I got to see her and her group live in a small venue just a few days ago. She did this song as an audience sing along. She taught us the chorus and the attendees did their best with it. I'm sure we wrecked the Gaelic, but it was great fun!
This song is very old if you listen carefully to the lyrics it's not the person but the bird that she sings of the songs origin is the song sand by the thrush the original lyrics are taken from the melody that the thrush sings at the harvest time of the year this only my I temptation of the song and lyrics and it is sang beautifully by julie-stephen
If being at the center of an orchestra is what it takes to claim the title of Queen of gaelic singer, I would prefer Julie being the singing spirit as we knew her in the first place.

Brings the hearts of my ancestors to my own. Tapadh leibh Julie agus BBC.
What a World to have such creatures in it ! Julie truly stirs something deep within !
Breathtaking. Absolutely beautiful. Would love to hear more arrangements like this.
There are many ...by Julie on her many brilliant albums ...and by other Scottish, Irish, Cornish, Welsh and Britton musicians.
Immediately sobbing
OH. EM. GEE! Bloody brilliant. Thanks Matt for sharing. Jules is ace as always. x
Only half way through this song and I have goosebumps x

Given that 3/4 of the chorus is nonsense syllables you might have been okay!

@@NiennaFan1 It means something for the Pixies, though !
@@NoName-qr5jg good point! (Sorry pixies)
Cho cho beagha gu dearbh. Such a voice.
the autotranslate misread breagha (beautiful) as beaga (plural for small) 😂 I scratched my head for a second
@@user-tk4gr9zo7t Sorry I mis-spelt! Duilich.

Singin a theme song for a Disney movie isn't the worst either. 'scuse me while I Touch the Sky (sorry 😐)
whenever I want someone to post lyrics in a comments section there are never any to be found

Smeòrach mis' air ùrlar Phaibil

Gun deòrachd a thèid na 's fhaide
Truimid mo bhròn, thòirleum m' aigne
Smeòrach mis' air mullach beinne

Thig mi stòlda chòir na coille -
Bidh mi beò air treòdas eile
Ma mholas gach eun a thìr fèin
Cuim thar èis nach moladh mise

So beautiful! A time when Britain was its ‘own country’ sadly no more!
Tha e cho math a bhith faicinn nach eil a’ Ghàidhlig air bàsachadh
Yes Julie
