Always great reviews; thanks! For getting that lumbar piece to fit in: you have to raise the spoiler for clearance to rotate the lower piece *fully* until the bottom of it is horizontal. Then there are pegs that plug into the inside of the abdominal/torso wall.
That's a pretty good looking figure! My only gripe is the head, but that's an extension of the original design. He looks like he's wearing a bike helmet. Other than that, I think I'll try to get one!
Keanbo Garbanzo Honestly the issue is how his cgi model was designed with the head sculpt. They could just take his body and give him a better head for the reboot and we’d get a good Hot Rod 🤷🏻♂️
Ben, you're lighting setup is excellent, but that was a LOT of quick cuts during the transformation. I was struggling to keep up and understand where everything was going. Doubly so considering so much of it's black plastic that blends together.
@@BensKOllectables It takes an honorable man to pay heed to criticism. Pancrazi started doing the fast transformations a while ago and I almost went bonkers.
@@BensKOllectables Aside from that, you're doing good. Lighting's good. Size comparisons and articulation sections are informative. Stuff contrasts well against the background. Stuff's close enough to the camera to see. And your voice is as pleasant as a cup of tea. :)
Thank you Ben for this review. I pre ordered this one about 8 months ago. I can see it is worth the wait. Very nice job from both DX9 and Unique Toys. Au revoir.
Bravo Mr. Bens..thanks Like UT's output from Lockdown, Optimus Prime and Hot Rods, I like the camero transformation in TF4 age of Extinction. begs the Unique Toys to make Bumblebee TF4 version with a transformation similar to Lockdown ..
That looks great. Not my favorite head designs of the movie with the accurately large space between the eyes and the weird lips, but they did capture the image correctly. Great figure to have.
Hey Ben, loved the video, was wondering if you could maybe do a video of TFEEVO? I wanted to see the alt mode comparisons and also maybe a comparison with them next to Challenger as well? Thanks !
I have the Tfevo. It looks great in both modes. But there too many QC issues with it. The hands and head falls off. He's just less than a nightmare to transform. He just not enjoyable. BUT....as I said. He looks absolutely fabulous in both modes, and he's so movie accurate. He's more of a display not for play piece.
This a much better Movie HotRod than the Tfevo version. In vehicle mode and overall transformation. But, Tfevo looks more Movie accurate in Robot mode. More realistic. Where, the UT/DX9 looks a bit animated. However, if UT/DX9 had dropped first I would've chose the UT/DX9. it's simple yet unique (no pun intended) way of transformation is far more superior and looks fun. His vehicle mode is absolutely outstanding, with working suicide doors to boot, and you can put a figurine in the cockpit. Major plus. I wish they made more human figures to complete these MPM sized transformers. Anyway, I'm sold. Will be ordering him when he's available. Only thing I do not like is the thin tires. I think they could've made them a little thicker. But, he just proved what I've been saying for so long. The over sized mpm optimus fits the scale of the mpm sized vehicles. The official Has/tak mpm Prime is too small and is made to scale with the official deluxe class vehicles. Thanks Ben.
@@pootis9106 sorry dude. We agree to disagree. These are what Transformers with a realistic look and appeal should look like. You may like 80s designs. Ok thats cool. But for me. 80 is as 80s should be. Left in the 80s. Outdated, and doesn't play in a live action film. These are what i would honestly imagine them to look like. Not like shoe boxes with heads or giant walkman ejecting cassette tapes. Just the sound of it sound really idiotic. But whatever floats your boat.
It is a bit disappointing that you didn't showcase La Hire in vehicle mode next to MPM-3 Bumblebee in vehicle mode so we can really see them together in their alt modes. But overall I'm glad to see this figure looks very good and solid in both modes. I'm purchasing one for myself (if the vehicle mode isn't in scale with MPM-3's vehicle mode then I'll sell it). By the way, this figure is more in scale with the MPM line (hopefully in vehicle mode specifically, robot mode looks great but its vehicle mode scale I'm picky about) not the G1 Masterpiece line.
I'm actually on the verge of getting the TFEVO Hot Fire but the not-so-positive reviews prevented me from doing so. Guess it's a good thing that I did as this offering from DX9 seems a lot better then the predecessor even at the preproduction stage. Looking forward to the actual release. Thanks for the up front review Ben 👍🏻.
Just got mine today. The instructions are a little hard to follow when it comes to the waist area and legs. Maybe I'm just dumb. Anyways... awesome figure! Nice and sturdy. Hard plastic. My side view mirror had fallen off inside the package but was easily snapped back into the slot. Mine did come with the 'Vivian' figurine. She did NOT come with the staff that was pictured on the TFSOURE website. I might have to contact them and figure out what might have happened. He comes with his two guns and a magazine clip that snaps into either gun. He also comes with one blast effect for only one gun. Overall, very nice figure and easy to transform once you get the hang of it.
@benskollectables Just got this today. That piece in the mid section does lock in. You need to lift the tail section, flip the piece underneath and push the tail section back in. This lets it slide in. By tail section, I mean the part air flows through at the back of the car.
The driver figure kinda looks like The Baroness. Too bad they couldn't give her elbow joints, too. As for Hot Rod...daaamn, that's nice!! I won't say that it's nicer than their Lockdown, but it's very tempting to do so!!
Engineering for LA Hire truly is leaps and bounds better than Hot Fire. With that being said, I still gravitate towards Hot Fire by pure looks and aesthetics -- a bit more movie accurate, imho. Good thing I was able to get it on clearance, no way I'm paying full price for it. Lol
Perfect action figure from the movies, they should do the bumblebee movie BumbleBee character and the rest of the deceptions, that’s sounds pretty cool to see them come out!!!!
Damn it, I thought I didnt want more movie bots :') Didn't even know this was coming out! My local transformers etailer has this up as dx9 so I didn't pay attention to it. If it had said unique toys i wouldve clicked immediately.

hotfire its more accurate but yeah, has too many floppy parts, i dont mind the transformation though this one has better paint and transformation and that interior sure is nice, but doesnt feel as accurate in robot mode... -_- either way no money for any of them...gotta get the mpm megatron
Hello Ben My name is Chris and I have a question for you, what scale is the human alliance bumblebee? Is it 1/24 scale? He looks so much better than hot fire! He also looks solid in both modes, hot fire looks like he will fall apart if you sneezed on him. On top of that, la hire looks more dynamic in any pose compared to hot fire, hot fire doesn't look terrible in either modes, but his transformation is just terrible
It’s predominantly a KO channel but if the KOllectables sponsors send me official items etc it still goes up on this channel , it was designed as more of an overflow but it’s kind of become it’s own thing now
