I like how author's content grew from "hey, here's cool game tutorial" to "buckle up, we have some military tactics and strategies to learn with out of this world visualization"
He should unironically write a letter to DOD and ask if they would want him as a trainer. Army uses Arma 3 for training purposes...I bet he could land a good job doing it.
These videos are always so well made. I don't really play arma anymore, and I know all this stuff, but I'll still gladly watch something with so much effort and polish put into it.
I really appreciate the effort that goes into these videos. You don't waste time and convey complicated concept in an easy to digest package, keep up the great work.
Never been a pilot in Arma outside of a few dabblings to realized I sucked at it, but dammit I missed this series and your other Arma tutorials. And hell even that said I've learned so much from them, very interesting and educational. I've known about mildots for awhile on my scopes, but never knew what Mil stood for or how universally applicable it was until now.
Your Art of Flight series has always been awesome, and now you've cranked it up past 11 with the visualisations. Seriously great work Dslyecxi, and your content is always worth a watch for me, be it the snippets, the informative stuff, or the near "feature length" missions. Glad I subscribed all those years ago!
Me, a simple man: "guns go pew ha ha.. rockets go boom ha ha ha!" This dude is over here doing calculus in a warzone. All jokes aside, I am thoroughly impressed with your attention to detail. No stone left unturned! Learned a lot man, thanks.
Easily my favorite AoF episode so far. Now I understand why you haven't uploaded anything in the past week - this must've taken a lot of hard work! Also I've learned a couple of obscure but really important things I didn't know, such as the difference between DAGR and Hellfire. This will definitely go you-know-where in the near future. ;)
I seriously love that demonstration of explosive blast and fragmentation. The fact that you can fit all three base stances in a quick and simple spiral is really cool!
I came here to mention how great the visualization is, good to know I'm not alone, it looks great, man. I don't always have time to watch all the longer videos you put out, but I try to always catch these guides.
another video to watch 50 times and learn a new thing each time. I am a pilot for 3 mil-sims and these videos give me an arm and a leg of knowlage over my respected cas colleges
Been waiting for a video like this ever since i saw your first videos on flying heli’s Also to train these different attack angles its very usefull to just do gunruns on the sea as the impact of your weapons is way easier to see
It's obvious there was a ton of work put into this. You didn't explicitly mention "folks that just think it's interesting" as part of the target demographic in the intro, but here I am anyway.
That is a seriously good tutorial. I mainly play DCS but everything is applicable here. To be honest I'd like to get back into helo stuff in ArmA, it feels like the smaller stuff would be more useful.
That moment when you realize a video game tutorial can be so effective that viewers who paid close attention might actually be able to operate effectively as gunners in an attack helicopter.
All of the filming was done between Aug 22 and Aug 24th according to timestamps. Writing the voiceover and the visualization scripts took a week or two prior to that, plus time to record the v/o and edit the video itself.
This is awesome guide, but my prob is simple. I play the old man campaign, so if i choose to steal helicopter, i am going to be only crew, so what concerns me is once i chose "manual fire" mod can i use 30mm turrets at all? I tried hiting Lctrl+right click but that is just camera, it doesnt allow me to act as gunner and pilot in the same time
Would love a video discussing the different types of missile choices with ACE and RHS. I'm getting confused with all the different types of hellfire... K? N? M? L? WHAT.
Awesome visualization! One note on grazing vs plunging fire: for the example with the infantryman and 249 that was technically plunging fire as grazing fire is any distance where the cone of fire doesn’t rise more than 1 meter above the ground. 600 meters is the maximum distance for grazing fire for the M249/240. Assuming perfectly flat ground
Are you sure that cannon rounds do the same damage no matter the velocity? It seems like the AH-80 Blackfoot's cannon rounds get progressively weaker at range.
@@dslyecxi yeah that's the one. I thought about calling into the show and informing them there was flight sim royalty in their midst. Keep up the good work and thanks for the content!
Bro I’m so confused and annoyed 🤦♀️ like whenever I get in to the gun camera view and shoot where I point/aim it bullets or missile never goes to where tf I point at. 🤦♀️ can y’all help

When you mentioned the visualizations yesterday on twitter, I was hyped then. Just absolutely brilliant work.
Yeah, I was looking forward to what he came up with, but I'm blown away at the detail and clarity he's come up with here.
I love how these are back after like 6 years 😎
This video is so good. Great job. The visualizations are the best ones I have come across in tutorials in any game or other thing....
A well explained video of the highest professional quality.
Great video! As an ArmA player and pilot for roughly 9 years, I still learn new things every time, this video was especially educating.

Hands down Best Arma Videos
Fantastic visuals on this one. You're a great teacher.
Good god! The fragmentation visuals show just why this game is such a CPU murderer.
That only happens with mods and can easily be disabled.

