Bass Tone | Peter Steele | Type O Negative Видеоклипы
"Me and this guy are the same species."
You're a vampire?!?!
Good one XD
But... if that were true Peter would be here,
Now... today.
Only his sound vampire's on
and still, metaphorically, going for blood. . . 😮 🦹
🥷 on bass, voice, he was.
🆗😎🆒🎸🎼
@@paulpennington-mv7rt I think he uses a Vampire pedal as well.
Obviously! Hes British!
Maybe they're both horses...?
Its something i would definitely be telling my viewers and anyone else that had ears
The fact that he hot glued it in place is freaking hilarious
He also tuned to B on a 4 string. That impacted the tone as well. Nicely done, mate!
So B E A D?
@@backwardslashYes, they were configured in the B standard
Did he tune down or use a bead bass??????
@@PIKL_Creep I think he tuned down. Which Bass has a great video on his rig, ruclips.net/video/822NEtr4YHY/видео.html
Actually Type O was in the Drop D But good try.
The superglue idea made me laugh hard. So simple and easy if you once got your preferred setting just never ever touch it again! 😂
It’s hot glue! Which comes off much more easily
@@michaelpacinus242also, super glue is a brand name. It's actually called cyanoacrylate.
@@cameronvadnais4388 you can tell on the video it’s not any brand of CA. It’s hot glue. Read.
@@cameronvadnais4388you're the type of guy that calls Band-Aids adhesive bandages, aren't you.
Clearly never took any pedals out of your bedroom
(deep breath) BE MY DRUIDESS! BE MY EEEVERYTHIIIING!
I'll do anything.....

@@serenitygilles7064to make you
You nailed it! Long live Type O!!!!
The only thing missing is copious amounts of feedback
This is one of the most unique sounding basses I've ever listened to.
Peter Steele was a real living legend, man.
Sadly it is not anymore at our side...
R.I.P 1962-2010
sounds horrible.
he also mixed the heavily processed signal with a clean signal, which allowed it to still sound weighty and cut through the guitars
This is one of the gnarliest BEHS tones I’ve ever heard
Steele always had a cool, unique sound. It always felt like a machine that's running.
So thankful I had a chance to see them play live.
Me too.
One of the perks of being old. 😆
Absolute wall of sound they were
R.I.P. Peter Steele. That man was a real legend.
Day 2 of asking for Les Claypool’s Behs tone.
I second this
@@C_475 Ah, so we meet again. Fellow Primus fan. I know we’ll get this video one day.
I want this
Depends on the era, but it's mostly steel rounds with varying levels of tube preamp overdrive and a just enough compression to even things out. Boost your lowest frequencies, cut the low mids a little, boost the high mids a little and the treble just enough to make chords shine. Dude dabbles in all kinds of effects, but you can get the basic sounds from a number of amps and preamp pedals, more easily using one with bi-amped or blendable distortion.
@@alexcomixinc some day so we can all suck
Type o negative still has to be the most underrated band ever
BEEEEE MYYYY DRUIDESSSSS
BEEEE MYYYY EEEEVERYYYYTHIIIIII-HIIIIIING
BE MY EVERYTHINGGGGG
jesus christ his tone is fucking amazing
HAPPY 30 YEARS OF BLODDY KISSES 💚🖤
Goddamn, Superman plays bass! “Man of Steel” indeed!
Could u pleeease do Krist Novoselic, his bass sound is just so iconic and chilling I need to know how to recreate it.
I also want this one
Replying to boost this
that's easy. the lower the strap, the more tone
@@e_j_ ah! Now that makes alotta sense! Thank you 🙏
I'd really love to hear this too
The closest you've gotten to matching tone yet. Except for that time you used the same audio for both lol
Hahahaha.....that one was hillarious
Honestly you could have told me this was the same audio and I would have believed you. He nailed it
If you were playing a 35" scale tuned to B with 5-string-size strings (and I think maybe a smattering of delay), that'd be REAL hard to tell from the real deal.
They went mad for it cause Pete's a fucking legend.
Peter Steele aye? Well fitting name for that tone
Peter is a goddamn legend.
Must resist the temptation of correcting his usage of “super glue” when it should have been “hot glue”😂
Maybe it was E6000
But I only say that bc I just can’t see Peter with a hot glue gun LMAO
I love PEH-ters Behs tone.
there was a little something extra in yours but pretty damn spot on. way closer than i couldve gotten. well done.
Room acoustics
No it was an E that should’ve been an Eb
Video idea: Danny Sapkos favorite bass string list
First time I saw him in Kerrang I thought “Peter Steele is what I imagine The Kurgen from Highlander to sound and sing like if he were a rock star!”
Needless to say it was enough cause for me to buy a Type O Negative album
Cheers Danny! Very happy to see this!
Peter's Esh Stinger bass also had a piezo pickup system mounted in the bridge, which accounted for that extra top-end sizzle you hear on songs like Be My Druidess.
