I always loved the movie Starscream design; an inverted triangle is a common shape for the male upper torso, but namely POWER. Having it sit on skinny chicken legs gives him a weak foundation and literally screams Starscream's personality. Really, it's one of the smartest designs from the film.
say what you like, but I love this design for starscream. and I also like the tattoos. it added character to the little amount he had in the first place. I won't defend the lack of character development though
I honestly love the michael bay aesthetic. I loved all the movies... ok tf4 was meh.. But they introduced me to the series, and I've been hooked ever since
I originally hated the Bayverse robot designs, as I think a lot of people did, and especially Starscream. But then something curious happened; I found the RotF Leader 'Scream clearance at a Walmart, and I picked it up because I was picking up everything at that point. And by the next day, after playing around with it a bit and transforming it back and forth, I fell in love with the design. I'm not sure how that happened, but I love Bayverse Starscream, and was legitimately sad to see him go in DotM.
Radish Sam Hey, as a Bionicle fan, I take offense to that. Bionicles look distinguishable with five different parts and a new paintjob. Bayformers usually have six arms and seven heads and you still can't tell them apart.
Oh, gee, how could I ever mistake that one mass of swirling silver-and-black metal with a pointy head filmed at an indistinct angle from that other mass of swirling silver-and-black metal with a pointy head filmed at an indistinct angle?
Yeash. I was not a fan of those designs either. They looked like garbage dumps coming to life. The upside, though, is that they did have some pretty cool looking silhouettes. That's a plus.
Bayformers helped boost the Transformers in general, and I think it has allowed the brand to have three toy lines run concurrently; unfortunately, when a "movie" is close, we get this kind of thing...and a movie toy line clogging up the shelves for months till they eventually get shoved on to the clearance isle...
XD 14:20 take that cheep HASBRO plastic. Look at the more superior plastic. I also wonder if three A are going to make a combiner with this much detail and weathering and etc and if so oh ya. I hope they do Age Of Extenction.
joltster109 Oh that.. that would be ffhuge...almost as tall as Mertroplex or taller then him. Yes I would want to see that and I would think the price would be $600 or even a thousand dollars.
While this thing does look fan-fricking-tastic, I'm not too big on the concept of these statue things. It's like, to me, why get a uber expensive G1 Optimus Prime that doesn't transform, when you can get MP-10 for, comparably, WAYYYYY less cash that can transform. Again, this thing looks great, but HFTD Screamer pulls off the effect just as well as this guy for, again comparably, way less money.
Exactly, yeah. There's no denying the incredibly work, effort and detail that goes into these figures, and I love their G1 redesigns; but it's difficult to imagine what the market is for these figures.
StarGazer The First It's for those who want the ultimate representation of the movie TFs on their shelf. Leader Starscream is bloody incredible, and always will be THE movie Screamer figure to get. However, this guy is on a completely different level, and I'm excited for mine to come :).
If you don't like how MP-10 looks, and if you dont think he's poseable enough, then you shell out for one that doesnt transform. I dont like how MP-10 looks, and theres no reason a toy that expensive cant have elbows and knees that bend more
Transforming toys can't be as accurate as figures that don't transform. The point of these toys is to be as accurate as possible while also being poseable as possible.
Well it makes more sense for the movie designs since they're almost impossible to translate perfectly into a transforming figure. G1 designs are blocky and very easy to do as transforming figures so I would never get a statue or non-transforming figure of a G1 design.
While this looks great, not a huge fan of it. I would never spend $400 on a huge expensive non Transforming collectible. I rather spend money on a *cheaper,* smaller, less detailed, less articulated, and transforming figure.
Look I like the bay look of starscream I can't lie I just wish they made him with the classic g1 colours you could say that with most of the movie formers but only in my dreams.
Manu Cascante That's not the point of these figures. The point here is to make super detailed and super articulated figures of the designs seen on screen.

Those perfect dorito proportions.... HNNNNNNG
that neck joint gave him more personality than the writers did
Mulambo OOOH SNAP
SHOTS FIRED
Mulambo Damn right LMAOOO
I honestly love the michael bay aesthetic. I loved all the movies... ok tf4 was meh..

