    I don't think a lot of people realize how much rap knowledge he actually had. He was spitting insane freestyles at 15/16 years old so as he got older free styling just seemed effortless. yea some of this looks prewritten, but some parts he just going off the top and those are the best lines he spits.

      I swear that shxt was utterly masterful. Most dope doesn’t even begin to describe the electricity you see in Macs eyes when he saved the verses. Mac was a scribe. Pen in-hand or not, he always kept it smooth, yet somehow also hot. Unique talent. Mac Rests In Peace, tragically, but his music remains salient. Gone too soon, far too soon

      The concept of freestyling is not to make it up in its entirety word for word. The skill of writing or rapping requires a constant focus on vocabulary building skills and literary techniques to come up with ever increasing ways to reproduce things in a new or personalized manner. As a rapper in particular you develop syllabic ideas that resonate phonetically and over time or as you continue to do it there becomes a large database of syllables that ebb and flow well with each other and become part of your repertoire, sometimes flipping your own previously written or verbalized ideas. In order to freestyle, that is jump on the beat (without specifically having previously played with and mapped out all of the words you'll use and in what way, or songwriting as it's known) and flow them you absolutely have to possess the skills already meaning that you know how to play around with many different types of associations that occur to you then on the spot but only because you've played around with it or similar things before. To have favorite rhyme pairings or self referential statements that are peppered in or even perhaps lines that are a signature of sorts stylistically is a large part of freestyling. It is more difficult than taking time to edit and iron things out but it is impossible to be a rapper and grab a mike completely devoid of any kind of previously thought of bars otherwise how can you really consider yourself a rapper. Freestyling is taking the ability and skills you have developed and being able to present it free form and even to add circumstantial information that is also happening as you rap. Yes a lot of interviews presented as freestyles are anything but and not many rappers even attempt to do it without 80 percent preconceived and should just admit it because that still takes skill but mac happens to be so skilled and in love with the music he can truly free himself in the moment and flow however you seem to, like many fans of the genre less so with other rappers, have a misunderstanding of what it means to freestyle. That's all

    • @paradoxlust
      @paradoxlust 4 года назад +4

      @@hamdee8111 if that rap is presented in an unstructured and fresh manner it actually is what freestyling is by definition.

    What Mac did on Westwood is the craziest thing I've ever seen
    One of the greatest rappers of all time, his songs are amazing but his fire hunger and life, man put his soul in his freestyles, so much skill, every video is fire.

    • @Genesis992
      @Genesis992 5 лет назад

      Bubbha Jay dude was criminally underrated his entire career. I was following him for so long, it made me super excited to see him starting to get that wider recognition he was catching before he left us. He was on the brink of absolute superstardom.
      Definitely one of the most disappointing things about him leaving is the fact that we’ll never see where he would’ve ended up. He was improving constantly and so quickly, he would’ve definitely gone down as an even greater legend than he was.

      @@Genesis992 I wish I could say the same bro only knew 3 mac songs when he was with us, friends, fight the feeling and best day ever, selfishly thought I had forever to get into mac properly, if the passing of mac thought me one thing its don't take life for granted and live in the moment,
      His songs are straight fire but his freestyles are on another Level, hurts to listen to him still but its happy pain
      Larry been fishing since he in the womb, 🙏❤ My g, bless up fam one love

    I first found out about mac when he put out nikes on my feet and everyone in high school all the way in san diego california was like, " you guys heard of mac?". donald trump came out and everyone was like, " you heard of mac miller?". Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family came out and everyone asked, "you heard of Mac Miller?". Mac died and everyone was like, "Mac Miller was the best". the story is not that people hate on someone until they die. rather we all find out about someone at some point. Dont hate on those who just found out. Mac had a gift for us all, his music.