Thought you meant his voice and looked forward to hearing your voice chang. 😂
Dead on with the axe though.
We may have lost the man but his incredible tone and vision live on.
Ooof, that's a beautiful B E H S. What make and model is it ?
I love your videos! That crack about species killed me! I was rolling.
Hey man, I don't know if you see this but let me tell you I love your videos! :D Your positive energy always brings a smile on my face, keep up the good content brother!
Positive energy maybe, but the negativity and hate (he uses the word hate) towards extended range instruments and his judgmental critiques on things like playing style and where you hold your instrument sours me. I give the guy chance after chance, I really do…. But, even just the arrogance around changing the spelling of bass…. Maybe I’ll come around to him, and covering Peter Steele helped… but something about this Plucky Brit turns me off… just my opinion

RIP to a legend.
Also excellent job recreating the sound.
Sounds damn good 👍🏻
Elephant Gym pls
Peter steele is a BABE ❤😩
Was
Eddie Jackson from Queensryche next?
Gluing the settings on the pedal sounds like Peter all right. RIP Green Man.
Fucked nailed it, man!
Dude that's got to be as close as possible! Nice job man! ❤
Peter is the best bass player ever. Funny that he was left handed, imagine if he used a left handed bass?? 🤯
THAT IS SO FIRE 🔥
Thats the sound, nice man!
Beater Stills Piss tone sounds great :)
You absolutely nailed this one.
cuz we love type o negative and we love you dan
Type o was so good and Pete's voice was absolutely fucking incredible
He was a real one of a kind.
Frank bello from anthrax
Nailed it
Just bought a super-chorus and stumbled on this video, this in my new favorite tone. PERIOD.
Holy crap… you freaking nailed it to a t
Be My Druidess !!!!! Be My everything!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much for the video, I was looking for exactly how the bass distortion was done in that song (Be My druides), one of the best by the way
Well done! Thanks for this ❤
So happy for this video to come to finally be reality. Also, I'm pleasantly surprised to see all the love for Peter Steele's bass sound here in the comments, seeing as its a pretty radical sound. But truly, it's amazing and original. I'm gonna have to go on a Type O binge now.
Love your videos it makes me want to pick up Bass again! It’s been 23 years since I played used to have a Fender P Bass.
love peter so much
Also, almost everything in stereo! That's what made it very unique.
I don't think any of us are the same species as Peter Steele. He was one of a kind.
🗣️ BEEE MY DRUIDESS BEEEE MY EVERYTHIIINNNNGGGG ‼️‼️‼️‼️🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯
Do how to get John Entwistle’s bass tone
RIP Pete Steele
Type O Negative is one of THE greatest bands to have ever existed.
Every album is their best album.
Every song is their best song.
RIP Peter Steele Type O forever
Amazing. God I miss him
Perfect thank you
THANK YOU I LOVE YOUR VIDEOOOS
urcool
he should do Jerry's bass tone next
Hot glue, not super glue, and that's an awesome idea.🍻
Hot glued
“Can you believe that me and this guy are the same species?” that killed me
BE MY DRUIDESS 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥‼️‼️
my favorite bass sound from them on this one
Pete may have joked about sounding horrible, but he was definitely very original in his thinking with effects/feedback/signal. Very creative bassist with a great voice.
You are missed Pete.
Great video!
Can you do Mike Starr please?
Nailed it!
Perfect. I liked his playing. Miss Type O!!
Peter Steele's bass tone is honestly one of the most interesting tones I've ever heard, it just sounds amazing. Out of curiosity, what pedal plugins did you use for this? Never seen em before
nicely done!
Thanks Danny🙏🙏
Great !
Peter had some really unique and interesting bass lines throughout his career not all of which were distorted...he also had this nice smooth almost upright tone with some sort of tapewounds...besides being one of the biggest writers in type o negative and having this ultimate low voice and still being able to hit the high registers pretty effortlessly...well...he was the epithome of bass...hence why people went mad over this...yet he is often overlooked somehow...but seriously...some killer lines and the use of powerchords and octaves...and a very unique sonic quality to the whole band...good job mate, nailed it...i only have to add..his bass and kenny hickey's guitar had "sustainiac" pickup which could make their notes ring indefinitely creating those low drones band is known for
The perfect coment doesnt exis-
@@Bastos. hahah ;) love for the misfits btw
I love Type One Getive
You're so good at this sheesh 😂
For strings he used DR black beauties and like was mentioned downtuned bead. His playing and thier songs always stood out to me.
Thank you
WIsh he was still here❤
He also had a prototype sustainiac in the neck position of his basses, and he used black strings which I think were flatt wound, but I don't know about that, all I know is they were black.
RIP Peter!
Wow the same. I think I have a good Peter Steele sound but your info helped a lot. Thanks
I love his bass tone
So sick
R.I.P. Peter.
Well Done!
Great vid !!
Spot on
Nice 🤘
