I did the Algeciras to Tanger route by train. I walked from the train station to the ferry port but later was told there was also a shuttle bus. That was a lifetime ago so things must have changed in all these years. Tarifa is a different city to Algeciras. If you are coming down from Madrid by train, then Algeciras is a good option but the ferries from Algeciras go to the new port of Tanger, Tanger-Med, which is another 40 km from the city and you need to research buses etc or you will be held hostage to grand taxis and their exorbitant pricing!

Yes you can cross. Bring a passport. But you will need a visa to get into Spain. That will be difficult. I suppose you can claim political asylum if you will not get a visa

Did you see dolphins during the trip? Along the route from Algeciras to Tangier there were plenty of dolphins on the way.
Do you need visa or passport to go there
Bapathe Barry you can Book a group and you can stay for 1 day without having a visa
And what if you're going for longer, I have heard that you get entry or visa in the ferry ?
