So I can totally understand your reaction and feel bad. Hopefully you will get a chance to try it the right way sometime. I grew up on Kool aid. Now a days there are many more water flavor additives available that you can just squirt a bit into your water for flavor and sometimes added vitamins or caffeine.

Ok, when making box mac and cheese in America, you need to add stuff to it to make it better. I actually prefer box mac and cheese to baked mac and cheese. But it needs to be made well.
Boil your pasta until it's al dente. Strain pasta, but keep about a cup amount of pasta water in with the pasta. Set pot back on stove, turn to medium/medium high heat. The next steps need to be done quickly. Add in 2 tablespoons of butter, stir into the pasta coating it. Next, add in the cheese packet that comes with the box, stir until incorporated. Now add a strong flavored shredded cheese. It can be sharp cheddar, smoked gouda, a strong swiss (just not blue cheese). Stir it again and wait until cheese starts to melt a little bit. Now add some milk very slowly and stir in between adding more. The milk will bring down the temperature and make it thicken. You want it to be a gooey creamy thick texture. You shouldn't need to add too much milk. Now add some black pepper to taste. The black pepper cuts through the richness of the dairy. But don't add too much, just a little bit will be good. Salt to taste.
It should come out perfectly. Everyone makes their mac and cheese differently, but the ending result should be the same. Ooey gooey creamy cheesy. The flavor should be buttery, salted, with a hint of strong umami from the shredded cheese. Some people will say this is wrong or different, but as long as you get a good result, then who cares?
I hope this helps. Have fun and don't stress over it too much. It's always lovely watching both of you and your kitties. I have three kitties myself. Much love from southern Indiana.

Slap Ya Mama is a good Cajun spice, so it goes great on beans & rice, meats, and even some pasta dishes, like chicken or seafood Alfredo.

Bourbon Vanilla Ice Cream is very good so if Dove did it right the pudding should be also but it will taste better very cold.

Carol, you were trying to think of the word "smores" when you were describing the Moon Pie. :). I love the old classic Moon Pies BECAUSE they are not overloaded with "fake" flavors from a lab! HA! They are an old-school snack from eons ago... as are those Twinkies too!

I like a honey bun with a pat of butter and warmed until some of the sugar melts off. With some coffee to cut the sweet. Perfect😊

She may have been thinking of S’mores when you were trying the Moon Pie. S’mores are MUCH better! With S’mores you have a graham cracker with chocolate on top. You use a stick to roast a marshmallow over an open campfire. 🏕️🔥The roasted marshmallow is then carefully placed over the chocolate to melt it and another graham cracker is placed on top. Comparatively, a Moon Pie is a 1 or 2 and a S’more is a 9 or 10.

Absolutely love the sweatshirts! My mom was raised in Merced which is about 90 miles south of Yosemite. My mom and grandparents would go there often. At that time, in the 1940s, they would have to put chains on the tires for traction because they didn't have snow tires at that time. Merced is called The Gateway to Yosemite because that was the only route from the south. I think it's still that way now.
