this quiet long stretch with almost no cars or very few cars reminds me of our weekly trips through a toll highway from our small town to our province capital city back in the 80's and early 90's when I was a kid in my country in east java Indonesia also with pretty similar view vast agriculture land with here and there small settlements with their small road, ladies with cone hat planting paddy, water buffaloes plowing the land , many people then still preferred the old roads through interconnecting small towns since they're free and with many eating places along the way, we also did that on the way back or whenever we're not in a hurry, now we have a new toll road with its hugely more expensive entrance fee and still packed with cars and container trucks and the view would be factories with their chimneys and silos, packed settlements, and still some agriculture land but I don't see the water buffaloes anymore probably they use hand tractors now. its amazing how a scene from 2019 could bring back those childhood memory of a fellow 3rd world country dweller from 3 decades back.

South Korea and North Korea are different countries. North Korea has also removed communism from the Constitution, and is a de facto monarchy that defines the Juche idea that emphasizes loyalty to Kim Jong-un as the official ideology of the state. For this reason, the party's only ten principles of establishing a system of leadership, which forces blind loyalty to Kim Jong-un, are the highest norms that suppress the lives of North Koreans. In the end, even this teenage principle can be revised as much as possible with Kim Jong-un's words, so it can be concluded that Kim Jong-un's words are the best norm in North Korea. In fact, the revision in August 2019 stipulated that Kim Jong-un's order takes precedence over the laws set by the Supreme People's Assembly. In terms of South Korea, the presidential decree takes precedence over the Constitution, but it cannot be democratic. In contrast, South Korea is close to France

North Koreas luxury apartments and homes are like Chicagos project housing and neighborhoods, just without the litter and gangs. Like honestly these places look a lot like the government housing (Without the bright colors. And they would be a little bit bigger) that you get in some cities in the US. At least some of the housing that I saw was like that. I am sure not all of NK is like that but a lot of it really is and reminds me of the projects in the inner city’s.

They kind of look like the government project's housing in US,minus gangs, litter, the atmosphere it's totally different..Not too mention problem of homelessness in US..Plus,in US not everyone gets those project apartments. In US so called luxury's housing are usually fake dry wall, model houses, cheap and easy to make.. Expensive to sell and maintained..In some parts of US,they can be a good source of income though, due the real estas prices fluction, but only in major hub's like California,New York, Chicago. In the Socialist countries, usually housing it's in eather government's or public ownership,so no profite could be made out of it.On another hand. People have decent housing instead free of charge or charged just and fraction of average income ,there are no problem of homelessness..Only thing it's that socialism it's hard that can work in reality, due two factors, external pressure from Rich capitalist countries and second,it's the corrupt human nature itself, Selfishness..That's why ,it doesn't always work the way it's intended. But it's a most noble, rational and humanitarian idea, without doubt.Even US has some socialist elements that makes life easier,Social security, some housing projects,Big Banks and industries Bailouts..lol .

    for
@Native182 and more thank you very much because you are on my side. I, as a Romanian, lived in communism as a teenager and I know what this means. I am very surprised by the comments of some who appreciate this North Korean life. and many are from civilized countries. a Russian told me said that if life is bad in this country, these citizens would leave the territory. I was shocked to find out that this Russian did not know that this is forbidden to North Koreans. They are only allowed to travel in China and only with great efforts and verification of willing people to go to Russia. for example. a North Korean if he wants to leave the city to another locality to visit his parents, for this he needs approval even if the distance is only 10km. I wish you all the best

It's a guided tour guys, not the real face of North Korea, so don't get so excited. For those who say there are few cars and no garbage: I lived in Romania in the 80s - There were about 30 times fewer cars, if not even fewer. And we barely had anything to eat. There was money, but you couldn't buy food with it because there was no food in the stores. And the garbage? Everything is used, guys. Everything. And plastic bottles or other products packaged in plastic don't enter an isolated country. S0po you will have to stand in very long lines, sometimes for whole days, bartering with family members, to buy meat, yogurt or milk (bottled in glass bottles, which is not bad, but it is very little).
How about the huge visual and audio propaganda they have everywere? About the fact that these people have access to a single television station that broadcasts a few hours with the president and the party per day, almost nothing else. Internet 0, televisions or radio from outside the country 0 goes without saying, and if you are caught with a smuggled film you risk the death penalty - so think twice how you vote next time, vote for democracy.
Live like a local for 3 days in the real North Korea and you'll wish for the dirtiest neighborhood in New York or a favela in Brazil. You'll yearn for lots of cars, graffiti on the walls and garbage on the ground.
