michael jackson was a great artist, but i wouldn't consider him to the pinnacle of originality. he appealed to the mainstream with a more straightforward approach to pop song writing. it's just a weird comparison, because jai is really doing his own thing, making very unusal music that would never appeal to the mainstream audience
unless he drastically changed his sound
as is he's way more singular and distinct than michael jackson, but becaues of that, he's much less marketable. it's a trade off
VanIsleBC Aha - I see where you're coming from, but believe me, Jai Paul is heavily inspired by Michael Jackson, today MJ is considered mainstream, his false-setto vocals back then were far from the norm, Jai himself stated he was inspired by MJ; If you listen to some early demo's such PYT, you'll understand what I mean - in comparison to songs like 'Good Time'.

VanIsleBC yeah man, but they're not known for pumping songs out like every month... haha like Nao said, they are perfectionists.. and considering AK helped with a great deal of the leak... and got no credit for it really, thats most likely why AK is releasing first, so people know of him and his sound. if Jai would have released first on paul institute, no one would care to hear about an AK release afterwards tbh

Yeah because he just completely ripped off his sound. It happened with a lot of people unfortunately like Ben khan as u said as well as Movement or Jamies Bea. Jai is just too talented to not be copied.
