I always think its funny when drummers say just play acoustic when probably the biggest reason for people playing electric is the noise factor.

When I used to have my kit I had to skip out of having a kick and would use a muffled tom to fill for the bass drum. So I’d play bass and snare with my left hand and cymbals with my right. Also would use used black hole drum mute. And brushes for when it was late at night

Thanks! Yes! I love the sound. I teach at a Chinese School dance and music in Brooklyn, and they use a drum like this in class to direct the classical and traditional Chinese dances. I was always hearing it and thought how cool it would be to add one to a drum set, so I bought one. :)