These visualizations are awesome. I'd kill for some VR Arma training missions in this style. You set the standard.

The perspective this offers for real world(game) scenarios is priceless. thanks!!!
Phenomenal visuals and explanations, my friend. Loved this.
The visualization makes all the difference. This video is packed with things I never knew.
Visuals are outstanding. Great work.
Awesome visualizations and another well made video, that's why you're the only Arma person I watch
Top notch work. I am stunned you were able to get arma to look that good.
You're such an underrated RUclipsr. These guides are so helpful.
In one word - FANTASTIC! As always Mr. D...
17:45 seeing how far away that helicopter was while still laying down effective fire literally sent chills down my spine
fantastic content as always! very professional!!!
Throughly enjoyed the video. Both highly informative yet clearly shown and not dull in the least.

My lord, the info, but hell, the best info i've had!
The visualizations are incredible, great work.
I feel like I'm revising all those techniques I've learned in machine guns utilizing. Incredible!
You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Really appreciate your tutorials Stay strong, stay safe!
This might be one of the best Mil-sim tutorials ive ever seen... maybe THE best. Def subbed after this lol
The visuals were on point! Lovely
great job! I'm ready for my Arma flight cert!
Appreciate the time you put into your vids man.
Those graphics though, great work. Very clearly explained.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if the army actually used this vid for trainees, perfectly done
Incredible job! Love how detailed everything is explained.
So good. Start over if you have to but keep making these, please & thanks!
Great visuals as always! I keep getting more and more amazed.
Wow. Excellent presentation.
Dude the production is mint, love this!
Been watching you for years. Ive actually become a pilot of a valkyrie in a warhammer regiment
I am amazed by the quality of this content ! Thank you so much for sharing your work !
funny being aware of these effects and then having them visualised so well in the engine seriously impressive stuff here
Great video! thanks!
the visuals are so good kudos to whoever made those visual representations
Thanks - they’re all things I created.
That feel when you turn your littlebird into a discount MLRS
This is gold!
Incredible guide, thanks for taking the time to make this
Thank you so much for all the information, your videos always amaze me Dslyecxi

Thanks for the mature approach to the complex geometry and trig involved in shooting while balancing your unicycle on a beach ball..:-)
amazing!!! very cool..thanks!!!
Incredible content, Dslyecxi
Unbelievable quality
Awesome stuff
This ex an excellent educational video. Thank you!
Wow. So detailed
i like this. i can totally use this knowledge against my auto spawning bot target practise.
alone.
i want friends to play cas medevac...
awesome video learnt a lot

Hello.
Love it.
I would love more in hindsight battle analysis videos.
I neither play Arma nor do i have a gaming pc but this stuff is interesting as hell lmao
Nice
REALLY nice
Cheers!
the beatin' zone is what I call my bed first thing in the morning
What recoil mod is he using at 16:05?
I want Skittles now!
This is amazingly well done, I love this video, I would give it 2 likes if I could.
holy shit dude how long were u recording and setting up that video? thats amazing !

@@dslyecxi great work man. Lets me think about going back to arma milsim 😍
Are there any sources for the scripts used? Would love to fool around with a lot of those, and experience them myself.
Awesome
Could you do a video on when to use different countermesures.
Incredible job. Any way we peasants could get our hands on those modules? Would be amazing for training and testing.
boi you smart!
how can i determine whether i will fire a single FFAR or a salvo from the pod?

That visualization unambiguously shows grazing fire. You’re hung up on an arbitrary number instead of the concept itself.

Is that Rosche I seeee 👍
Yep, really nice terrain.
@dslyecxi. I heard your question, or who I assume was you on Fighter Pilot Podcast the other night.
The Kiowa one? Yep - missed a little bit of the context of the question, but it was still nice to get a response.

What map is this on?
What map was used? it looks beautiful
Chernarus 2020
What mod do you use to see mapmarkers in your hud during play?
It's scripting I've done for myself.
were do i get acces to that damage effect scene with the green men in circles so i can test weapons
and what mod shows the bullet ricochets
They're personal scripts, unreleased. The bullet trace one is based on Hypnomatic's Tracers, but heavily altered.
Bro I’m so confused and annoyed 🤦♀️ like whenever I get in to the gun camera view and shoot where I point/aim it bullets or missile never goes to where tf I point at. 🤦♀️ can y’all help
Will you ever do a video purely about munition type effects that are found in the base game/dlc (IE: all rocket types besides DAGR etc)
I doubt it - I'm less interested in something like "Here's what every individual type of X does", which that would be.
@@dslyecxi Very fair. Ill have to try to find that mod that displays kill distance information then
It’s not a released mod, just part of a collection of scripts I’ve written.
Is this a reupload, or did you for reals drop a new Arma 3 tutorial in 2020?
