My grandfather was army airborne. And I agree AA on the patch mean athletic alcoholic. Later in his life my grandmother told him either quit drinking or give up driving. He spent his remainder of his life walking to the pub.
I was 101st Airborne from 2002-2010. When we invaded Iraq in 2003, we did it with mow hawks. To this day, my fellow okie is honored in the US Army. Also, fat electrician reviews infantry scouts. That was my job.
Oh gosh I wish I had pictures! ❤️😂😂😂 my dad a 26 year Navy veteran and my ex-husband was in the US Marine Corps active duty for 10 years so stuff like this is hilarious and Jake’s last name is either Scottish or Irish so nothing he does really surprises me.. and the fact that he’s probably Irish Scott American. It just makes it even funnier.
Amen yes he is. My uncle was in the 101st during Desert Storm and then in the 82nd when you were in the 101st and set to retire, however after 911 he left thr 82nd and went to Ft. Hood to train troops in 2 week intervals. When the troops left him they left on a plane to go to conflict. Operation Enduring Freedom.
My great grandfather was taking pow in the battle of the bulge. He had 2 purple hearts and a bronze star. He lived till 96 years old working on trucks and chopping his own firewood till 94. Amazing man.
I also had no idea about Jake's role in resupplying Bastogne! I always did wonder how in the world they had enough supplies and ammunition to hold it for so long. Now I know. What a hero!
I'm from Tonkawa Oklahoma which is about 15 miles west of Ponca City Mr Mcniece came to my school and told us some stories from his time in the war this was in 1984
I'm glad you're into his stories, because he does such a good job of researching them. On the 'UNSUBSCRIBED" channel here on Y.T, I heard Nick (the Fat Electrician) state his desire to got to college and become a history teacher, and all I can say about that is, I REALLY ENVY HIS FUTURE STUDENTS. I've had teachers who had his kind of passion, and it makes an unbelievable difference in the learning experience.
@@delord1619 he's the type of teacher people would travel to a school specifically to take his class even if they weren't otherwise going to go there, like if he does like a community college that would be the best cause he could provide his knowledge to more people who aren't trying to do a full college degree but want to take his class. That was my favorite part of community college, since I wasn't going for a specific degree I just took classes that interested me like a magic witchcraft and religion in the Americas class which was amazing and a roots of hell class looking at various depictions of hell throughout history which was super neat
I recall seeing the footage of the paratroopers with the Mohawk haircuts, and painting their faces in WWII documentaries, but didn't havee the contect. Thanks Recky.
He's a legend in Oklahoma 😊. As a lifelong Okie and with PLENTY of family in the military, and a huge family, we do build them a bit different here. I'm surrounded by crazy. Whether it be military crazy, rough neck (oil ) crazy, hunter/redneck crazy... you get the picture lol!
Greetings, good sir. I first stumbled upon you during the phenomenon that was Oliver Anthony. I have enjoyed the ride so far. Thanks for the great vids. You rock!
American filmmakers did make the dirty dozen film from the filthy 13. True story.. when you mentioned the dirty dozen it does have something to do with this story, but they just couldn’t use the actual name of this unit because the movie was basically the same plot and people, but just different people and similar stuff.
What a great video.I’ve served in the military, read loads of books about WWII but never heard of this guy’s heroics. Thanks Recky, I also learned something today.
Murica at it's best. Jake was once asked why he didn't show up for the retreat. He said he didn't speak French and retreating is impossible for an American because we're not cowards. This was at a medal ceremony in France😂😂😂😂
Love these Recky! FYI "high-ground" Star Wars reference. In Episode 3, at the end of the movie, Obi Wan has the high ground on Anikan Skywalker (Darth Vader) across a river of lava, and proceeds to cut his legs off when Vader attacks. That was that clip 😂😂
The Fat Electrician rocks. Found him through the NZed channel. Brain farting on the actual name. But liked what I saw. Found the channel, watched a few more and subscribed. Haven’t been disappointed on even one episode. It’s very entertaining. He for sure knows how to tell a story.
First time hearing the story but, not the first time I’ve seen footage of the Mohawks and face painting, which I remember seeing when I was a kid. Badass dude and badass story! Kept me interested the entire time. Thanks for doing this one!
The post office ending is a real shame. I figured he'd become a pimp, go get Amelia , bring her back and put her to work for daddys war crimes. Or something.
You should definitely America’s warhorse Marine reaction by TFE ots epic and hilarious. Sadly only is the briefest cover of SSGT Reckless and the Korean War
2:41 excuse me? Out of all the justice league members, superman turns evil the most, is mind controlled the most, and turns into a dictator the most. He also has no issues killing people whenever he feels like it.
@@DemonSliime Yeah, Supes is the prime example that no matter how pure you are, power will ultimately corrupt over time. Look at the animated justice league series where he becomes the leader of the "Justice lords" after they lost their Wally. Clark doesn't age like humans do, so he could be 80 and still have more power than anything we could throw at him. Batman is Supes' balance, just as supes is Batman's balance. The mutual respect they hold for one another keeps them humble and good.
In the first episode or 2 of Band of Brothers, they depicted the Filthy 13 painting their faces and saving their mohawks, also, The Dirty Dozen may not live up to the real thing, it's still a decent movie.
if you like "Band of Brothers" you should watch "The Pacific" which is a mini series by the same same guy who did Band of Brothers, which obviously is set in the Pacific theater.. very good also..

