    This is one of the best vids on Power Vision yet. I have had a Power Vision on my Super Glide Custom for two years. The most important point is to keep saving off the tune to a new slot AND Autotune the newest tune when Autotuning the next time. After making mods to the intake and exhaust, the bike ran terribly. In the first Autotune session it ran even worse. But after saving the tune and continuing to build on that by Autotuning the newest file, saving it again and Autotuning from that file the next time, the bike is now absolutely awesome. Do this a dozen or more times until you get the results you're looking for. Transfer the unit to your PC and save all the files to keep a good record of what was done. Then you can delete them from the Power Vision to open up the storage slots without actually tossing them out permanently. Power Vision may cause you to think twice about trading your bike in or spending big time on expensive upgrades to the engine.

      7heRedBaron That seems strange that it would have to go through the AT sequence more than once to get to optimum performance, although I get what you are saying about it improving each time you over ride the newest tune, and I like that idea. Definitely going to try it as soon as new pipe and air cleaner arrive. It just seems that with this type of advanced tech it should figure it out the first time.. Only had it on the bike 1 day, but I already love this product.. Thanks for your helpful input..

      I don't understand all of the whys. There are other tuners by other designers that work in different ways. Some instantly. But this one creates a permanent map that is written into the bike's computer. If you sell the bike, the tune goes with it even if you want to keep the PowerVision. Or, if it gets damaged somehow over the years, the bike is still tuned in concrete. This is a feature I really like. GL

    Hi.
    Great video, absolutely great help. I own a PV for my 2012 FLTRXSE CVO.
    If you allow me to ask 2 questions, for my specific case:
    1) when you're doing an Autotune session and have to stop your bike for some reason (get more gas, police, heat, etc...), what do you do before turning the ignition off, but still want to continue with the AT process afterwards?
    2) i went from an 19'' front wheel to a 23'' one, so, what would be the advised Speedometer calibration value to have?
    Thank you so much and please keep on doing a great job.

    Thanks for the video. I have questions I hope you can answer: What is the result of Scaling vs. Capping? I have a 113 cu. in. engine with cams, heads, exhaust, larger fuel injectors. An AutoTune, even under very mild demands, always results in cell values exceeding 127.5. Thus far, I have been capping. What happens if I Scale the values?
    Resetting Trims: Are “trims” the values the ECM learns from riding the motorcycle? As I run subsequent AutoTunes, do I want to Keep trims or reset them?
    I am running AutoTune Basic with the stock narrowband O2 sensors.

    Do You suggest to do "SCALE " or " CAP " ...???

    • @DynojetResearch
      @DynojetResearch  2 года назад +1

      When using the AutoTune process, the general rule of thumb is to scale the first time you see the message asking if you want to cap or scale. After you have scaled one time, you will want to cap any further auto-tune sessions. Please email us at pvtech@dynojet.com if you have more questions. Thanks!

    I've heard that when in autotune it will only log around 10 minutes of data. I haven't done a lot of research on this and was curious how long an autotune session should / does last?
    I was also told that you should try and keep a steady rpm range while running one autotune session. (This stems from the guy claiming an autotune session can only hold around 10 minutes of data.) By this I mean you should focus on one riding style such as city for one session (lower speeds and rpm ranges), country (mid range speeds and rpm), and highway (higher rpms and speed).
    I am going out to try out the autotune feature in a few minutes and might answer my own questions but would like to know for sure.
    One last thing, why wouldn't the PV just come with the hardware to autotune it correctly using wideband sensors? I know the obvious answer is because buying it separately is more money for dynojet.

      tyee4u I bought my tuner from a guy out of ohio where I got my pipes from. He had Dynojet pre-load a tune on it for my pipes. The pre-loaded tune had my bike running well out of the box. Ive gone through 3 autotune sessions now and feel it did help tweak the original tune. One thing I am confused about is when I am autotuning I am getting very few values to turn red, most of them stay yellow and not sure if this is getting a good reading or not? I am still using the stock O2 sensors too.

    How long should you be riding on autotune? Is there a minimum?

    • @DynojetResearch
      @DynojetResearch  2 года назад +1

      This totally depends on how far off your current tune is. The Autotune will make changes instantaneously when the RPM and throttle are steady. If you are constantly varying RPM and/or throttle position it will take longer. We recommend making marks on the throttle tube at each throttle position that correlates to the PCV software (10,15,20,40,60,80,100). Then go out and at a low RPM snap the throttle to said position and hold it there until you reach peak RPM (if possible). Do this 4 times for each throttle position and you should be pretty close.

    Is it better to cap or scale?

    • @DynojetResearch
      @DynojetResearch  2 года назад +2

      Typically you will want to scale on the first Auto Tune session, but then we recommend capping on any further tuning unless you go into the tune and see where it is wanting or needing to add fuel.

    How do you decide between scale or cap when VE readings are above 127.5

    • @thomasmarchese2808
      @thomasmarchese2808 5 лет назад

      Wayne Rivett frontman what I understand. You can’t get over 100NA. If you’re boosted and go over 127.5 you would want to scale everything to that to average it out basically. Tuning to a specific boost pressure. But. For an NA motor. You’re better off letting it do it’s thing and capping. It at 127.5 because you won’t get there. Well I supposed you could with crazy cam(s) and head work. But again that’s my understanding. Don’t quote me.

    • @dynahack505
      @dynahack505 4 года назад +2

      Late response but it depends on how many cells are at 127.5 if it’s 1 cell you would want to cap because scaling with change the entire table versus a couple cells.
