break down..

Thanks man greatly appreciated. I can understand the reese argument. I wouldn't be mad at either one of these 2 winning but I think the sky as a team are just so bad that it is really going to hold reese back for roty. I think Clark is the easy answer with the team success but again, both deserving.
And for mvp ya, nothing will change my mind about aja except for something crazy happening. I also still have collier and stewie behind aja and ahead of Clark.

CC is closer to MVP than Reese is to ROTY.
I respect your opinion but I don't understand how losing with double doubles can be better than taking one of the worse teams to the playoffs for the first time in 8 years and being among the top in most stats...
Reese could have won other years though.

@@hakancarlsson2881so clearly u never played basketball on a high level. So you don't understand you're just looking at stats you're not looking at all the stats you're also not looking at the position and ur responsibility of the position.. so let me help you out. To have a team that is in rebuild mode the guards that are not on the same level as all the other WNBA teams come in as a rookie computer against the top players in your position in the league and get a double double on them every night and have your team still in the playoffs is extraordinary as a rookie. What is a rookie who has two All Stars a team that was already equipped with good players that were injured last season and now they're all coming back together she can't text me everything the whole story is everything. Well because you never played basketball on a pro level probably not even a high school level you have no clue.

@@hakancarlsson2881@hakancarlsson2881 sorry but I played professional basketball PG I might know too much about the ins and outs of basketball being in and out of locker rooms understanding of ups and downs of different teammates. Something you have no clue about.. but the brother that made the video may or may not disagree but at least he can make a basketball point speaking from experience.. something u can't do.. thanks for being a good cheerleader I rather be on the floor or on the bench with a team ...
