- These two themes of "Le Clan des Sicilens (The Sicilian Clan)" OST are from a Japanese EP record (the title is introduced as "The Sicilians" on the cover). Most probably, this single cut was released only in Japan and this was the first record introduced as the OST of the film to the Japanese. Its release coincided with the release of the film. On the cover, it says "Original Soundtrack" and "Performed by 20th Century Fox Orchestra and Music by Ennio Morricone." These maybe new to many of Morricone fans outside Japan. I don't know why this single cut was released only in Japan and why they were introduced as the OST while they are not the same as the ones included in the OST LPs and CDs. These two themes were never re-released as a CD as far as I know. To me, it has been a big mystery for years and still is. But whatever these are, I still like these EP versions ever since my first listening.
The first piece is titled "The Sicilians Main Theme." The second piece is "The Sicilians Second Theme" which is the same as "Dialogo N.2" in the OST "Il Clan dei Siciliani" album.
I apologize for the audio quality. These are transfer from a cassette tape not from the EP directly.

I know what you mean. I was a kid when I saw this film at a movie theater also. Both drama and the music had a strong impression on me ever since.

Un de mes films préférés d'Alain Delon. À l'époque, Alain Delon était accueilli avec beaucoup d'enthousiasme au Japon et Alain Delon était plus populaire au Japon que toute autre star.
Cependant, à cette époque, il était difficile de distribuer des films et de la musique étrangers au Japon, et les sorties de films étrangers et les ventes de disques étaient retardées d'un an au plus tôt. Cet album est un disque pour le Japon, commandé par une maison de disques japonaise à la société de cinéma, probablement parce que l'original était indisponible pour cette raison. Cette situation d'incapacité à vendre des albums de films originaux s'est poursuivie jusque dans les années 1990.

En outre, l'album LP de la bande originale est sorti au Japon presque en même temps que la sortie du film. La coupe unique était un enregistrement différent du LP pour une raison quelconque. Qui a interprété les deux faces de ce single reste un mystère.

Cependant, à mon époque réelle, dans les années 80, les téléfilms américains Airwolf et Knight Rider avaient leurs propres bandes sonores japonaises. (elles étaient bien faites, mais les performances étaient médiocres), avec l'approbation de la partie américaine.
Il n'y avait pas de version CD originale à l'époque, mais en raison de la popularité quelque peu tardive du film au Japon à l'époque, la maison de disques avait obtenu l'autorisation de le vendre comme un projet spécifique au Japon.😥
Même si les albums de bandes originales de films étaient populaires au Japon, où la distribution des albums de bandes originales de films était rare, ils ne pouvaient pas être vendus dans tout le pays à l'époque, ce qui explique que de nombreux albums de reprises de différents interprètes n'ont été vendus qu'au Japon, planifiés indépendamment par les maisons de disques et les sociétés cinématographiques.😥

I watched this movie for first time in 1988. I was 7 years old. I love Jean Gabin , Alain Delon, Lino Ventura.

you should watch the film. Following the commercial success of the film FF Coppola wanted Jean Gabin to play Don Vito but he was already ill (he died 4 years later) and declined. Jean Gabin was Sergio Leone's favorite actor. The acting in the movie is flawless, it features the three French megastars of the time Gabin/Delon/Ventura

Har lige genset filmen, for gud hvilken gang, og det er ikke negativt ment. Gabin,Delon,Ventura er suveræne. Det er alle andre også. Burde være på listen over Verdens bedste film. Bedste gangsterdrama i årtier, sammen med, Carlitos Way, De Uovervindelige, etc., for jeg kan blive ved. Musikken til "Klanen" er jo bare, SUVERÆN. Morricone for ever.
Jeg bliver også ved med at se denne film med jævne mellemrum. Dette er bestemt en uforglemmelig film-noir. Morricones musik er også så smuk.

Amedeo Nazzari is, without a doubt, a great casting in this film. In fact, he was the only Italian actor among the main characters in this Sicilian film noir.

@@Nualchemist This musical instrument is played with the tongue. I'm not Sicilian, but when I was a child I had this musical instrument that I used as a game. I'm Italian huh.
