I’m a guy in my late 40’s and I’m a Billie superfan. I’ve seen her live twice. Once in 2022. Once in 2023. I’ll be seeing her a 3rd time next month on the tour for this new album. Can’t wait to hear her sing these new songs live.
If you want another performance by Billie and Finneas that will give you a punch to the gut and knock the wind out of you? Pleaaaase react to the live performance of “i love you” live from the Greek theatre. Billie has a hard time keeping her emotions in check for that one. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve cried listening to this song. It’s very vulnerable and relatable.

  • @bill3483
    @bill3483 3 месяца назад +6

Billie's voice has matured from her start at thirteen. She has a fuller vocal range now, that said she has always had a unique voice. Her small live performances are more captivating then the studio recordings. Great example is The 30th (Live From Singapore’s Cloud Forest)

  • @poppy6989
    @poppy6989 3 месяца назад +28

"I Love You" live at the Greek Theatre for feels. Her cover of "Bad" is also great. For art video, pretty much all of them, but I'll say "Xanny", "Bad Guy" and "When the Party's Over" are a good start.🎉

I’m a bit of a music snob and don’t usually really like pop music (I’m not proud of being a snob but I’ve accepted it) so it makes me really happy to see Billie get her due. It’s crazy how she can be so popular (despite being so experimental), so critically acclaimed, and yet still so underrated.

    • @nuage9538
      @nuage9538 27 дней назад +1

Yes ! As a classical musician, I tend to not like pop very much because of the laziness. I’m amazed at how Billie Eilish managed to get so much mainstream success with complex, experimental and overall clever pop. I’m really a fan of her music, the quality in writing and vocal subtlety is unquestionable.

  • @siriuslymeva

one thing to keep in mind is her age - some of these songs recommended in the comments were recorded when she was 13-16 years old, where her voice was much higher and her songs had a lighter sound to them. not at all a bad thing but her voice has obviously matured at 22, and has a deeper quality to it (as you’ve seen in this performance). so checking the date of the performances/videos you may watch in the future could help to illustrate to you her vocal and technical progression over time.
though I must say, you’ve started with a fantastic performance so the bar is set quite high!

I'm so excited for you to look at her catalog!!! I think when it comes to Billie, expect the unexpected. Please just give it all a shot because she is like no one else with her artistry. She puts so much into everything that has to do with not only the lyrics but with the artistic direction. She has been directing her music videos since the beginning of her career at 14/15 years old. She can't be put into one sole category, and honestly, I don't think of her as a pop artist. She is her own genre, and that is what makes her very special.

Billie and Fineas are both geniuses. It is always awe inspiring as another artist to see two people cooperate so flawlessly. Their art is nothing short of a masterpiece every time, but I find their lyrical imagery amazing on the song 'All the good girls go to hell", and really REALLY love the visuals that come with it.

You’re in for such a treat. Don’t worry about “poppy” even her youngest poppiest songs are sonically and visually interesting.
What I truly recommend is looking at her releases chronologically and seeing if a video exists. There’s never going to be a video/song that won’t impress you.
You’ll have favorites but never be bored.
But her first song she was 13, she’s now 20. She goes through a lot and release order matters. You’ll get to know her through her music. You’ll be so proud of her by the end.

Enjoyed ur reaction, big BiFI fan here. Billie was considered alternative but now she is the top artist on Spotify so is she pop? You mention 'grittier and better', I think all her songs have depth and creative writing. Her latest album (with this song) was created as a full listen, with no pre-release singles. I'd suggest "What Was I Made For', it won an Oscar and Grammy. (she and her brother Finneas have 19 Grammys and 4 Oscars). Some of her biggest hits were not on albums,. 'Everything I Wanted', No Time to Die, Lovely, What Was I Made For, When I was Older (fav of mine). Do more!!

im scratching my head to look for a pop-py song of billie... coz to me most of all are feels stuff, and im also an older fan in my 40s... so all Billie songs are unique to me ;) maybe Lunch is more pop-py? anyways, yes, she has such depth and an old soul. from the first breakout song, Ocean Eyes with it's old school blanket and hand movement music video (which was her 14th birthday present), to the latest MV of Birds of a Feather. :) you can also see the behind the scenes of some of her MVs like NDA, Everything I wanted, What I was Made For, Chihiro, When the Party's Over, etc...

I'm new to your channel, but have you ever reacted to Yebba? She's "your favorite singer's favorite singer." But if you like this, you will love Yebba. Start with "My Mind" then the NPR Tiny Desk concert. Her background singers are phenomenal. And Yebba is unmatched.

i suggest you react to her newer music if you like her vocals in this video, since I feel like her newer music definitely showcase her voice the most (what was I made for, skinny, the 30th and the greatest are all good ones :)

Of artistic videos from her there is a lot. I can recommend "Hostage", "Bury a Friend", "NDA", "When the Party's over", "Chihiro", "Happier than Ever", and even though "Bad Guy" is a Pop Song, the video is quite interesting.

    Her most artistic videos:
    - When the Party’s Over
    - You should see me in a crown (vertical video)
    - Ocean Eyes
    - idontwannabeyouanymore
    - Hostage
    - Lovely
    - Bury a Friend
    - All the good girls go to hell (make sure to watch this one AFTER bury a friend)
    - Xanny
    - Your Power
    - What was I Made for
    - Everything I Wanted
    - Not my responsibility
    - NDA
    - Male Fantasy
    - Happier Than Ever
    - My Future
    - Chihiro
    - Birds of a Feather
I also think you’ll enjoy these songs that only have lyric videos:
    - TV
    - The 30th
    - ilomilo
    - skinny
    - getting older
    - Billie Bossa nova
    - the greatest
There are also some very specific legendary live videos that are a must watch:
    - copycat (mahogany sessions)
    - end of the world (bbc radio 1)
    - you don’t get me high anymore (bbc radio 1)
    - bad (like a version)
    - bitches broken hearts (Vevo live)
    - no time to die (Brit awards)
    - I love you (Greek theatre)
    - L’amour de ma vie (live Amazon)
    - come out and play (Apple Music awards)
    - when the party’s over (Howard Stern)
    - All the good girls go to hell (Howard stern)
The somewhat more pop songs I can think of, but whose videos are creative and kinda interesting and to be honest the production is so quirky that it basically makes up for the fact that it can be mistaken for a pop song, I’d still recommend them but maybe at a later point once you e watched her more artistic videos and are still craving more Billie which will inevitably happen:
    - bad guy
    - lunch
    - watch
    - therefore I am
    - lost cause

P.s. I didn’t copy paste this I literally always write out my comments specific to the video I’m watching and off the top of my head. And I specifically chose videos I think you’ll enjoy in particular. I didn’t list everything 😊

Now that is a longer comment I can get behind. You seemed to really take time to make it a response to what I said in the video and didn't just list a bunch of stuff that wasn't relevant. Good on you. I appreciate that and I will save this to a file as a reference. Well done.

P.s. it’s a good thing that you said you’d rather not have long comments because that’s very much my default, as Billie is a special interest of mine and I do tend to go on and on so I felt totally called out haha but not in a bad way. I understand, though, some people just copy paste facts. I just take these reaction videos as an excuse to write out my thoughts. No copy pasting happening here! Also I do that because I know that comments are good for the video’s algorithm so I don’t feel too bad. 😅

Thank you so much. I appreciate you taking the time and practicing brevity. I am always more likely to reply to a thoughtful, heartfelt comment personally than just give a "Thanks for the info" reply. It takes so much time to go through comments some days when you'd rather be creating something new. It's all part of the give and take of reaction videos. Thanks again.
