As the president of my house, I officially declare that Polytopia has the best music, characters, arts and in general the game is very cool. Thanks to the Midjiwam team! As a sign of this I will buy all the tribes

Naval combat in Polytopia definitely needed a rework. It was pretty boring before, being just a game of who can spam more battleships, and giant battleships were OP imo. It's nice to see the game having multiple different naval units that aren't direct upgrades from each other, like Hexonia. I haven't had the chance to check it out yet, but it looks like naval combat will be more fun now. I'm a bit sceptical about the balance changes though. As a Bardur main myself, I can say that the tribe was definitely OP, but I'm not sure if increasing lumber hut cost is the way to go. This will affect every tribe, not just Bardur, and will also have a significant effect on Hoodrick (the other tribe with lots of forests in their territory), who do not need to be nerfed. A better solution would be to simply reduce the forest spawn rate in Bardur land. That being said, I'm yet to find out how much of a difference the lumber hut changes make - I'm hoping Bardur is now equal in strength with other tribes rather than being completely nerfed to the ground. As for the increase in road price, that is just dumb imo. Connecting a city to your capital with a road now costs 6 stars AT BEST, and you only get 2 population from doing so (one for your capital and one for the city you are connecting). This is hardly even worth it. Less population per stars spent than building other improvements eg. mines, or gathering resources. If cities need more than 2 tiles of road to connect, even post-nerf lumber huts are a cheaper way to get population than roads. Also, RIP Yaddak... another tribe that did not need to be nerfed, but has probably been nerfed to the ground by this update. Rider roads were one of the most effective strategies for fighting against Cymanti, with their boosted Hexapods. How do we deal with them now that we can't rely on roads being only 1 star?
Yeah, that's nice. It will be one of the best updated ever. BUT. I'm still waiting for polish language. I saw few polish names in midjiwan team. Liczymy na was chłopcy (+ map size, please... massive is too small)
It's great though because you can still play maps with less water and that brings verity to the game. Elyrion got much better so it will probably replace bardur now on all medium and big maps
Elyrion? It got removed sadly. However, they're planning a special tribe rework soon, can't remember if it's before or after the ancients special tribe comes out
Honestly the update is cool, but what if there was more of a strategic gameplay (requesting the ally to move a unit somewhere or trading to strengthen relations..etc) would be hella cool.
I am currently writing a story for Polytopia including the lore of the game. If anyone is interested in helping me write this I would love to start a group project!
How about like a special game resource that allows you to unlock most other tribes for an above-average cost and is quite rare. For special tribes, it unlocks only a few of them
This is good cos when I play against my brother he always makes battle ships and descemates me from the oceans and blockades my coasts. This will open up options
This 'Paths of the ocean' had better been a separate game alongside Polytopia - seems to be even worse than the diplomacy update in destroying the games' unique simplicity that I have loved for years. :-(

Nice to see that the Giant Battleship meta has finally been put out to pasture.

I just noticed how bloody massive the starfish is. Look at that boi in the background
Starro lives!
Absolutely want midjiwan to make an rpg with polytopia tribes and aesthetic
This looks like a great update, and the beta was certainly fun! Wondering if there will be any new tribes soon?
yes The Ancient are some what "confirmed"
Well theres the ancients but i have a harsh feeling the ancients is just lore and nothing special

Finally a naval update!
Now if only me and mine could reliably and consistently send gameplay back and forth so we could actually finish a game that would be great!
I miss hearing the old theme in the menu. Why was it ever removed if it’s still being used in trailers?
At the moment, there's no new content in 4 players multiplayer worlds. But in 2 players worlds it's, sometimes

100% agree, poly has been and is continuing to be over-engineered. If the stupid cloaks didnt ruin this game already I think this will.
Also agree, I’m not a multiplayer guy, I just play this to kill some time, this update looks like it’s a new game basically
@@twiztedmind209 The creator already said its a complete rework of the naval system, which it is. Its not just "adding new ship types"

Simplicity for simplicity's sake isn't desirable. Battleship spam was simple but not good game design.
Ayo?
Okay, but taking away navalons was stupid and unnecessary.
There needs to be a classic version of Polytopia, pre cloak, pre way of the ocean.. I just can't enjoy the latest updates...