All hail the the flying pizza slice!
LOL i died
or dorito.
LOL!!
I actually like starscreams design
I don't care what anyone says....I like the Live action Starscream design and basically ever character design from the first three movies

Fantastically executed and detailed figure. It's just unfortunate the source material is a pancake of Bionicle barf.
Radish Sam Hey, as a Bionicle fan, I take offense to that. Bionicles look distinguishable with five different parts and a new paintjob. Bayformers usually have six arms and seven heads and you still can't tell them apart.
+Jack Zigler Maybe your stupid goddamn ass can't tell them apart, but anyone with any sense can.
(Beware, a G1nner is whining.)

this is absolutely in my top 10 transformers designs
great review! Can't wait to get this. i really hope ThreeA will continue this line....need barricade!
after watching this review makes me want to get one , all those details are sick. great video
Huh, never realized till watching this review how similar movie Starscream's physique is to that of BB, Screamer's buddy from Beast Wars 2.
never thought of that actually
Rosencrantz&Guildenstern CANNOT UNSEE
Just pre ordered mine! Maybe it'll come before Xmas? Great review man!
this figure its pure perfection
I actually kind of like this Starscream design.
Awesome review! This has been my favorite review yet (source material aside) I can hardly wait for my Starscream to arrive.
I think he looks great!
Do these things make anyone else want Figuarts of these guys?
Are there any Margariny joints on this figure?
The horizontal ankle rotator sometimes makes me think a little becel
i saved so much for this starscream
Actully I think it’s called 3a not the word
No comparison with the 2010 Leader class toy?
How tight is the tension on the fingers? Can he reasonably hold small objects?
It's alright but I wouldn't over-use them for gripping
402.99?! AWESOM! then i just buy tons of clay, rotate the figure around in circles to look at the designs, and create clones of starscream, idk :)))
0:46
Its getting to almost ten years now
You got Botcon 2016 Tigertron!
did you buy your retail version on BBTS?
I like these figures. They should have had them in stores instead
great review id like to pick this up hopefully ill have some money soon
Does the barrel of the gatling gun on his right arm rotate?
I gave it a try early on but it didn't seem to spin at all
Does the mouth open? It looks like it does in s couple shots, but can't tell.
Can't wait to see what they do with G1stuff!
As far as I can tell, it doesn't open. :(
ZetZatar Nope, no talking i'm afraid.
Jarmo Verriet nooooo no flappy mouth XD
Yo why does the editor gotta roast this guy so bad?
Imagine this model but they added the transformation but just like on the movie
I never liked Starscream. He looks too much like a bodybuilder that kept forgetting "legs day." Still a nicely detailed figure, though.
Wonder why they didn't give it a mouth opening gimmick
XD 14:20 take that cheep HASBRO plastic. Look at the more superior plastic.
I also wonder if three A are going to make a combiner with this much detail and weathering and etc and if so oh ya.
I hope they do Age Of Extenction.
Oh god...... I would fear what Devastator would even COST... AND have him scaled correctly with these guys! DUDE. O_O
joltster109 Oh that.. that would be ffhuge...almost as tall as Mertroplex or taller then him.
Yes I would want to see that and I would think the price would be $600 or even a thousand dollars.
Omega Primal I'm thinking it would be $1000 MINIMUM. X.x
They only have the liscence for DOTM, so no Devastator and no Age of Extinction.
Jarmo Verriet yes I know that, but 3A is making an Evation Mode Optimus Prime.
it's so dense...
Hey, don't talk about Vangelus that way!
Bah dum tish.
dunkanbulk14 There's so much going on...
I just realised how much these divine words apply to the Bayformers.

I wish he was edible
Awesome review. I like you.
Watch and learn how :NECA!
Thank you for the coverage. It seems like you thoroughly despise the design lmao.
Naw tbh I have always looked forward to the transforming versions for having to pull off something so weird
While this looks great, not a huge fan of it. I would never spend $400 on a huge expensive non Transforming collectible. I rather spend money on a *cheaper,* smaller, less detailed, less articulated, and transforming figure.

"Bottom knee"? That's his ankle. What you called his "ankle" is the ball of his foot. Points for calling the legs "digitigrade," though.
you spent more money on this toy then i did on life..........im sad
Looking at this! I really preferred the design for Starscreem in Transformers Prime and Robots in Disguise. Is WAY better!
I never got the hype over ThreeA's work.It all looks like overpriced mess to me.
superkeaton It's super accurate,VERY high quality and very articulated.
superkeaton lol I say for the money your paying it's awesome
I'M EARLY!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!! MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That thing is horrible.

So tired of the huge snarky subtitles. They aren't funny.
Sylen then don't look down
ASTRAYGREENFRAME They are in huge white font on a mostly dark background.
They used to be funny when the reviews were unscripted, now they're very predictable.
not transform.not cool

Manu Cascante fucking stupid
