    Dear viewers who are members of Ultravox Unoriginal, sorry, Unofficial. Despite what the unhinged dictator of the group demands you are more than welcome to subscribe to this RUclips channel and join our fledgling Facebook group. As a previous moderator in that group I'm fully aware of his demands and bullying tactics. He's very upset that he lost one of his best assets when I left his group and the content of this channel is not being created in his name. Ultravox Unofficial is all about him being the glorious leader. The Astradyne Cafe is all about it's members and was conceived out of the interest in this RUclips channel.
    Of course the choice is yours. But the guy's a control freak and a complete tosser.

    An extraodinary performance, among the best of any band ever. Though this recording is really low quality. There is an official recording with high quality to be found here in YT.

    Saw them back in December 1982, at their very greatest days, a religious experience. The Quartet tour, supported by the Messengers!

    Reap The Wild Wind also great live arrangement, one of the best performed. Serenade blew me away. The track deserved its live coming out. Almost better live than studio version.

    I swear, that solo in I remember never ceases to be a religious experience.

      Somehow the interplay between the various instruments does transcend into a "higher state"... Midge is a supremely melodic guitarist, yes that solo has a touch of divinity. One Soul to another... :)

    Serenade is such an incredible track, criminal that it's taken this long to enter a setlist but what a way to do it justice! Going to see Midge next week and can't wait.

    This performance does manage to get very close to the authenticity of the original band... I really don't think you can ever replace ANY of the band members, each member was/ is unique. If you listen to earlier years of Electronica's Ultravox covers, this performance is by far the better... I'm grateful Midge has this level of commitment to bringing us what all true Ultravox fans crave, more of the music.. I've really enjoyed some of the differences in these tracks, I can never have enough of these songs. Positively welcome the variance when done so well :) Bravo Electronica x

    Excellent Andy and though not Ultravox do a great job of recreating some of their classics though sometimes not with the same sound but good none the less.

    • @TheAstradyne
      @TheAstradyne  Год назад +1

      Cheers Lenny. Some are more authentic/accurate than others. Rage In Eden, Your Name and Visions In Blue are pretty much spot on. I'm guessing Midge still has access to the midi files used on the Return To Eden/Brilliant tours hence the authentic sound. But the sound was great and the band played well. Midge messed up the lyrics on the last verse of All Stood Still, but after two and a half hours of playing he can be forgiven (there was half an hour of solo/Visage hits before the Ultravox stuff). I thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

      @lennyrussell8954 Год назад

      Great stuff Andy, Midge was always known for mixing verses up so that's no unusual. Yes a definite on the midi files the band must have stored them just in case they went out on the road again and Midge really did seem to enjoy himself and this is the future of any live Ultravox stuff as the band has aged and i don't think it will be possible for them to tour again.

    • @TheAstradyne
      @TheAstradyne  Год назад +1

      @Lenny Russell Midge is on record as saying "the door is always open". Billy is the fly in the ointment so to speak. Billy obviously loves Ultravox hence he launched the two 1990's projects to try and keep the name alive. So maybe he could be persuaded. As for fossils on the road just look at the Rolling Stones. By the look of them they all died a good few years back especially Keith lol.

      Yeah i suppose never say never but sadly i think that might be it for them.

      I really don't know. It was played throughout the "Quartet" tour but never since. A complete "Monument" show from the Hammersmith Odeon December 1982 will be available on July 7th as part of the "Quartet" 40th anniversary box set which will include WTSS.
