  • As the SR71 Rapid Tool Express nears completion there are a couple of major things left on the plate before we can fire her up and get her down the road. First, every aircraft must have fins, and Stacey finally finds the fins he’s been looking for since the beginning of this build. Second, a cool logo design shows up at the shop. Third, what’s a stealthy tribute vehicle without stealthy paint? Believe it or not, Stacey’s got some paint that should keep the SR71 flying under the radar. Also, a slightly modified March Performance system will help Stacey get that much closer to putting some spark to this awesome build and stick around for plenty of other tech advice from America’s Gearhead… on GearZ.

I loved your shout out for the Bird's Nest. They also have expert advice. I was replacing the power steering unit on a 1964 T-bid for a friend. I unbolted it but discovered it would not come out. I tried and turned every way I could think of to get it out, both from the top and bottom with no success. Finally I called the Birds Nest and explained my problem. The technician knew the right question to ask, "when was it built"?. I checked the VIN and it was built in October of 1963.
He replied "oh you got one of the early ones. Ford used the 1963 gear until December of 1963 before the redesigned gear was installed from then on." That's why it hit either the block or fender well no matter how I turned it. He explained, the only way to get it out was to remove motor mounts, jack up the engine about four inches and it would come out. Sure enough he was right. Again thanks for the shout out.

Greetings from the Porters! 🤩 Love mixing the old with the older...love the fins. I’ve never seen this truck before. 🧐 Yes, everyone needs their own wrecker!!!!! 🥰 My 1951 REO is a wrecker...a tractor converted into a wrecker. Oh, you were right...most beds will have the frame rails that don’t line up. The funny thing is that whoever put the wrecker bed on the truck didn’t do the job right, and now the bed sits at an angle. 😳 I noticed that as a young boy. Cool truck! 🤩

I bought a mount and balance machine off Craigslist, shop was going out of business, paid a thousand dollars. I charge $20 for mount and balance, it's just about paid for itself, even got about 400 lbs of wheel weights in the deal. Used stuff is out there.

Stacey David, the instigator. I was trying to figure out how to add some extra design to the side of my project, and now, fins are an option.

@Official Stacey David I have tried the patch, avoiding triggers, going cold turkey, but nothing works. Now I have a 2016 Canyon that "NEEDS" a custom widebody kit, Baja Suspension, 4.3L V6, Tremic transmission, hybrid drive system (inspired by the McLaren P1) Lamborghini inspired bumpers and a fin down the side. If I can't fight it, I might as well jump in head first.

All of these shows should be giving away model cars & trucks as well the slot car tracks like the one pictured here. To me it represents the car hobby at its roots so to speak. Lol got to get em into it while they're young so the hobby can keep existing.

The logo is just not up to the coolness of the truck. It would have been better to see a more dynamic view of the SR71 instead of just a side view. Shoot, why not mimic the logo on the heads?

23min video with 18min of paid sponsorship, and almost zero building. So is it Sky Jacker or BDS suspension we should use cause honestly both are crap, furthermore the base Tundra BDS lift kit most certainly does not come with the 5” Fox coil overs, those are a $3k upgrade from the base crap kit that just uses spacers. I understand bills gotta be paid and sponsorship is necessary but damn but an entire episode dedicated to nothing but blowing the sponsors while most of us have been waiting years to see you finish projects. FINISH THE BUILDS PLEASE. Srg Rock and the rat roadster are dead and gone bud
