Ted, are you aware of any antenna alternatives for this radio? I am occasionally in a rural area where it is very spotty coverage. I was thinking a non-stubby might help.
Very helpful presentation. Is the TLK100 a two way radio or a cell phone. If it is a two way can you use it while driving which is not the case with a cell phone in California
it's my understanding that if there is no display on the radio you should be okay. There is a Bluetooth option on this radio so I would just pair a headset with it to be safe.
@@TedFreitas Thank you for the reply. The law states you cannot hold the phone while driving. With the TLK100 you need to use the radio button to respond.
Hi Ted, this is one of the best and only videos on the Tlk 100 and I'm really grateful that you made one. I wanted to ask you, did you by any chance manage to devide between the incoming call sound volume and the actual conversation sound volume, did you manage to differentiate them in controlling them separately? Is there such an option?
Hey I just got a Couple TLK. 100s for personal use But I also have a general class license and would love to find out if it’s possible to connect with your mountain west DMR group using my tlk, Is that possible? 73 de W3ROK
Yes you can technically purchase a radio from just about anywhere. They just have to be provisioned in the same system. All of our radios come pre-provisioned the way you want them, so it makes it easier for everyone if you purchase them all from the same solution provider.
Hey ted im in need of your help how do I get more than one channel i bought a couple of them i made the talk groups but the walkie talkies wont leave channel one when moving the rocke4 switch if you could helo me with this it would be helpful
My guess is there is no one in the channels except for yourself. You can probably contact moto wave support and they can troubleshoot the issue with you on the phone.
Hi Ted I was wondering if you have ever had this issue... I cannot talk to everyone unless someone else starts a conversation first, I can message someone directly, but when I hit the talk button I just get low beep
Sounds like you need to initiate a private call to the other person if you are not in a talk group. You would need to old down the contact button on the left side of the radio until you see the contacts. Then once you see the contact push the PTT to initiate a private call to them. Should resolve your issue. If you do not see any contacts or that specific person he/she is either offline or your Wave OnCloud admin has not assigned their contact to your radio. Might have to reach out to your Wave OnCloud admin. Hope that helps!
@@TedFreitas I can only private call someone at the moment unless someone else in the group talks first then my light turn green and I'm able to talk but after a couple seconds of no one talking it goes back to orange

They don't bill correctly and you can NEVER reach them. I will not continue my service after paying all the money I did for the radios! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Is there any LTE only talk groups like the ham groups where you can link with other people across the US?
How do I reset a few walkie talkies. They keep going out
This model is simcard network radio?
Do these require FCC licensing? How many channels or talk groups can a user get?

The TLK service would have to be through us unfortunately. There is no way to cross connect wave oncloud tenants.
Where does one setup the service for these if I order them off of Amazon???
@@franciscosaiz87 you will have to contact an authorized dealer or try and contact Motorola to setup a WAVE account.

Ok thank u
What's a good shoulder mic to get for the radio?
RM250 if you want a wired solution or WM500 for a wireless option. Both work extremely well.
Never heard of these. Are these strictly for Ham radio use only?
Nope, they can be used for just about anything. Just require wireless internet or be in cell range.
Does this have any kind of point to point TX/RX capability if cell service is lost, such as in a city wide power outage?
If you lose cellular and wifi, this will not work.