I’m an okie also, thank you for your service!
Hubby was 426 FSB. Y'all emded up invading on his 22md bday. He still smiles remembering the MRE brownie "cake" his buddies made for him.

“…hanging on every word” is the best description of the type of storytelling TFE is! AND YOU LEARN WHIOE BEING ENTERTAINED!!! ❤❤❤

Jake McNasty, not a hero you want, but a hero you need. Shouls he placed in a glass box with a sign that says break in case of war.
You love the Fat Electrician's delivery because he's honest and irreverent.
I also had no idea about Jake's role in resupplying Bastogne! I always did wonder how in the world they had enough supplies and ammunition to hold it for so long. Now I know. What a hero!
Out of everything he did the most terrifying thing is the fact that he smeared 1940s industrial paint on his face.
*military grade* 1940s industrial paint at that. It probably had extra lead for radiation shielding or something 😂😂😂
That was amazing! The Fat Electrician sure knows how to tell a story. Jake was a true hero. I'm watching this again. Thanks Recky.
I agree Don! I’m hooked from the first second!!
The fire alarm chirping right after he said putting batteries in on time was hilarious
As an American this legend of a madlad is one of my greatest personal heroes.
God bless America 🇺🇸 and God bless Sweden 🇸🇪

You need to watch the fat electrician “Clausius Clay” episode. He is another amazing, unbelievable , larger than life character.
That was a juicy piece of history and very well told. Thank you for the reaction.

I learned something from every TFE video I watched. Best story teller ever.
Fat Electrician: "Davy Crockett", "MOAB", "The Great SeaBee Train Robbery", "The Flying Ginsu - A Missile Full Of Swords"
I recall seeing the footage of the paratroopers with the Mohawk haircuts, and painting their faces in WWII documentaries, but didn't havee the contect. Thanks Recky.
My pleasure ! Amazing video.
Jake McNasty is the true textbook definition of “built different”

If Fat Electrician was a history teacher a whole lot more kids would like history class.
All of the Fat Electricians content is both educational and enjoyable.
Greetings, good sir. I first stumbled upon you during the phenomenon that was Oliver Anthony. I have enjoyed the ride so far. Thanks for the great vids. You rock!
Thank you! Happy to hear that you enjoy my content.
I am an 80 something year old woman and love to watch ww2 movies and docs

This guys ability to pull you into the story is fantastic. Thanks Recky.🎉
What a great video.I’ve served in the military, read loads of books about WWII but never heard of this guy’s heroics. Thanks Recky, I also learned something today.
You gotta do the "Cassius Clay--The Most Gangster Politician of All Time" one. That's my favorite one he's done.

Hahaha I love these videos to! Truly a fun ride every time.
Check his story on Dan Daly, recipient of two Medals of Honor (should have been three ).
I am really enjoying this information.
Sergeant Reckless is another good story America's war horse

Yeah… love his story telling. Makes me want to watch The Dirty Dozen again. 😂 And yes, watch his story about Sergeant Reckless.
Yes, Sgt Reckless was a hero!
@@charlesbryson7443 I lived on base at Camp Pendleton in the late ‘70’s and never knew she was buried there! 🤷🏻♀️
Need to check out Fat Electrician talk about The Last War Chief
The bit about the pathfinders at Bstogne was new to me.
There are so many stories of the soldiers that I don't think anyone could hear them all
Imagine being a Pathfinder for the Normandy paratroopers
Ponca, 20 miles from my hometown, god bless Oklahoma!
No blisters ? Is it a " super human feat " or " super human feet "
Absolutely loved it. Try "Winter Soldier OD's on meth, becomes unkillable".

Im from Oklahoma, not far from where he was. He's a legend here! ❤
Loved your reaction!
Love the content, especially the fat electrician and military stuff
The Fat Electrician is so good! I can't wait to see more of these
Recky, will you show this video also with Miss Carol as you showed “Operation Praying Mantis” with her? I really hope that you do!!
2:21 the dirty dozen YAASSSSS U know now he mentions it u know
my like was 101. Like Jake I was with the 101st but I did my time 25 yr later (1970) so kind of nice that my like was 101st

I can't believe you didn't hear about that.. 😊😊😊😊

Yes mcnasty
Hey Recky- have you heard “American Flags” by Tom McDonald and Adam Calhoune? You will LOVE it- our new anthem 🇺🇸🇺🇸

The one he did on Dan Daly is the marine version.
Great reaction!
