More working people should be standing up to these companies, not taking out their frustration on other working class people that happen to be earning more than them. At least a high wage for train drivers means they are paying more tax and spending more money within our economy etc rather than that money going into the pockets of the directors and shareholders etc of the company in Germany (CrossCountry Trains, Chiltern Railways), Italy (Avanti) or Netherlands (West Midlands and London North Western Railways). That’s why trains in Europe are so much more modern, cheap and efficient than ours, because profits made from customers of our train companies are paying for them!

I used to be a cleaner/night porter in a travel lodge on £5.10/hour, then I started working on the trains serving drinks etc and worked my way up to driver, as a lot of other drivers have done. It took three interview attempts and 11 years of working in other railway jobs to get there but it was worth it. It can be extremely stressful at times and I know several people who’s long term mental health has been affected due to incidents etc. , it’s also a 24 hour/365 days a year job and the shift pattern changes every week, so it’s not very family/social life friendly but I’d recommend anyone give it a go.

Yes and that is what annoys Carol, Farage, Tice, Reform and GBN free speech comes with accountability and none of the above want that as they want to spout their factless narratives of division, hate and anger.
      Never seek to unite.

Train drivers are getting a raise that will reflect what they would have been on, pesently, if wages hadn't stagnated under tories.
I mean, my employer, has publised its 7th year in a row record profits, but cant replace my broken kit or give me a raise.
