Ah, those! The markings you're seeing on the T-slot bed are from previous testing, not from this project. But you're right, in that case, our Z-height was off--it happens :)
Is the RC motor really enough? I have seen people use makitas for spindle and they are way more powerful. I use the same size rc motor in my airplanes.
The tool has cut the base also
So either there is an error in z settings or backlash in z axis

Yes it’s quite noisy as you are carving things with the bit spinning at a vary high rpm
